[Serious:TW Sexual assault and Trafficking] Jean-Claude Van Damme Accused of Having Sexual Relations with Romanian Women

Goddammit. And I was having such a nice day.

IOI must have some curse on them, 3/5 celebrETs have had some scandal associated with them by now.

There goes the best ET :frowning:

Aw shit, here we go again…

Not really a curse with IO, but more just the fact that the lifestyle of a celebrity encourages a lot of awful behavior.

Also, horrible situation. Hope it isnt true

Why can’t people just be normal? : (

Damn IO sure does know how to pick them, it seems.

Except for The Drop, every Celebrity ET so far (and yes. that includes the allegations of domestic abuse that Sean Bean had, don’t pull it under the rug) has had awful allegations around them.

Just awful all around.

Ok, IOI should probably be rethinking the celebrity ET strategy now.

Damn. This ET was beautifully hilarious and unique. I hope they don’t remove it from the game like they did with McGregor and instead rework it.

Also, not important in the grand scheme of things, but he’s alleged to have done things to Romanian women. What an unfortunate connection since 47 is Romanian… it’s like the universe is slapping IOI.

If this turns out to be true, I hope he faces the proper repercussions and the women involved are alright.

I bet this is fake accusations and JvD will prove himself innocent at some point, if he will care to dive into this

Allegations are precisely that though; not proven. In fact, his wikipedia page doesn’t even mention it, so it seems those accusations went nowhere. Not saying that’s right or wrong, but nobody’s hiding anything, much less covering it up, far as I can tell.

I do find it quite amusing that the one CelebrET trying to act like a scumbag is the one who is so far the most clean.

Well guys get the splitter dlc before it splits from the stores

It might not be a good thing to automatically assume the accusations are false, considering how no information given makes that clear (and how a lot of sexual assault + abuse + human trafficking cases go unreported…)

IOI decided to primarily target a demographic that has only a few differences, and an overlap, with the one attracted to the manosphere.
CelebrETs choices reflected that, being incidentally only a few step removed from it (or inside for McGregor). Transforming the whole structure, not just the individual, in a PR gamble.

As for this situation. They are allegations, part of a official investigation by Romanian Police. That particular individual complaint is recent, and revealed as authorization from French court are processed to call in witnesses (the event happened in Cannes)

I’m the one who created the Serious McGregor topic, so I think my position is clear. Even more since it followed a sway of reply in other topics since that announcement.

Nonetheless, I waited for a court verdict to demand for decisive actions from IOI. I will do the same here.

I don’t see the splitter decision as a direct moral failing on IOI part though.
While I still do for the disruptor one. This is new, and not part of JCVD known public image. It 100% was for McGregor, and I still judge IOI for it.

If proven true, this is repeated.

Self-reflection should happen at IOI on why they are now close enough that such encounters, even if non-forseeable, are probable to the point of seeming natural to them.

Once it’s accidental, twice would be your essence.

Time to kill the CelebrET strategy I guess.

Nope. Wasn’t particularly interested in JCVD to begin with, and this makes me less interested now.

Does JvD has scandalous or sensitive reputation?
I know little, but I’ve never seen him in news with negative context whatsoever.
And suddenly he’s gone off the deep end?
I don’t believe it

Once is an accident, twice is coincidence; thrice is a pattern.

Reputation means absolutely nothing, I had a childhood friend who was a very nice guy and whom I had a lot of fond memories with, and he still turned out to be a rapist

Wow, it’s really not been IOI’s week.

It’s a real shame to see. It looks like a few news sites have picked it up on it so far, internationally I’ve not yet seen anything. I’ll wait and see what happens and if IOI deem to respond too.
