Yep, the second half of the game is all about buying properties and doing mission related to them.
It works well since Sonny is threatening you on the phone, and you get Lance being emotional and unreliable on the phone, and in some missions too.
Tommy taking the lead while knowing Sonny will do something means the story really isn’t on a pause, but I’m sure first time players aren’t thinking about the significance of Tommy buying everything and doing all the missions on his own.
The kid decided after playing Vice City he was going to play the rest of the PS2 games in chronological order. Since he did 3 and VC already it meant he’d just go Vice City Stories, San Andreas then Liberty City Stories.
It took a lot of me saying “you’ll regret it” but he’s decided not to end with LCS, thank god.
I love LCS but it doesn’t compare at all to VCS or SA. That’d be a really depressing way to end this saga.
I still remember how this confused me back when first playing it. You´re doing the story missions, all good, and suddenly you run out of icons on the map and nothing. I don´t know for sure if I missed it in the cutscene or just didn´t understand the term “real estate” (likely both), but it took me a while to figure out that suddenly certain places have purchase icons in front of them and that these open up new missions. In a time when YT and other forms of online “assistance” were very much nonexistent, it was quite the surprise… At least it prepped me for when San Andreas would do the same 2 years later
I wonder too if this person played the final mission as quickly as possible and shortened the experience? I forget how many properties and/or how much money you need to trigger the final mission, but you certainly don’t need all of them. There are also a couple properties with not many missions. Pole Position and Boat Yard for example. You can get those pretty quick and if you actually pick up the revenue you can buy other places pretty quick too. You can also totally bypass the Cuban + Haitian missions.
Unfortunately GTA VC you need to meet the hidden criteria to unlock the final mission. Unfortunately I can’t quite say it’s easy since Vice City has some tough missions.
Ideally you want to buy and complete the assets with the least amount of missions, but also want to attribute the fact that some assets like the Film Studio and Malibu Club have some of the more punishing missions in the game.
Sunshine Autos while technically being easy is the most frustrating since it’s very RNG Heavy since you are boosting cars and completing four lists.
Cherry Popper Ice Cream is annoying and you need 50 sold before it becomes a profitable asset. Unfortunately cops become a problem and if the vehicle is destroyed you gotta start over.
My recommendation to quickly unlock the final mission is this.
Vercetti Estate - Complete Rub Out
Boat Yard - Complete The Checkpoint Charlie Boat Race
Pole Position - Spent $300 on a Private Dance (AFK for a few minutes)
Kaufman Cabs - Complete Cabmaggeddon
Print Works - Mandatory
Edit: if the mission doesn’t become available just do the first list of Sun Shine Autos. It’s the easiest and less frustrating out of the four.
After that you should be able to continue on to Cap The Collector and the Final Mission of GTA VC
It’s kinda shocking to me how a first time Vice City player experiences the story as “short”. I remember my first playthrough being endlessly long. Maybe being a dumb as kid at the time has something to do with it. I forgot how to save my game right before the second island unlocked, so I got to experience the “new part of the map” sensation a million times over again.
Apparantly there was also a bug that when you saved your game at the Cherry Poppers ice cream joint your save game would get corrupted and no other missions would unlock. This happend to me as a kid. Cap the collector didn’t unlock so I never understood what I missed to play the final level. Those were some desperate days driving around the map looking for a mission marker. Eventually I replayed the whole game and finished it a few years later. Those were the times man…
On my first playthrough I think I had pole position, boatyard, ice cream, printworks, cab stand, and Malibu club. The Malibu club levels weren’t easy but they were really fun. I had lots to do after the main story was over still though.
Personally when I load a new save I’m in the mindset of getting Rich Quick so instead of going to Ocean View I go ahead and collect all Hidden Packages and then do Vigilante in the Hunter.
If anyone is interested, the SA video is done.
I played 7 GTAs since the second half of last year. I think I need a long, long break.
Rockstar launches a membership program for gta online at 5.99 a month. lol
I mean i dont play gta online nor have i played gta 5 in years. But they gotta be taking the piss here. Will there ever be an end?
You need a Hitman Forum Gold membership to see this comment.
Well, after more than 3 years since buying the game, I finally managed to clear enough disk space and get around to playing GTA V last week. Breezed through the campaign and am now trying out the side stuff (Strangers and Freaks) before I go on a second, more thorough playthrough.
It´s good fun, but I feel like I enjoyed IV more, particularly the gunplay and physics shenanigans (not to mention the story). I gotta say V has a much better PC port though.
Oh, and I would absolutely love if they made this into a proper series:
You mean L.A Noire? Basically the same thing without the attempts at comedy.
There’s another episode, though in radio show form in Vice City Stories. I know, I myself spent too much time listening to Emotion 98.3 and V-Rock too, maybe it could be the reason that many missed out these shows.
GTA V does have plenty good TV shows, especially cartoons. Being a weeb, I can’t help but enjoying Princess Robot Bubblegum. It’s a lot of fun when you realize and understand many things they make fun of anime and its audiences.
Ah yeah, bumped into this one on YT afterwards as well It’s also great, though I prefer having the video as well. Love the animation style.
I’m not much of an anime fan, so I’m not sure I’d get all the pokes (though living in Japan, I guess I should), but PRG also caught my attention. Still need to watch it though, only saw glimpses here and there.
Unfortunately Phelps (as well as Kelso) is too much of a do-goodie and far from the type of chain-smoking wisecracking alcoholic protagonist that Moorehead is, so I’d still want a regular cartoon series with him. Especially because of the (attempts at) comedy. That being said, L.A. Noire is one of my all-time favourite games and I would absolutely love a sequel.
Recently I made a short heist movie in GTA V. It’s been a while since I’ve used the Rockstar Editor again, but I guess I still got it.
Ok, I guess that everyone saw the shit fucking tons of leaks that came out today, a bad day for Rockstar, an awesome day for us, I gathered lots of interesting shit info with the help of some peeps in the F7SC discord server and I’ll post it here with a spoiler tag, if you truly want to wait for announcements and release, don’t open the Spoiler Tag:
- Player Characters are Jason and Lucia, male and Female.
- We are back in Vice City (extreme hype)
- the leaks are of a very early build of the game, very early, we are not sure from when but these were recorded lately.
- As much as I’ve seen there are a couple of locations in the leaks:
* A restaurant both Lucia and Jason are robbing, like the kiosks from GTAV but in a restaurant instead, they proceed to escape in a police car.
* A gunfight in the middle of the road with multiple cops, there we can see it’s Vice City, because of the tall palm trees, nothing interesting.
* A pool convo between 2 NPCs, in the conversation they mention Jay Norris and the fact that he is dead, welp Michael and Lester killed him in GTAV to raise the stocks.
* Multiple Strip Club clips that have both Lucia and Jason wondering around the place, no lap dances tho.
* Jason’s bedroom is messy and he has 2 viberators, 1 on the bed and 1 on the shelf, I hope theres no third.
- Female Cop NPCs
- DarkViperAU said that we are able to carry only 2 guns at a time, tho I didn’t found the vid, Rockstar must’ve got rid of it.
- I just noticed that the police cars say Port Gellhorn
, so we got 1 area of the map in the clips.
- There are signs that say Vice City, in the metro system and on a building.
- You can interact with the world a lot more.
- Jason is able to open shipping crates with his lock-breaking tool to get some pre-placed loot.
- Your character has a loot bag too, seen in two pieces of footage. Jason kinda spawns it out of nowhere in the shipping crate footage though.
- Side-note about world interactivity: There was a prompt to buy a gumball from one of those gumball machines outside a 24/7-esque store. It didn’t have a price and idk if it’ll make it into the final game. Would be a funny health regen snack.
- The player gets the option to control the in-vehicle chair and various other in-vehicle driving interactions.
- Random NPC Convos have full cutscene movements.
- “Numb Numb Juice” by ScHoolboy Q was playing in the strip club in one of the leaks, which means that the song is in the game’s soundtrack.

- “Cash Shit” by Megan Thee Stallion featuring Dababy is being played on the radio in one of the clips, which means, this song is a part of the game’s soundtrack.

Edit: it screwed up for some reason and forced to Spoiler tag each sentence instead of the whole post, sorry.
Edit: added 3 stuff
