Next time I have a collateral kill via firearms objective I’m bringing in the El Matador. I’ve brought in sniper rifles that (allegedly) have a “piercing” perk and have lined up shots where I should kill both NPCs. But they either don’t actually pierce past the 1st person that’s shot… Well, I did kill both at the same time once, but somehow still failed the objective.
Whatever is up with that I’ll just bring in the El Matador because I haven’t tried it with that yet.
Aside from bug fixes and balancing those objectives a bit I wish they would add in penalty for not retrieving your suit or bonus, same thing. I kind of miss that from the Bloody Money days and it would make sense in freelancer since tools are gone once they are used, you have to bring back any weapons or they’re gone but you can just forget about your suit because 47 has an infinite supply.
If they have a penalty for not changing back into your suit then there should (or could?) be a small suit retrieval fee. But that’d be counterproductive if/when you have a 1 disguise only objective. Because that’d be blown the moment you change back into your suit. Although, technically, you’ve already had that “disguise” on - so that shouldn’t matter. They just need to reword it to only change disguises 1x.
So as interesting or immersive as it seems it’s probably best to not do such a thing.
Sure. But not all of us have the skills or patience to go into hostile territory S/O. And since getting gunned down has a greater penalty than merely changing disguises…
The game can differentiate between worn and fresh disguises so it should be simple enough to switch it to one fresh disguise, then you’re free to change back to your suit.
A 500 suit retrieval bonus wouldn’t be too much, just a small incentive and nothing you’d jeopardize a run over if its too risky.
I would fully support that if we could have a choice of whether to pay that or not. Pay it and get the suit back. Choose not to pay it and lose that suit forever!
And have suppliers sell disguises for lots of mercers and have them wearable on all levels. However it should automatically be credited as 1-2 disguise changes upon arrival so they can’t be used to bypass payout objective limitations on disguises.
Hey, so, I think we all agree that Freelancer mode is really, REALLY fun, but is anyone else in the camp that it feels like we’re playing a beta-build version or something? I’ve been listing so many goddamn issues in the Freelancer Bugs and Imperfections thread, but this last one right here has put me off the game for weeks.
This is some like, real, REAL amateur hour game development here, I really don’t know what else to call it. I’m honestly kind of stunned because before this update, I considered the WOA trilogy to be one (or three) of the most polished, consistent-quality games of this past generation, even with all the annoying “always online” Games as a Service stuff, and then this update drops…and I feel like we’ve regressed to “Hitman World of Assassination (Early Access)”.
I know this mode probably didn’t have the resources or manpower behind it that the main game had, but holy shit, with how long it took to come out, I figured that having your objectives, you know, WORK, would atleast be one of the top priorities here.
They probably forgot to tag Rico’s bat as a bat for the purpose of that prestige objective. Like I totally forgot that it was a “unique” bat until someone on this forum pointed it out, so IOI probably forgot it as well :x
Considering it’s a free addition, released more than two years after we paid for the game, I think some bugs are allowed. Amateur hour… Harsh words.
I don’t think spending resources on polishing and testing for bugs en masse would have made much sense, as it really generates no direct income. They probably had a fairly small team on it. Hopefully they’ve been watching us and have a large patch coming up.
Thats whats so frustrating about it though! So many of these problems with Freelancer are oversights like this that I feel like could have easily been spotted if they had just like, done a few more polish passes, maybe played their own damn maps. You wouldn’t have to upend the entire game’s code to make sure every baseball bat was tagged as “baseball bat”. I just wonder how this stuff slipped through the cracks, even after the CTT.
