I’m assuming it might just be a simple “Remaster” much like the PS4 got a year after the PS3.
The possible addition of “new things” like an interactive Gustavo NPC is surprising, as the original game’s Remaster was a simple up-res and bundle of the game and DLC.
I’d assume this is just to make TLOU2 compatible with PS5 features like instant loading and dualsense vibration. But I could be wrong?
I think re-cutting the game like that isn’t the best option. As a bonus feature after finishing the main game probably, but as an option from the start, I don’t think so.
While I think the story’s impact is diminished due to how long and slow of a burn it assaults you with graphic imagery and dark themes, having Ellie and Abby’s sections be completely isolated from each other was intentional, so that the perspective swap could have a shocking moment and really tunnel-vision you (at least starting as Ellie) into experiencing the same relentless despair and emotion as that character…
I really really hope there’s some upgrade path for this new edition.
I hear this a lot and I couldn’t disagree more. Alternating perspectives would mean experiencing Abbey’s story a lot earlier and that would only undercut the emotion and focus of Ellie’s story.
That is what I was thinking as well, the first Last of Us got a PC release as brand synergy with the show so I am expecting this to be some sort of PC port.
Sega has uploaded the animated intro cutscene of Sonic Superstars. I love that they’ve been doing this for alot of Sonic games lately, they have so much charm packed into them.
What a stink. Dolphin would’ve been fantastic on Steam, and to backfire tremendously served as another step backward into preserving video games that long since ceased from brick-and-mortar stores years ago.
Just another day for the copyright goons at the Nintendo office I guess…
