No one mentioned that in Hokkaido, in the security room (not the one in the morgue), there is a locker that if you open you’ll find one of the varients of the keycard hackers (I think it’s the scrambler but I’m not 100% sure)
This one isn’t a bringable item but I have no idea where to write it, instead of the case file in Dartmoor you’ll find a “Mansion Master Key” quite useless if you ask me since most doors are unlocked anyway.
There are quite a lot of locked doors in alerted mode so it can come in handy, although it’s probably easier to just bonk the butler and grab the one in his room (unless you start at the top of the mansion I guess?).

A really good job, although I don’t think you can keep the lethal pills from Helen’s basement in Whittleton? I was only ever being able to keep the emetic ones, as the lethal ones have no rarity.
Since we’re on the topic of poisons, there’s still a lethal syringe in the basement of the house in Colorado. Berlin has a sedative syringe in a locker near the DJs (with the key being nearby on a table), and Miami has two lockers with them, one in the big medical area near the medic disguise, and another in a smaller medical area near the Kronstadt booth. The key to both lockers is in the main medical area on a desk. On Haven, there’s an emetic syringe in an infirmary under the gym (it can’t be taken without shooting the window AFAIK, so KO the guy in the room first :x ).

I haven’t been to colorado much in freelancer so that’s good to know at least.
For the Haven syringe, you can just throw a heavy object at the case and it’ll break the glass. A briefcase at the right angle can do it, though you’ll wake the guy sleeping there and he’ll probably investigate & get in your way…
Colorado also still has the Baseball Bat on the house’s second floor, leaning against a drawer by the stairs. By the way, does anyone know if Zana Kazem spawns in Dubai? I tried to find him to pacify him for his Folding Knife but couldn’t find him nor the lady that talks to him
I don’t think he’s there in Freelancer, but the folding knife can easily be found in Sapienza (on a table with 2 bodyguards, on the large balcony overlooking the pier) or Ambrose (in the cave with the satellite thing you have to blow up, near the boat keys). There’s also one in Haven in the lockers of the server farm IIRC.
Thanks to this thread, I’m walking out of Sgail with the Fusil G2, the Hackl 9S Covert, the Sapper’s Axe, the Mace (stashed in the free briefcase found in the Warehouse building, so that all 3 large weapons could be carried) and the ICA19 Shortballer (a Supplier purchase in the level) like:
Hm, I could have sworn that the lethal poison automatically converts into lethal pills upon your return to the safehouse.
I can however happily inform you that the remote explosives that the police confiscate from the exterminator do get converted into an equivalent freelancer tool when you bring it back.
The sheet says “HF Championship Bat - Director’s Office”, but when I looked for it, I found only the regular bat in his office. Maybe random?
Also, I found a police baton in the guard’s office (opening area in Hokkaido), maybe you want to add that

Hm, then something weird is going on. I suspect that if you already have these items, they show up in 47’s inventory back at the safehouse as if you carried them.
Either way, I’ll remove it since clearly something odd is going on.
The modern syringes you craft in the safehouse infirmary are real tools that you can keep, but you have to place them in their slots manually, they might bug out & vanish if you drop them.
You can make 2 completely free every visit, or all 3 if you’re willing to sacrifice another tool (gas mine, emetic poison vial, lethal poison vial) to make up for there only being 1 mushroom outside.
Mushroom + Syringe = Modern Emetic Syringe
Mushroom + Shed = Lethal Poison Vial + Syringe = Modern Lethal Syringe
Fish + Knife + Cutting Board = Sedative Poison Vial + Syringe = Modern Sedative Syringe
Every time I’ve lost my tools, doing this is my go-to. However, I’ve not once had the issue you described; I’ve been able to drop them and they go into the toolbox without incident.
