What's New....?

Today is the ten year anniversary that Brian was struck and killed by a car.

Deals on Black Friday just donā€™t hit the same anymoreā€¦ probably because theyā€™ve already stretched them out weeks beforehand. And even so, the deals arenā€™t that outstanding. Mostly 30% or if youā€™re lucky 50%.

I did find a good deal on an Xmas present for someone though.

and I found a good deal on a physical Dying Light 2 which should arrive next week. Got it for 40$ after shipping/tax, saves about 7$ from the Digital prices after tax, that havenā€™t hit that physical low yet.

Aaaaand I bought a 6-movie collection of the Mission Impossible franchise since why the heck not itā€™d be good to own almost all of them.
I did my research and itā€™s at a price it hasnā€™t reached for over 1.5 years now, so I say worth it.

I actually started playing Catalyst today and from the little IĀ“ve experienced so far, the parkour system feels a bit smoother/better than in the first game (though I might be misremembering it and would probably have to play it back to back). IĀ“ll have a better opinion once I play through the whole thing.

From what I remember from Catalyst, I liked the general improvements on the parkour system. Its the level design that has the most glaring issues.

Way too many routing bottlenecks, the Runner Vision shows the same simple paths (though is hard to navigate the maze-like city without).
The combat is fairly meh, in my opinion. Felt like an enemy damage-sponge distraction from getting between two points.

I had a dream (well, nightmare) where I was an NPC in Hokkaido and Iā€™d wandered into 47ā€™s suite on purpose. I sensed him come in, but before I could react, he seized me by the arm and sternly walked me out. His figure was towering and he breathed an air of severe professionalism and slight annoyance. It was kind of like Hello Neighborā€¦ Itā€™s actually funny typing it out now. I have a feeling this dream symbolizes career things and that itā€™s not so much about video games though hah :,)

Oh, and I finished the game A Way Out two days ago. Fun co-op game! Only drawback was that it was super short

I donā€™t think Hitman 3 might get a Year 4 of content that isnā€™t just re-runs.

I dunno, maybe Iā€™m just a skeptic, but given that we actually got 3 years of New content whereas the previous games only got two or heck even one (lookinā€™ at you, Hitman 2 :grimacing:) itā€™s already pretty great and unexpected that theyā€™ve kept the wheels turning like this.

Iā€™d be VERY happy to be proven wrong, because thereā€™s still plenty of stuff we could/should hopefully expect to get given how elusive some of the old items have been, but I kind of donā€™t see it, other than some QoL and bug fixes.

But hey, if there is a Year 4, I really hope it includes a PSVR2 update because that just might get me to pull the trigger on that device sometime in the future. (Not that Iā€™m willing to spend that much right now, but damn it would be way more tempting)

An update on this. I am feeling a lot better than I was a week ago. Iā€™m off the heavy painkillers and anti-biotics, and just trying to recover on normal painkillers now. I still have some pain but really my biggest issue is fatigue. Like, walking down the stairs is enough to make me winded. Iā€™ve taken the entire week off, considering I drive a car for work I just donā€™t have the energy to do that kindof thing. Hoping to be back Monday, but all we can do is see. Think Iā€™m just getting a little tired being cooked up in the house so much and feeling so exhausted. But I am definetly getting better at least.

Having some electrical work done to my new house this week. Arrived home from work and let myself in while the electrician was upstairs working, and gave him a start as he came down the stairs as he hadnā€™t heard me come in. He said to me - and I quote - ā€œBloody hell, youā€™re a bit of a silent assassin, arenā€™t you?!ā€

Dude knows what to say to earn himself a bonus!

Why IOI still sorts all your gear Alphabetically baffles me. Due to all the minute ways different variants are named, it becomes a real chore to find the specific tool you want.

Needs to be sorted per theme/type, as of like two years ago lol

Donnie Darko is an Easter movie; discuss!

Also, damn son, you been waiting to post that
I give you props for it.

Well the film is about a young man who acts upon visions of a doomssaying cosmologically important entity so as to effect the lives of others and then proceeds to give up his own life to ensure the survival of mankind. It has a giant rabbit in it and giant rabbits are a symbol of Easter. Duh!

You cradled the kernel of truth on this one so much better than I could have ever dreamed.

This explanation also makes Life is Strange an Easter video game (and a much better Donnie Darko with women then the actual woman led Donnie Darko sequel) and a Halloween game at the same time. That game also has a rabbit in it so it counts there as well Unlike Halloween which isnā€™t a Halloween film. (You can get stabbed to death in a home invasion by a remorseless killer any time of the year.)

You have no idea.

And no, it would be much closer to a Halloween movie, although still not quite.

Are we really gonna make it like that from now on? Unlike certain other entertainment fields that provide entries associated with certain holidays, the status of which can be disputed not only because the events described within can happen at any time of year, but in addition to its contents not being about the holiday in question, Halloween actually is a Halloween film as, unlike examples described above, although itā€™s events can happen at any time, its content actually is directly associated and contingent upon the holiday of Halloween, and as such is unmistakably a Halloween movie.

Please donā€™t make me go into even more long-winded explanations on this. I can, and will if I feel I must, but Iā€™m really worn out for the week after the last one, so please, donā€™t tempt it, Iā€™m begginā€™ ya
