Pentiment now has a release date : November 15th.
That New Tales from the Borderlands trailer sure was⊠a trailer.
It doesnât look awful but hasnât hooked me in any way.
I donât know what engine Gearbox uses but the graphics are pretty detailed. No real gameplay though. I wonder if theyâll copy the original point-and-click format
They say thereâs members from the original writing team on this but I canât find specifically who. And the term âkey alumniâ keeps getting repeated in press releases so Iâm worried itâs all overblown just for marketing-speak.
Edit: oh my god the âkey alumniâ is Kevin Bruner. Heâs got NewTFTB on his web page. He nearly destroyed Telltale from the inside out. What horrible irony heâs back on this.
Telltaleâs The Expanse looks good.
Deck Nine is developing and Telltale is writing for it.
The environments look good and the ship exploration looks like it should be fun. I like the stylized realism theyâre going for.
No other real gameplay, but it feels like choices will be involved once again.
Not too invested, but Iâll probably have to get into the show to understand whatâs going on. It being a prequel to it is a good choice.
I skimmed over the rest of the gamescom stream, not too much interested me.
The Lies of P game looks really interesting.
I donât know why everyoneâs got Pinocchio projects coming out all of a sudden but this one is the most eye-catching adaptation to me.
Steampunk Pinocchio aw yeah.
Because it is public domain which means basically anyone can make Pinocchio so long as you donât make him look like the Disney one.
That is why there are so many Pinocchioâs that have the whole world to see.
Ahh didnât know about that thanks
Same reason weâre getting Winnie the Pooh: Blood and HoneyâŠ
It only took a studio closure to have them change that engine that they have been using since 2005
I used to be a massive Borderlands fan, and as someone who loves the original Tales From the Borderlands, that trailer is⊠interesting, I guess? Pretty sure I saw Rhys for a brief second there, so would be nice to see more of him, or indeed, any other Borderlands regulars. Setting the game on Promethea is a real deep cut since that planet was brought up all the way back in the Borderlands 1 expansion, General Knoxx, and Athenaâs backstory is about the planet being a hellscape.
But yeah, not feeling too hyped. The fact the game comes out in 2 months seems a bit⊠concerning. The Steam page says the game is split into 5 chapters, making me wonder if at some point they wanted to make this episodic. ÂŁ35 for the standard version isnât too bad, assuming its about 8-10 hours like the original. But this does also whiff off âshit, we cocked up, lets just get this out and fast as possible and bury it.â
It doesnât help that I really donât like the designs of the 3 major characters, Anu especially looks really weird and I canât quite pinpoint why.
Still need to play the BL3 expansions and get Tiny Tinaâs Wonderlands. The main story for Borderlands 3 was a real damp squib and really screwed over several characters, including one of my absolute favourites, and I donât really get the sense that anyone knows how to push the story and lore of Borderlands forward.
Fran is actually mentioned by Rhys in 3 since Katagawa blows up one of her shops when he has control over that asteroid mining laser and is blowing up things Rhys likes to pressure him into merging with Maliwan.
Thatâs interesting. Iâve only played through properly like twice through, compared to 1 which Iâve done at least 6 times, and 2 and TPS Iâve played through at least a dozen times each. Borderlands is weird in how it has a surprising amount of lore and depth, but at the same time it often feels very untapped for potential.
Yeah, I hope New Tales is good. They said some of the people working on it were also on the original so I have some hope for it still, so far it is one of the few things from yesterdayâs Gamescom stream to interest me.
My favorite Zelda Game
Bezos and Andrew Wilson will make a cute couple.
Not according to the article which has been updated to say that it isnât true though they said NBCUniversal was interested at one point.
That was quick! On 2 May 22, Embracer Group entered an agreement with Crystal Dynamics, Eidos-Montréal, Square Enix Montréal and today they completed the acquisition.
That means they own over 50 legacy IPs and a number of significant franchises, including Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Thief, Sleeping Dogs, all for a cool $300 million deal with Square Enix.
Iâll get to it, eventually
Iâll get to it⊠when itâs on SteamâŠ
