Game News Thread

I have mixed feelings on the Goldeneye port, for mostly selfish reasons. Glad it is finally being released for the many who have played it the game. But for me, my childhood Bond game, which has a fantastic multiplayer component, is the console version of Nightfire. Not to mention Everything or Nothing is also a great Bond game too, both of which deserve some kind of loving remaster and re-release at some point.

I am simply speechless, this looks absolutely incredible

A shame the combat still looks so similar to the 2018 game, but narratively this all looks great and far better than the 2018 game.

GoW 2 was also identical to the original 2005 release and no one was bothered by that. Why fix something that ain’t broken

don’t take this the wrong way because i’m genuinely curious about your take on this, but you’ve mentioned not liking tlou because of how it has inflicted gaming with cinematic pretensions. isn’t the new direction for gow an offshoot of that
?

Because gow 2018 didn’t have the best combat system and i wish theyd improve on it

It is, the original 2018 gow heavily suffered from that direction, and ragnarok is probably also gonna suffer from that. But for now im staying positive with the stuff theyve shown so far

It also fixed one of the major complaints of too few boss fights, and GoW 2018 has exactly the same problem. Oh and also the fact that atreus is annoying and unlikable as hell.

and that the story repeats itself with two climbs up to the mountain, a secondary trip through helheim thats uninteresting. the poor combat and lack of enemy variety. repeat bosses, especially the trolls and valkyries.

YES!!!

Oh wow I hadn’t realised it was a remake. I thought since it used the Like a Dragon title, it was a sequel to the most recent Yakuza Like a Dragon game.

It’s sensible to use that title given that this game isn’t about the yakuza, but fact is, having used the Like a Dragon subtitle for Y7 probably confuses people unfamiliar with the series now.

Regardless, I’m really happy they’re doing a PC port of Ishin. The studio head said a year or more ago that they would like to do it, but it would need to be a remake rather than a mere remaster. If the Judgment ports also turn out to be true, then that will be almost the entire franchise on PC. My backlog is already crying (with joy). :dragon:

Damn, that was quick

Also, Y8 officially announced and a spin-off with Kiryu as well. Good times.

There’s also a “Like A Dragon 8” trailer out. Good day to be a Yakuza (though that series name is out) fan.

WTF have they done to Kiryu’s hair?

EDIT: AND THE DOJIMA LIEUTANENTS ARE BACK?

Yes, and buy into the hundreds of dollars of DLC already released and probably still planned ahead. It’s pretty obvious what they’re doing here

That’s not too bad, considering the base game can be sufficient once you install some um
 Wonderfully Wonderful mods. :smirk:

My copium would like to think that it means a Sims 5 (opens in new tab)announcement is imminent. After all, The Sims 4 is the longest-running entry in the series, celebrating its eighth anniversary earlier this month.

This makes sense. The game also has the most number of packs ever in the series, including that Star Wars tied-in dumpster fire. Making TS4 for free could means more profit from selling expansion contents.

That’s pretty much the whole idea. If someone decides to buy a DLC or two then it’s already a win for EA.
Or if you’re a crazy youtuber and decide to buy all DLCs for a video

Or even better, claiming a free copy of TS2 Ultimate Collection from Origin, providing you’re a proud owner of the most legendary entry of the series. That’s what I did. Though I have to admit I did buy TS4 base game just for the mods.
