HITMAN VR (Discussion)

Ah grand. Thanks!
Have we seen that already or how do you know?

You can indeed knock NPCs out with your fist or slap them with an open hand. The crowbar has better reach though and can be thrown as an attack or used as a distraction

That makes my day! Double thanks

I really hope that Hitman VR will be available for more than one platform. This is such a goldmine that it would be foolish to keep the exclusivity forever - creative sandbox games like that are desperately needed on VR!

For me, Hitman VR is something cool enough to justify the purchase of VR helmet and accessories even if it will be the only VR game Iā€™ll ever play.

Thats exactly my thinking. A full blown AAA game where you arent on rails for walking or the rest is lackluster because VR is the gimmick, is what VR needs to become more mainstream.
The hitman sandbox brings me tremendous joy on its own. Now theres even more with VR.

I picked up the headset last month when it was on sale. Its seems to me there arent many good games on playstation for vr. So Hitman might as well stays the only proper game i play for it.
But thats the one game i needed to justify the purchase.

I have a feeling it will get the pc vr treatment later down the line just as they do it with steam. It would be a waste if they wouldnt.

Only situation I could see that doesnā€™t involve them moving on entirely is making Hitman VR on pc an Oculus exclusive once the sony exclusivity deal is over.
Would be less egregious than Epic/PSVR imo, and make aton of people happy seeing it on pc at all

Nope, I only see one hand, the other is an illusion in your mind :female_detective:

Idk, probably not.

Are we supposed to play VR with the DualShock 4 in one hand? I canā€™t really picture how this will play if I am honest but I am sure IO have done a good job. I am sceptical though at how smooth and enjoyable general gameplay will be when we only have one hand to do everything with. Some of the gifs and footage shows 47 running while shooting, so I guess we wonā€™t be able to use the joystick for movement.

You navigate via Dualsticks and aim with the gyro sensor / lightbar tracking. At least is that how No Manā€™s Sky VR without Move Controller worksā€¦ so I think it will be similar.

You should just hold it like you would for any other game with 2 hands and then use gyro as @CloudMcRip is saying. Iā€™m not the most experienced VR player, but when Iā€™ve tried it Iā€™ve been surprised at how well it has worked

Thatā€™s ideal I think, thank you

Connected my PSVR to a console for the first time since October 2016 in preparation.

Only ever used it the first week I got it, since then itā€™s sat in itā€™s box.

HYPE.

Anyone else excited to see how some things in VR could be exploited for speed runs? Iā€™m trying to avoid spoilers, but from what I read, aiming and shooting feel unstable so idkā€¦but i still think our community here is creative enough to do some cool runs with it :+1:

One of the really cool things about the VR, is just how large you can make the screen (think almost movie theatre). I enjoyed playing the sniper assassin portion, as well as causal sniping with the VR, with the large scope.

I havenā€™t considered speedrunning yet, VR gets kinda hectic when you have to look around a lot, so I go kinda slow.

I just played this for 90 minutes in Dubaiā€¦ This mode is amazing fun. I wasnā€™t playing it like a Hitman game. I was just screwing around really.

Will definitely be having lots of fun with this.
