HITMAN VR (Discussion)

Ugh. I wish Microsoft would do VR.

I am an avid fan of the VR. Here’s some shots and videos from my VR experience while I’m stuck in Offline mode:
Paris Double Kill

Entering the NY Vault

The details on objects are great.

And hiding in boxes is now awkward!

Dear IO-Interactive, pls rework / investigate a few things on PSVR.

  • Add an ON/OFF switch for the “grid-zone” mode
  • Give us a “put current item to Inventory” - button
  • Add a button to toggle the sniper, it is awful at the status now, it works but how it works isn’t very well, I am not talking about the vr-flat switch while aiming with a Sniper rifle, more about the way how you move while a sniper is in your hands, because as soon you look up, you get into sniping/aiming mode which is annoying.
  • More precision “stady aim” please, I noticed this the most on “Situs Inversus”, where I have to use a steady aim for Soders heart through the glass but it was very hard to hit with “Silverballer” / Krugermeier, so I had to use a sniper rifle to hit by one shot. I noticed that the tracking always put my aim position a few millimeters to the left while I was aiming with a pistol.
  • The tracking at “blend in” moment’s doesn’t work right at least for me, I need to move the Dualshock but how I do it, doesn’t work out how it should out to be. For an example: When I clean a table and do a “right to left” move, it goes up and down.

After all, it is really awesome and you did a very good job but if you will investigate my first three points (Grid mode ON/OFF, put Item to Inventory button, Sniper Movement), Hitman 3 will be one of the best PSVR Games even without ps move Controller support.

I second this. Your first three points are the standout ones for me as well in my limited playtime.
I cant really play that long. Getting nauseous really quickly when i play vr. Which is not a hitman thing, any vr game does that to me. So im good for 30 minutes before i gotta turn it off.

On that note, the snap right/left option really helps here. Which is good and also a dilemma since i like the smooth turning more for immersion reasons obviously.

Seems like a great mode so far and i will jump in deeper after i did some more flat hitman.
The goofing around will keep me long entertained.

I third your comment. A quick equip/unequip button would make it easier to pick up items.

The VR mode is plenty of fun and feels immersive. Gunfights are really exciting and every shot that hits feels rewarding.

The upclose details on objects is tremendous, and it’s awesome to see the WOA through new eyes.

I don’t know why I didn’t think of this opportunity sooner!

I have the power!

Hacking people with the Broadsword was pretty entertaining, and you can use the sword to break items, move things around and open doorways.

I wish they did add Move controllers one day.

In VR, some moments are crazy, really annoying that it is exclusive to PSVR.

I didn’t think I needed a mode like this but now I do. One night, standing in front of the game and playing like this, yes, yes yes yes yes, give me that on PC.

This is exactly how I’ve been playing in VR. The mode is most fun when you’re not playing the game “properly” as a silent assassin.

It’s so much fun just having gun fights and running around creating mayhem.

Fingers crossed that they will make it available on PC once it comes to Steam :stuck_out_tongue:

Those who have played in VR, how does it feels? Does it live up to the hype?

I tried Paris last night and it’s really good. Certainly adds a new perspective to the level. My only criticism is that it isn’t very well optimised for ledge climbing etc. It ended up making me feel very nauseous. This is coming from someone who can usually play any VR game without comfort settings for hours with no issues. Picking up bodies is very clunky as well. Other than that I’m surprised they got it looking so good. I’m on ps5 so not sure if the game recognises that and is enhanced accordingly

interesting

This is reassuring news for VR people.
I was under the impression Playstation was done with VR, what with new VR titles currently being absent from the PS5 as well as support for the games as well (i.e.: get the PS4 version of Hitman 3 to use for VR rather than through the PS5 version)

I wonder if IO was originally (or simultaneously) developing Hitman for PS5 VR. It’s always felt awkward that you’d have to boot into the last-gen version for VR, especially with Sony supposedly throwing money at IO to develop Hitman as a VR showpiece

Not really much discussion on VR, but today was the first time in Hitman I’ve ever gone out of bounds (OOB) and I did it while in VR.
Here is a couple quick videos I made today:

Catching Sierra Knox out of her car, on the racetrack (while OOB)

Watching Sierra push the Mascot down the hole (cool view point OOB)

Lastly, I mentioned that the throwing distance in VR is huge!! Here is a little unique trick I did, that I don’t think you can in the standard game:
