What Videogame(s) Are You Playing?

Epic GTA Chinatown Wars prequel with greatly expanded drugs trade mechanics with planned Boxer Rebellion DLC.

Of course they don’t. They don’t teach us much about our colonial history either aside from “we did bad things to the natives”. Our education on civil rights was just learning about the American Civil Rights movement which kind of defeats the whole point of Australian History.

It also ignores or glosses over incidents like the Freedom Riders, the Wade-Ins, Joh Bjelke-Petersen’s horribly racist premiership, the Mabo Decision, the Whitlam Administration, the expropriation of indigenous bodies to England, the Cronulla riots, the Melbourne Rebellion (the time we went to war with America) and the White Australia Act (list is not all-inclusive). It also never or vaguely mentions people like the Japanese pearl divers, the Arab cameleers, the Mediterranean war refugees, the Chinese railway workers, the Cornish miners, the Nordic goldpanners and people like that.

Say Britain introduced drugs China and used China’s decision to stop you poisoning their people to start a war that results in you annexing their ports? Fail, you don’t know history at all do you?
Say Winston Churchill was totally justified in starving hundreds of South Asians because of reasons? First Class, you clearly understand the historical factors that led Churchill violating human rights.

The Isle of Armour is the best content in swsh so far, granted I’m not far but even one gym i can already sense a pattern of slightly open route followed by linear routes followed by town, and that sounds very uh, pokemon, no matter how many qol they now have slapped on top.

The wild areas in the base game also pales in comparison to the isle

I got Hades for my birthday and it is so much fun! You play as Zagreus, the son of Hades, who’s trying to get out of the shifting maze of Hades to go party with the cool gods in Olympus. Each run you acquire more knowledge of how to deal with enemies, new temporary powers (depending on things like which god wants to help you this time and which doors you take) and, most likely, another death at some point. Then, you take things you found and build up your permanent powers and inventory and go try again.

I’d heard a lot of good things and it’s not only lived up to my expectations but, so far, it’s surpassed them. The characters are great and quirky, I love how the game plays with Greek mythology and it’s challenging in all the right ways.

Yes!

Ooh, just wait till you see how many gameplay systems and tasks youll unlock that push you to get further and further in the game…

I wish you the best. I’m at run… 64 i think? And I’ve only finished the game like 3 times. But that was because it took me a while to change and focus my strategy on what works for me.

[Light gameplay spoilers]
Pro tip though: you’ll get special rewards for killing bosses. You only get one per weapon, until you unlock a way to get more in the Endgame. Save up Titan Blood and use it to unlock other Aspects of the weapons, not upgrades.

Been having a blast playing through the latest Destiny expansion.

Most of the new weapons are powerful and feel great to use, I haven’t gotten around to the exotics yet. And the new location, Savathün’s Throne World, is super atmospheric and creepy, definitely getting the same vibes as the Dreadnaught from the Taken King expansion

Between life, work, and school I managed to squeeze Demon Souls in before Friday. Next Stop Elden Ring.

edit: New Game Plus is where I experiment with my saves and Glitches/Skips hence the stats and soul level perks of having a 1.0 disk.

I’m on run 14 or 15 and I’m not close yet. I mostly get derailed by the Bone Hydra lately, though that’s partly because I’ve been trying to get Titan Blood with every weapon and it takes me a few runs to get the feel for how I like to use each one. I’m really not a fan of the shield especially but I am getting the hang of it and was pretty successful with it in my most recent run.

When it’s not weapon related, I mostly get into trouble by taking too much damage where I shouldn’t and/or having to use my death defiance way too early and having no health left for when I need it. I’m starting to get better about that but I did take about 25/30 damage to one of those floating skulls and one of the magic archer guys. It was an incredibly rookie move but it was in run 13… I have no idea what happened except that everything went to shit after I got stuck on a piece of scenery for like half a second. :joy:

didn’t go that route. actually got a relatively happy ending, which was really nice.

next play through is full inland empire/shivers/apocalypse cop, so we’ll see. after that, i’m going back to my original plan of playing ‘what would hunter s thompson do’ style.

i’m definitely getting the platinum on this. one of my favourite gaming experiences ever. two in a year ain’t bad!

But it isn’t strange Kim, if you simply played the game you would understand Harry’s political views are meaningless and yet another way Harry distracts himself from his empty existence while also trying to win back his estranged fiancée in his own head.

Also boo on you for being boring! True players go hardcore communism and full on art cop.

All my first playthroughs are safe and the ones that follow I spice it up a bit. Only game I really can’t go full psycho is F3 since you start with a past and I hate the the idea of being a dick towards Liam Neeson. I prefer characters with a blank slate, especially in RPGs.

I can understand that, I also do a safe run first up. Sometimes it is even better than being a dickhead like in the Mass Effect games.
