I feel like the reason groups have chosen slasher movies for newly public domain characters is because slasher horror is one of the easiest, low budget movie concepts to make.
The beauty of public domain is that if a person doesn’t like what other people are creating with a public domain character, they can always make their own art with them.
Horror built itself on imitation and it’s a proven strategy that brings various degrees of success.
Halloween imitated/ripped off Black Christmas. And Friday the 13th imitated/ripped off Halloween. Unsurprisingly with the context of knowledge Halloween and Friday the 13th became very successful franchises.
The same goes for Winnie The Pooh, made extremely cheap and regarded as an awful movie. It was successful enough to get a sequel and the same will potentially be for this Mickey Slasher film.
Imitation is part of the Horror Eco System especially in the main stream. It’s why after SAW released we got Hostel. And it’s why when Insidious released we got The Conjuring. Also it’s why when Halloween 2018 released we got the Legacy Sequel Craze that is Scream 2022, Ghostbusters Afterlife, and the god awful Texas Chainsaw film that’s on Netflix. Where there is money there is imitation. That’s how horror is profitable and it’s why creativity with horror is in more independent projects and is why I’ll praise Terror Vision for giving indie/niche titles physical releases.
Yes it can be argued that the “elevated horror” fad that’s been going on is creative but that’s a can of worms I won’t open since a majority misunderstand the subgenre to the point where it comes off as “fart sniffing”.
Not sure if this has been brought up before, but Limited Run Games are doing a vinyl release of IOI’s and Jesper Kyd’s Freedom Fighter score. Order period ends on January 7th, shipping for May.
Well since doing the progress transfer on November 13 which reset all my Hitman 3 Progress, I’m pretty much done with everything related to Hitman 3! All main mission challenges (including Ambrose Island), all ET Arcade missions, and all escalations on 3’s locations are now complete!
The only things I have left to do specific to Hitman 3 are finishing up Freelancer and Featured Contracts - Track 2. There’s still a good amount of legacy stuff to do like The Sarajevo Six, mission stories, the 2016 and 2 escalations, Featured Contracts - Track 1 and Sniper Assassin where I’m at 17/20 on Himmelstein and I have no progress on Hantu Port or Siberia. I still have never played Hantu Port once in all my time spent on Hitman 2 and 3.
(really wish there were some easy way to embed or properly display twitter posts here…)
fuckin’ Kaiju simulator over here is implementing time of day/atmosphere options to its game, it looks great and a small way to spice up repetitive gameplay loop…
My game controller finally died on me, had to command a new one.
The locker code to retrieve it had the most appropriate last 4 digits : 0451
(I took the occasion to also buy a lilac scarf, not to wear, but because I thought it would be pretty in the bungee cord compression of my backpack for the day to day. I’m happy that I was correct. Always like some colour.)
I basically haven´t touched it since April (ETs aside) and it shows. Gonna take a looong while before I get it there (adding the year of playing on Epic would help if it were possible)
I’m still incredibly mad and annoyed that HBO submitted Barry as a comedy show in the awards circuit.
Last night there was a moment where they’d play little clips of each series in that category. Every other clip had some sort of joke, but the one for Barry had: a voiceover of Barry lying to himself “I’m a good person. I AM a good person, that’s who I am…” intercut with clips of him beat up in jail with a bloody nose… wow, real funny HBO you’re definitely gonna win.
The show may have started as a black comedy about murder, but they really leaned into the dramatic moments in the last 2 seasons…
Old’s Havana Restaurant in the Litte Havana neighbourhood of Miami. Food was excellent. Drinks were solid. Live music. Felt like the old world, although just recently it’s become internet famous so now it’s packed all day everyday. Worth the 45 min wait though.
I also loved that they pre-muddle 50 mojitos at a time to help stay ahead
Honestly mat pat was my introduction to YouTube a friend randomly showed me a fnaf theory video of his and while I don’t watch his videos much Im still going to miss him i hope he has a happy life full of music men
The first video I watched from Game Theory was his first Five Nights At Freddy’s video. Since then I’ve always enjoyed watching his other videos occasionally but I always ended up watching any of his new FNAF videos. idk why but I’ve always found them entertaining.
