Thankfully I leave tomorrow for a week of meetings in San Francisco. Maybe when come back it’ll be a bit warmer?
I’m “enjoying” this Midwest miserable weather too. Negative temperatures, but at least there’s not much wind. I’ve had my faucets dripping… but already lost my hot water. This happens every time it gets cold like this. Thankfully I’ve never had any pipes break. I have a number of gallon jugs I was going to recycle so I can catch the water from these dripping faucets if my cold water lines freeze.
By Wednesday it should (almost) feel like Spring.
I’m back in hospital, a different one from last time. Been feeling a lot worse since Saturday. Blood test came back as “abnormal”, they think my infection hasn’t gone away and may have gotten into my fluids. This is basically round 3 now of the pneumonia 2 months on. The doctors seem to recognise the severity so it looks like my treatment will escalate. Could very well have a minor operation in future where they drill a hole in my back, and put a pipe through to my lung to get the fluid out.
Goddamn, sorry to hear that, @Silvereyes. Hope it doesn’t come to that point. Had pneumonia myself once when I was thirteen and it truly is a sucky condition, so I can relate in a way, but I didn’t have anything near what it sounds like you’re dealing with. I try to avoid empty-sounding platitudes in times like these, but whatever ends up happening, I hope you maintain the strength to carry on through it.
Wishing you the best Silvereyes. Hopefully this treatment goes well and the pneumonia can finally end.
Thanks @Heisenberg, @HerbGamer and everyone else. Sorry to hear that yourself Heisenberg, I’m somewhat fortunate in that this is the first time in my life since I fractured my arm when I was 6 that I’ve been in hospital and been so sick.
Did CT scan. The amount of liquid in my lung has increased and now have pus in my chest. Wound up on oxygen this morning and off of it tonight due to oxygen levels. Hoping to find out tomorrow from doctors what next move is.
Seeing how bad the NHS situation is. The last hospital I was in didn’t have an A and E department but this one does. Lots of people waiting to be seen. Told yesterday they are struggling for beds, wound up sleeping in a bed in a corridor last night with others in the emergency department. Got into a proper ward tonight thankfully, may get moved to the respiratory ward tomorrow.
Just a little ramble here…
I think I have ADD or ADHD (I’m not hyperactive but I definitely am in the head) even though I got tested a long while ago and the professional didn’t think so. (But did diagnose me with general anxiety though)
I dunno, but when it comes to tasks that fail to capture my attention or interest, I very quickly trail off thinking of other things that are more important or require more of my attention at that moment – and then, usually, I get so caught up in doing other thing, (or getting distracted by yet amother thing I need to do while I’m in whatever specific room I’m in), I end up using up a whole bunch of time and forget to finish the first boring task.
Like, just now, I had to clean my bathroom. I’d gotten most of it done, and was getting to the floors, before I realised, omg, I’ve got some bills to pay on my CC I should get to while I remember it – so I went and did that. But also while I was figuring out my payments, I thought “ooh, there was something I wanted to look up” while at my computer, so I went and did that. Flipped between whatever research I needed to do and my bills for a while, then realised I needed to get a small vaccuum for the dust in the bathroom, then realised I had a cookie downstairs I needed to get out of my lunchbox from work, and finally I got back up to the bathroom floor and now it’s been like 40 mins.
I could be wrong and I’m just confused or projecting, but I feel like I should go out and get tested again.
That first time was in my prime end-of-high school days, an era in my life that was very awkward and I was very shy, and I feel like I may have “lied” or held back in those tests a bit…
That’s… all that’s on my mind tonight lol
I’ll finish those bathroom floors now lol
It’s been a little over a week, and Peach seems to have taken to her treatment pretty well. They did three different things for her that day that help to encase her problematic joints in tissue and make it easier for her to move pain free. After that day, she’s hardly limped and has had no issue in jumping up on the couch or taking her steps up to the bed at night, and runs like a rabbit when she takes the fancy. It’ll wear off eventually, but according to the vet technician it always works, with the only variables being how well and how long. Over time, it may last longer if we have to continue going back after a few months. So, we’ll see, but so far, it’s been successful.
Best of luck friend! I hope Peach pulls through stronger than ever!
Saw this today. must be andrew tate fans lmao.
Been in hospital a week now. Talked to doctor, the antibiotics I’ve been on seem to working very well. They’re going to take me off the IV antibiotics today and switch to tablets, then monitor me to make sure the tablets are working. Be nice to get the cannula out of my hand.
Hoping to be out Wednesday or Thursday.
I haven’t bothered mentioning it because I didn’t want to rant but I have had a ear infection since October and I think it’s gone now it took 3 months to get prescribed the correct medicine because every doctor i went to thought it was a different type of infection even if it does come back the infection is just a annoyance rather than anything serious so I’ll be fine
Have driven today a bit. For the first time ever.
I mean alone, with no instructor or dual controls.
As a learner, of course I can’t drive like sole alone, but without dual controls I consider it alone.
Luckily with no damage to anybody or anything.
Never before exceeded 30mph, today hit 50.
Mixed feelings. First time behind the wheel of a new car and first time such a speed.
But I managed it and I liked it.
Will keep on rolling
Well, as someone who issues driver licenses, I can’t give out any inside info, but if you should have any general questions, I’m at your disposal.
That’s insane! Can’t they just give you broad spectrum antibiotics on the 2nd visit !?!
Anyway glad you’re on the mend.
The first time I went driving it was with my dad, he freaked me out doing a turn in an intersection and wound up mangling a Kingswood and a pile of bricks. I didn’t get my license until four years after that.
This makes a lot of sense.
I used to tell people secret tips and tricks to get passports easier all the time when I worked for them. I would always complain about my customers with my parents.
How so?
Because you are a very officious person with very exacting criteria for things while also occasionally being perhaps the slightest smidge stultifying at times. Typically things you associate with your DMVs.
Dusted one of my bookcases and made enough room for that mega box of Scott Pilgrim figures lined them up in a fun way I think.
Feat. Toddler Me in the background
Real 9/10 collection tho lol. I get 3 Ramonas and not a single Young Neil
