I just wanted to do an introduction post on myself as I will be supporting Samir / Combatglue with his work for the Hitman community
I’m Maartje, and I have been at IOI for about a year and a half. I started as a QA and took on an internship in the marketing team a while back, so I am currently splitting my time between teams. I’m looking forward to meeting you all and interacting with your posts!
Workwise I have been in the game industry for about 4 years, starting out at Ubisoft where I was QA and assistant user researcher on XDefiant and Star Wars Outlaws. Before that I did tons of other stuff, my last gig before gaming was project management at a government organization relating to crime and social work.
Outside of work, I love travelling, so I try to do that a lot. I have a British Shorthair cat at home who loves to use the sofa I sit on as a race track. Game wise I play a lot of relaxing games in my free time to wind down after a long day at work ( I am too competitive to relax doing anything that involves competition :D). I love Pokémon, Ghibli, retro gaming, vintage furniture and ceramics, tattoos, thrifting, music and concerts, and true crime.
Aside from my QA work where I can cheat, I am not a very good Hitman player :D. Stealth is not my strongest point, but I love watching people play that are actually good at it and I am in awe! I love exploring the levels and the world of Hitman, with all the quirks, strange NPC conversations and creative opportunities.
On the forum, I will try to be present as much as I can to read about your ideas, frustrations, wishes, and feedback. I plan to go through the Wishlist category soon and write up a report for the team on it. So if you have something in mind that you haven’t penned down yet: this is the time!
Please don’t forget to look through the bug report threads as well, since there are still some very annoying ones that need to be fixed and we don’t know if IOI is aware of them :x
Welcome! I look forward to conversing with you more in the future, and hopefully we’ll even have the opportunity to chat if you’ll also be dealing with the press too!
thanks for bringing that up! I will go through those as well. I might sometimes reply with the request to report it in to our official support desk so we can keep track of issues in our database.
We mainly work with the support platform HITMAN 3 Player Support (zendesk.com) as it allows us to track issues a lot more easily. I will do my best to read into this thread and might ping people to put in a ticket if we are unaware of the issue noted there. It will take me some time to go through these issues and check them, so if something is super pressing please contact the support desk for help as it will be much faster.
Welcome. Glad to see a two-person point of contact again. If I were to speak on behalf of the rest of the forum (a position nobody is going to nominate me for, btw, and I wouldn’t really blame them), the order of concern would be:
fixes to bugs and glitches
release of items already locked into the game but unavailable to players (the coin in Freelancer
release of new, more diverse content/reordering of the re-release of existing content (e.g. reshuffle the ET release and bring us faces we haven’t seen in a while/adding new versions of disappointing ET missions in Arcade mode/suits and items that have been requested for a long time)
That would be the place to start and focus efforts, if I’m reading the room correctly.
Damn. Submitting a bug via Player Support is quite a frustrating experience.
I know they’re given a process to follow when reporting a bug, but they don’t seem to deviate from it as appropriate. ie you could report a bug where the splash screen of the game had been changed to a photo of Hakan in a hot tub and they would still reply asking you to update GPU drivers etc when it clearly wouldn’t do anything in relation to what is being reported.
The Bug Thread here served as an easier way to report things without being made to jump through pointless hoops for it to get logged.
