Honestly I just think it’s crazy that in one year (actually just around 6 months) playstation had two headline-making live service titles on opposite spectrums of public opinion.
Helldivers 2 that was SO POPULAR people couldn’t play for like a week at launch because the servers were overloaded.
And now Concord. A game that is SO UNPOPULAR they’re already shutting it down (for now at least)
I mean, it’s probably not just the unpopularity that is driving this. I bet they crunched a bunch of numbers on recent player counts, realized it’d be a while before their first “big update” that could bring in new players, and realized… yeah we’re not gonna be making enough money off this for the next few months (and the whales aren’t buying it seems either)
I don’t even play or am a fan of minecraft, so I don’t really care about this movie either way but…
I WANT TO KILL IT WITH FIRE
This is really gonna be a movie where a bunch of real people walk around a green screen set…? The animation in this looks pretty good, so… why couldn’t they go that one final step further and make the main “human” characters animated too???
My mind’s eye, the third eye flickers open and I see it as clear as day: 32 percent on Rotten Tomatoes’ critic score, 65 percent audience score and over a billion at the box office in terms of revenue.
Your nephews will quote this film like Star Wars for the rest of the year.
If the report is true that this has a $150 million budget, going down the live action route just seems baffling. At least with the Sonic movies, those have the excuse that they are produced on relatively more modest budgets and more modest box office so doing a full CGI film isn’t affordable. But Minecraft? Come on, it’s a franchise for all ages, and will almost certainly make its money back, surely an animated movie would make more sense?
Fascinated who at Hollywood thinks that taking a property like this and throwing in real people into it is something anyone wants.
Planet Coaster’s Ghostbusters DLC pack gets delisted tomorrow due to the licence expiring. I went and bought it for myself before it’s gone but it does get frustrating this seems to happen so much in the gaming space.
Y’know what also gets delisted soon? A music license. (Alan Wake is okay, and the Remaster will remain unchanged. However, the OG will lose David Bowie.)
