People have been floating around that it might have to do with NFTs, through the program that they quietly shut down to put to use at a later time.
Other games have had “Simulated Gambling” as a tag for lootboxes and things like that, but this “Real Gambling” is new, something we haven’t seen before as a main game mechanic it seems. One that would let you wager actual human dollars on something that’s a gamble
And that’s probably NFTs awarded to you, in game, that you’re able to sell out to whomever you want on your own time. But it’s a gamble as to what NFT and what price that item might be fetching
Regardless of whether that’s true of not it would be pretty hilarious to see this skip out on Console stores since I’m sure they don’t host any AO games at all out of principle.
“Our shared enthusiasm for Web3 gaming makes this an exciting partnership for us and we look forward to gaining insights that can advance the creation of all-new gameplay experiences for gamers across the globe.”
I guess the mark of respect is nice, but I imagine I can probably watch it on another Nintendo channel, or one of the game journalist website Youtube pages that will stream it as well. Ah well.
Nintendo says the livestream will focus on releases for this holiday season. So I’m guessing that will probably mean some Splatoon 3, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, and Bayonetta 3 coverage. The big rumours are Zelda Wind Waker and Twilight Princess HD versions making their way to the Switch and Metroid Prime trilogy remaster, perhaps in time for the holidays?
My main N64 games were Super Smash Bros and Pokemon Stadium 2.
I always have a soft spot for early 3D games, especially if they are dystopian/scifi. Not really the case for the Bond game but still potentially nice for me.
Idk, i kinda despise them nowadays. Sure, they were mind blowing back then, but i think they have aged horribly, the only games i still play from back then are the original 3 Resident Evil Games with their pre-rendered backgrounds.
I prefer the timeless spritework that the SNES games had, they are still beautiful to look at
To me they feel scifi because they are not photorealistic. It is not like I am exploring a fictional world but more like I am exploring a virtual world. Something that is “extrarealistic”. Hard to explain.
I played the original Deus Ex way after it was released but for me that is the one that fits this category the best.
