I got the perfect candidate: P. Diddy.
That will be perfect.

The question is; who will be Hitman’s next Celebr’ET?
There is a thread for that, actually. I made quite a few lists there myself.
Man, I thought that my list aged awful from that thread but it seems like IOI’s picks are even worse lmao.
So, we could say goodbye to one of the best missions of the entire franchise!
Really, that’s the takeaway here?
Also, it’s a good mission, but way too derivative to be “one of the best in the series”.
Aw cmon, not this again
Well at least i have already purchased the DLC for that one…
Let’s hope it is only fake news this time
I guess now those who wish to collect all the stuff should act immediately and buy DLCs once they become available.
But again, I don’t believe JCvD even slightly guilty
It’s simply a grey area. While accusations are accusations and they aren’t indicative on if one’s guilty or not guilty. They still need to be taken seriously.
It’s how this world works, and it’s up to you to draw your conclusions.
Well, it’s actually up to the courts to draw the conclusions. It’s up to us to decide whether we are more concerned with what we got out of the accused, or if their actions, if true, are enough for us to let it go on principle. Me personally, assuming IOI would treat the Splitter like the Disruptor if it turns out to be true, then I’ve already got what I want out of it and don’t really care how it turns out for Van Damme one way or the other. Callous and self-serving, yes, but as I’ve stated before, beyond my own health and safety and that of my family, my entertainment is my priority in this world. As long as I still have access to this content, the outcome won’t affect me in any practical way. That being said, I would certainly hope for an outcome that reveals there to not be yet another sexual abuser in the world.
Callous and self-serving is one way of putting it. Another would be “completely ignorant of the situation for your own benefit, unless it directly affects your wellbeing”. That’s how I’d describe it.
That’s not a mindset I can even begin to agree with.
It’s like that twitch drops fiasco where you were against what they were doing…but not enough to abstain from purchasing a sub to get the content you wanted, but knew was bad for the game to have.
I really do hope that JCVD’s role has been blown out of proportion, or the story is flat-out untrue. But I get the sinking feeling that it isn’t the case, and if IO does pull the DLC, then they seriously look into their hiring and background check processes. Poor timing this may be, it’s becoming problematic and a pattern of behaviour.
After that other dude who was known to be violent, I looked up JCVD’s past to see if there are comparable events. I “only” found drug misuse which is not nice but also not a direct crime against other people. Maybe indirectly if you involve the making and shipping of cocaine and how that negatively affects other people.
Of course I spent not as much time than I would expect in a company doing a background check, but to me this here is quite surprising and I am not sure IO could have seen that coming. Were there any other rumors of this before?
Given everything leading up to the release of the splitter post Disruptor I’m certain there were sleuths in the community who were digging around, but couldn’t find anything of substance just to make sure we didn’t have another controversy unfold.
Unlike McGregor who has a problematic reputation before hand.
May I suggest Asia Argento, Allison Mack or Cardi B? Those will be a safe bet …
And I was upfront about that Twitch situation as well. I don’t have a lot to enjoy in this world, so my entertainment comes first. It applies here as well. That’s not being ignorant to the situation, that’s being indifferent. I don’t hope for situations like this, but neither am I surprised when another celebrity is accused of something, and whether they did it or not, it does not affect my opinion of the entertainment value they’ve provided thus far. Now, any they might provide in the future may require consideration, if the accusations prove true.
For the record, in this case, I’m blaming bad timing, not the fact IO ignored anything. Far as I can tell, he’s fairly clean as controversies go, so this news is a bit out of left-field.
But the public perception this leaves IO is problematic, even if the company didn’t know, it’s just not a good look for three of your ET’s to have such controversies attached, that was my overall point.
And that doesn’t stop the sentiment that the company needs to carefully consider who they promote and do deals with for in-game missions.
As seedy as it sounds pornstars are safer bets.
Oddly enough, that may actually be true.
I don’t pretend to know you personally, but might I suggest getting some higher moral standards. You are practicing apathetic purchasing choices for self-serving ends if a company is collaborating with an abuser, even after the fact when you know it’s wrong to do so. Personally, I can’t do much about the game itself, but I can hold off on buying a DLC that is associated with said abuser when that information becomes known publically.
It’s hard work saying no to content you don’t have, but sometimes, morally speaking, that is the right thing to do.
That’s not being ignorant to the situation, that’s being indifferent.
That’s…not any better. You essentially went from morally grey to a lighter shade of morally grey. Is that a better mindset? Yeah, I guess? But that still has ignorance baked in to the action. Being indifferent to content featuring an abuser and then purchasing it knowing it might get removed because it featured such a person, is inherently ignorant of the context and situation.
It’s the equivalent of a political demonstrator shouting on a soapbox, trying to push for a better future, but not actually believing a word they say, and are secretly doing it for attention or some other personal purpose, or hell, may even be working with the opposition for some grander scheme.
In case, the irony got lost there: I didn’t chose those names randomly.
