Huh, that’s tricky then!
I wouldn’t drop hints. The fun of this game is to guess, to search and explore the maps. If this takes a little longer it’s ok as well.
Anybody yet? Alright, I’ll drop two small hints:
-
None of the map guesses for this one were correct so far.
-
This is a Hitman 2 map.
I wanna say it’s one of those random rooms in Miami. Maybe near the security office, but could also be Kronstadt
I’ve had a decent look around all the H2 maps now and yet I still haven’t found this arghhh!
Okay, I have it, at last. A pretty tricky one, but…
It’s the security room in the art warehouse on Sgail.
Next!
This may be a little presumptuous of me, as someone who’s only been playing along for the past couple of weeks, but it strikes me that the most recent image may be a little too vague.
The problem is not necessarily the closeness of the “camera” to the objects seen in frame, but the combination of that closeness AND the nondescript nature of the stuff in vision. Previous rounds featuring “close-up” screenshots have often included distinct details which provide subtle clues leading towards the answer. I’m thinking, for instance, of images such as these…
I am also assuming – based on the apparent graphics quality on display in the lastest screenshot – that this image may have been taken in one of the earlier Hitman games. Keener eyes that mine may find this obvious to decipher, but I’m sitting here wondering if that’s H2:SA, Contracts, Blood Money or Absolution. And, indeed, I’m still entertaining the idea that is could be from WoA – just at lower graphics settings. And, off the top of my head, I’m picturing myriad locations within each one of those games where this image could have been taken.
The reason I mention all this is because, from my perspective, I am not even going to attempt to play this round because it feels like it would require a prohibitative time-investment on my part if I wanted to have any hope of finding the location. Although I realise someone could soon arrive to embarrass me by swooping in with the correct answer…
It’s not H2SA and judging by the quality it’s either Absolution or WoA. It looks even too sharp for Blood Money Reprisal.
Nothing is coming to mind so I’d guess Absolution, perhaps from the cornfield level.
… to be honest though, it reminds me of Skyrim more than Hitman!
This is a good point to raise actually that I had not even considered, I suppose it was never specified to be only WoA… Like @The_Elite_Institute said, it’s possibly Absolution looking at the graphics, and that canister does look vaguely Absolution-y to me. But I think there’s quite a lot of brick walls in that game
Yeah I’d say Absolution but outside of a vague guess, i wouldn’t be able to pinpoint it. Nor play it to find out!
Well, I found it. Old bricks and dim lighting immediately made me think of ruins on Ambrose Island.
I’ll be honest, I couldn’t find it on my first attempt for some reason despite looking into this room, but I got it eventually. It’s one of the holding cells / torture rooms. Good old Mr. Skeleton with a helpful bone lockpick is just to the left.
Feeling a bit cheeky, so here’s my next picture! A peculiar collection of hats… Where is it?
Good find! Thank goodness I don’t have to replay Absolution in search of it.
I’d say the ICA Yacht perhaps, given the captains hat!
Hm I though that might be the Bangkok security chief’s hat with the butterfly? Then Cuba guard, and Gama guard. It is an unusual collection for sure.
Very true. It seemed like a mix of places, which is what made me think it was a training level
It would make sense you’re right, though isn’t all the furniture on those levels like not real furniture? It’s all made of wood pallets and stuff right? I don’t know if there are any wardrobes like that
Ok I know where this one is now actually, I had a suspicion and just confirmed it. But I’ll let it run a bit longer see if anybody else gets it…
This is something I did want to raise with @Hotel_Pollisya actually. In the rules, you’ve stated that “any mainstream Hitman game” is allowed. To my knowledge, all rounds so far have been WoA locations. Given that most players have WoA installed, but not necessarily all the other games, I wonder if a ‘WoA only’ rule would be worthy of consideration?
However, it seems I have jumped the gun somewhat, since it remains the case (contrary to my earlier assumption) that nobody has yet posted anything from beyond WoA, so we don’t yet have any sense of how much that could affect the difficulty curve.
It seems I have drawn everyone’s attention, now, to a way of increasing the difficulty… whoops!
Also, @Hotel_Pollisya - do you have any thoughts on the other points I raised above? Aside from that you’ve already proven to be more than capable of finding a location I thought would be far too nondescript!
