Freelancer - General Discussion

There are 2-3 different meeting types, each with a different icon and phone. Sometimes I bonked a suspect and the phone on them was for the wrong type of meeting, so it was useless.

Look at this

Sorry , im not reading that.

Is it good or bad ?

Super good, it’s a public document, we can read lot of infos, espacially for recent years

Y’know, it just thought about the missing coin, and I have a feeling it’s going to be tied to future Elusive Targets.

So… does anyone know how the ā€œdoors stay lockedā€ objective reacts to walking through doors wearing the right disguise in Hokkaido? I mean this could potentially be the type of objective I’d just give up on if you fail it for that.

I’m pleased to say I’ve managed to complete my second campaign!! well, onto the next one! :raised_hands:t2:

It’s only when you use lockpick/keycards/crowbars. Not sure if breaching charges work.

Don’t think so. I’ve not used them in specific, but I have shot doors open and failed the objective.

Also: does anyone think this (the code on the post-it) might be anything?

Freelancer reuses a lot of its resources from the main missions/map, so maybe the code is just a carried over asset, but it could also be part of some kind of secret thing?

Opening doors with the right disguise or the rfid is fine

This post-it is everywhere in dubai and other maps, but could be a very well long-planed easter egg

Just went in. Turns out the hatch where you find Agent Smith counts as a door. I guess I should’ve known better, but it seemed like a too good workaround to not try.

That’s just freakin’ mean… wow.

Sounds like you’re playing Hokkaido right now so you’ve got your answer, but I’d assume that since walking near it counts as the game itself unlocking the door for you, that doesn’t cross any lines with keeping doors locked.

(Though on that note I really wish that challenge only penalised you for using a lockpick or crowbar. Using a perfectly legal key on a perfectly legal door feels very mean)

Fifth campaign down, still have no fails and technically no restarts. On my first showdown I had narrowed down the suspects to the leader when it crashed. On loading back in I was able to kill the proper target and get the ā€œFaster than your Own Shadowā€ challenge. This was the first time a crash actually helped me out in a mission, but I’m still saying I’ve not done any restarts cause I had no control over this one. Right now my goal is to get to Mastery 100 without doing any restarts and without getting The Gauze Suit. This is the first time in Hitman that I’m actively avoiding unlocking something.

Some other highlights of this campaign are that I finally did a mission on Colorado, I learned that you can fail the ā€œNo Combatā€ objective on a civilian, and I now have all the common weapons. I wish instead of giving you Merces as a syndicate defeated reward when you already have all the weapons they gave you a small XP bonus instead.

So PlaystationGrenade posted a sponsored video about Freelancer…

Honestly pretty weird. I’d say he’s got mainly a Fortnite audience, with a few general Playstation & third-party side-content. Feels weird to see him advertising (and explaining in great detail) this mode specifically.
…Also he made the thumbnail look Fortnite-ish and changed the title 3 times now :joy:

Any publicity is good publicity I guess and he explains it well.

I got it solely to support IO. I think it is some of the ugliest DLC I’ve ever witnessed in my life - like none of it is good or nice looking…

But this mode is brilliant, so any way we can support IO, I think we should.

Got all the tools! Ignore the coin. Ignore the coin. Ignore the coin.

(It’s already gone again since I’ve switched to hardcore mode)

Was also only a few sniper rifles away from a full weapon wall, but getting careless on alerted Colorado mission with ā€œno firearmsā€ objective set me back a bit by taking away a big chunk of my knife collection.

Also found this somewhat peculiar crate in Dartmoor today. I don’t think I saw those items in a box before.

I’m trying not to close the game when I’m about to die because it will suck the fun out it for me (currently on 2 million Merces, so death is inevitable at this point.)

But I just had to cheat because I spawned in Berlin at the bar, and suddenly everyone around me went orange. I had nothing in my hands, and had only just spawned in…

It’s almost like they saw Agent 47 appear from nowhere and were all pissed about it.

I’ve got Theatre tickets with the wife tomorrow. Is it bad that I’d rather be playing freelancer?

I just found out that you can bring briefcase into any mission without bringing your gun or big melee weapons. Just go fishing & get Driftwood Log and bring it into the mission, it doesn’t have capacity consumption, legal item & it’s free. This information can help for anyone who want to use emetic-briefcase trick.

Even if Freelancer never existed at all nobody could blame you for wanting to be somewhere other than the theatre…
