New Elusive Target: THE SPLITTER (December 12th, 2024 - January 12th, 2025)

If you wanna do it in the starting disguise, just don´t interrupt the tour until you get to the dojo, and when the clone starts the bricksmashing demonstration, you´ll get a prompt to challenge him (cause bricks don´t hit back), which will allow you to take part in a sparring session (which is very similar to the Disruptor fight). You can also do it outside of the tour, but only after they had talked about doing the demonstration. If you wanna do it dressed as Valliant´s security, just get a guard outfit beforehand. I do love that Hei just goes “Motherfucker…” after you one-punch the clone, lol.

When I boilt them, there was another scientist (in red) in the area with her - she blamed him for the incident and told him that Valliant would punish him.

Oh, neat. I didn’t see that, probably because I evacuated them with emetics beforehand, so it may have cancelled it somehow before they got back.

Same. Fortunately, I found it playing in Arcade mode, rather than ET. It drops into some kind of “cutscene” mode, and you’re stuck. When I played in ET mode this morning, it worked fine.

Some differences:

  • last night I had one clone doing presses, and one in the sauna; this morning I put them both in the sauna.
  • last night I assumed the (yellow; tier 2) control panel on the sauna door was relevant, so I’d triggered that previously – took me forever to remember where the T2 dongle was as well.

One annoyance is that – when I used the gas tank explosion on the clone in the shooting range (rather than the golf ball) – the remaining clone dragged the body into the sauna and then didn’t succumb to the heat, even after I cloroformed him. I had to melee him with a thrown screwdriver.

Haven’t played it yet, and this :point_up: just pissed me off, and took away any goodwill I had toward this mission.

also, i don’t know if i’m just stupid, but for some reason when i press G to dismiss the guard (whilst having a wrench), it makes me unloosen the gas canister (this is the reason why i have been stuck on this ET for 2-3 times in a row now, the guard doesn’t get dismissed and the clone starts firing shots)


i got this bug after i used a tranquilizer on the clone who is doing the wall balance thing :skull:
i know you are meant to adjust the walls, but this just seems like an oversight by the developers

This mission makes me hope the Ether research facility mentioned in Ambrose Island will still be made into a new map. Some of the elements in The Splitter are just too slick for a one-and-done elusive target level.

A blend of this mountainous Ether Research Facility mentioned in Ambrose and the CICADA training facility in Mongolia mentioned in Carpathian Mountain would be great.

Would make sense too, since it was where 47 was headed towards before waking up.
There is obviously a medical side to it.
And the team that were in the woods in Dartmoor are based in it (they are the armoured guards on the train). Presumably they brought Grey back to it too.

As for the Ether Facility, it’s from the start about DNA storage and research. Lots of dialogue in the trilogy about medical research toward life expanding research…

Finally, the Hitman Franchise always likes to blend this kind of research with a fabled scientifically perfected soldier.
Hence Elite CICADA+Exclusive Ether :slight_smile:

Oh I wish, I wish… Seeing what the focus of Year 4 has been, I highly doubt it, but a new location + mission would be an awesome surprise for Y5 (also, back for Y2, Hakan promised us new maps, and I simply cannot consider the Freelancer Safehouse to satisfy the criteria; you still owe us at least one you golden-helicopter hoarder!!!).

The bigger bug, the people dying when standing close to the shooting clones, is already on their radar and they’re working on a hotfix according to someone from IO on reddit.

Wonder if they’ll actually do a reset on the ET given how many people it seems to be failing. Would be the first time they’ve done it if they do.

I don’t think it’s even possible to let someone who’s already passed/failed do an ET mission again. I thought that’s why they’ve done the Year 2/3/4 duplicate versions of ETs.

I reported the bug on IO’s player support and they told me they are unable to restore progress, yet another reason to hate this disgusting format. I’m so done with this game, 4 years of work wasted because of a glitch.

Jeez, this is really cringe worthy, wonder who wrote this. Why does Diana keep telling us: “That there is NOT Valiant. Wonder if its a clone?” When we have ALREADY KILLED VALIANT. Doesn’t she KNOW we killed him? Really lame. And his accent is so heavy, you need subtitles to understand what he’s saying. Does Jean Claude really speak like that?

Finally managed to get the Arcade version done today and man, the Level 2 stage was a lot more tricky than I expected. The first stage was much more simple as you could obtain a researchers disguise and dismiss the other researchers and make the Clone kills a lot easier. With no disguise changes during the Level 2 stage, I thought this is going to take me forever, but I just did a lot more subduing of NPC, before using a Knife on the majority of the Clones.

This mission is really good, I dreaded that the amount of targets and variables would make me fail or that the target would suddenly engage in a gun fight with me lol.

I tried to complete the mission without changing disguises, but the ones using the bikes got “stuck” because I pacified the scientist that would tell them to do other things, so I had to tell them myself.

Also almost got stuck when I removed the guards from the shooting range, I placed a gun on the ground and the clone that was coming to shot at the golf ball saw it too and got distracted in place, after that he went into the shooting range to change places with the other one, but came back right away and then they were stuck until I distracted both at the same time and they finally changed places, these were the last and both went out with a bang :boom:
