[MOD] Freelancer Variations

Hi, being stuck on Landslide exit sequence is a known bug (reported by Tinosaurus). Although when it’s happened people usually get past the score screen and are stuck just before loading the Safehouse

It is however a bug I cannot reproduce :confused: (Just did a Landslide Showdown… 47 walked through a solid door at the end but it let me continue to Safehouse)
I’m gonna have to chuck it down to “one of those SDK things” at the moment

Can confirm rating still works on installation of the mod (incl. SDK)


Update: There’s been some issues related to the website variant picker. I forgot to add something when I added Noodle Showdown, so if you used website for that Noodle Showdown would crash. It has NOW been fixed

There’s also the issue of if you upload any version of your JSON to the website derived from the Nexus version, it will say a bunch of variants have been turned off that in fact were not off at all; this is because the website is case sensitive and there were some capital letters in my file. This will no longer be the case in the next update on Nexus.

Not sure how it fixed, but after fully reinstalling game and all mods(SDK SMF) - now all good.
That problem occurs after freeze in Garden Show (Night). Game just freezes and music still playing. After ALT+F4 i reloaded mission and finished it, then i saw that problem with mission rating. after then i finished about 3-4 missions and all this missions did not have mission rating.
Forgot to mention, i was playing in hardcore mode. Maybe it is a issue?

I haven’t ever tested this mod in hardcore mode, but I don’t think it should be an issue. Is it some do and some don’t in hardcore mode? Or all don’t?

I finished in hardcore about two showdowns and 8 usual missions with installed mod. Seems like all good, expect that problem as i described earlier. But not sure about enforcers and etc(cause all hardcore maps are alerted plus a lot of guys who can blow up your disguise).

Yeah, that happens again. I got freeze and crash on loading screen flying to Dubai. I loaded again, finished mission and there is no mission rating. And problem with mastery XP.
Before mission: about 16500XP to level 66.
Finished mission: i get about 8900XP after finishing.
Now im at start of 66lvl mastery.

And strange, that when i finished level(when u got statistics screen - it was 65lvl and status bar about 80%. After loading to safehouse - start of 66lvl.

This mod does not touch a single file of Dubai, so it sounds like you’re just one of the people who gets bad luck with the SDK, not actually specific to my mod. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news :frowning:

All we can do is hope one day the SDK creator figures out what’s causing these issues

Seems totally random whether I get a ranking or not. On Berlin Day I didn’t get one :S

Did u get just no ranking? I mean your game runned fine? no crashes/freezes/etc?
Maybe it is server related issue or bad connection maybe?
Just a bit strange that i had this situation right after crashes :smiley:
And seems like cause of this i got some LVL bug or smth. Just finished showdown, headed to safehouse. Checking my level - 820. Returning to main menu - level 828. Restarted game - safehouse 828, main menu 828. Heh

For those experiencing SDK crashes, a new version of the SDK has been made which apparently makes things better but requires a github account

I almost got killed by Joanne Bayswater in Mendoza, in the 4th segment of the campaign. I messed up a bit at some point, and then I see someone in heels, white suit, silenced pistol in hand. I was out of ammunition, I reload as best I can, the RB button on my controller has been going off for a while, and she aims at me with her silencer, I get 3/4 bullets, the screen turns grey, but I manage to hide, fully reload and kill her.

It’s really good to have thought of turning her into a guard AI behavior in combat, I didn’t expect that.

I am converting more and more people to Freelancer Variations lmao.

But of course, she’s a trained rival assassin with a high kill count, it’s not like she’d cower with no weapon or something?

Update 0.9.8 - Fixes and Tweaks

  • Isle of Sgail: Day - Overhauled lighting to improve time of day, reduce ugliness and brightness/darkness issues
  • Paris: ETs Showdown - Included Basement Exit fix that was meant to be in version 0.9.5
  • Hokkaido Snow Festival: Night - Fixed lots of indoor rooms being very dark
  • Patient Zero - Fixed player always being spotted on Morgue start
  • The Rage: Daytime - Moved supplier to somewhere he won’t be permanently ‘busy’

NO SDK/Json update is required, as no variants are added or have their name changed

Got a bug after quting Landslide mission.
It is the ending. Not sure that it is Landslide or Landslide(Summer day)
Also all objectives completed, but there no mercers for this or perfrect run bonus

Lighting Ultimate Compatibility note

Thanks mainly to changes in SMF, the compatibility issues with Lighting Ultimate 2.3 have been heavily reduced. However one particular LU option remains troublesome for this mod: If you turn off the Colorado - The Vector and Regular Colorado options (Regular Colorado will be fixed in next mod update) it will work

We’ll look into a better solution later, but for now just do that, which won’t matter anyway because my version of Vector is based on the LU 2.0 version of Vector (but with added lighting stuff for indoors, since Vector is a sniper map)


Yeah, this is a known bug since launch day. However I can’t at all get it to happen on my PC, which means everything is hooked up properly on my mod’s end. I suspect this is SDK related :confused:

No idea why the SDK would hate specifically Landslide for only some people, but here we are :woman_shrugging:

In sapienza (the author variation), one of the clues levitates in the middle on the church. I suspect Wingardium Leviosa wizardry going on there.

In berlin (showdown EE variation), one of the suspect is in a place where he should not be.

First one makes sense since usually there’s a table there, I can fix that

Second doesn’t make sense, as the geometry of the map hasn’t changed :thinking:
May be a vanilla bug, someone during CTT test reported a suspect walking on the roofs of Whittleton Creek

The night variations allow to have more tension in the investigation, I like that. Btw, were all the light sources set up by hand ?
