I view this like when I made a post about possible paid cosmetic DLC on the old forum. Someone used the term ‘virtual tip jar’. No one’s really missing out by not having it (unless these Escalations are as good as Mills Reverie or otherwise change things up a fair amount, like a Sniper escalation from a hot air balloon in Dubai), but if you want to contribute more to IO you can by buying it.
There are all sorts of people out there who’ll spend money on things, if they wanna get it, good for them, if they don’t, all good too.
For me is worth because I’m and old fan and I want the deluxe suits and excalations, but for me is better 2 new locations and special missions.
I’m a little bit sad because it’s sounds like after finish the game we will not have anymore new locations.
Anyway I bought because I want to help IOI to make new hitman games, is my favorite game since Ps2
I would say the purely in-game stuff isn’t necessarily worth it to me but to the extra stuff like the artbook and soundtrack (even though I doubt I’ll use them that much) make it worth it for me. In all honesty tho I probably would’ve bought it without those include
An interesting point is comparing this poll with one I ran on Yes or No thread a few days ago
I only care about ingame content, so artbooks, soundtracks and commentaries or even physical objects related to games do not Interest me.
Some suits - alright I guess. The Dance with the devil one is iconic and I love that it is included, but on the other hand it looks too out of place everywhere, so I’ll probably never use it
The rifle of the Chongquing pack looks interesting.
Escalations? A one time amusement. I rather play some Contracts. The Hawkes Halloween Escalation was nicely crafted, but in the end it still was only played for one day.
All in all too expensive for what i get out of it.
For me it’s not about getting anything else. It’s just about supporting IO. They are my fav video game house and they are on their own these days (which I think is pretty cool).
The deluxe edition could be different in name only and I would have gotten it. The same is not true of anything I buy from EA or Activision or any of the other big guys.
Did you pre-order within the last few days (or at all)? I did so sometime last week for only $85, turned around and noticed the price has jumped to 95 even with the ps+ discount. Purchased it at $85 due to it being 6 dollars more than standard rather than the MSRP of deluxe at I believe 110 buckaroos.
I feel it’s worth at the price I paid but with this pricing fiasco that seems to be adjusted by the day I would have a hard time grabbing this at full price.
Personally I’d enjoy if the discounts on ps+ were extended to all especially due to the fact all other platforms are technically getting a worse deal for paying more. VR, while cool, I probably won’t bother with because I’m not buying the peripherals only to have to backstep to my ps4 pro to enjoy (as far as I know).
Answering yes and no as well. Love Hitman and Io but having purchased full experience h1 and gold h2, if this deluxe wasn’t on the sale that it was I was prepared to wait for a much later purchase. Hate to state it but these games do drop in price rather quickly, so quickly that it seemed h2 went 30% off or more within a month or two iirc.
I preordered within the last week, yes.
But the sale price has remained the same since August, I’m sure.
Make sure you didn’t buy the PS5 version accidentally if you’re getting it for PS4 instead.
For some odd reason, either through Sony or IOI, both Playstation versions are the same price, however, the PS4 version is discounted by 10% on PS+ (~$95) whereas the PS5 version is discounted by 20% (~$85).
Seems weirdly priced and weirdly skewed for PS5 buyers, especially considering they should be trying to win over the PS4 users instead, the ones with the much higher adoption count at the moment.
Ah, I remember this. I’m pretty sure it was by the first week of December 2018 that they discounted not only the Standard version by 30%, but also the Gold version as well!
Felt like a stab in the back as a Gold purchaser, since none of that Gold content had even come out yet, nor did we know exactly what the roadmap for it was!
This time, luckily, there aren’t any huge DLC passes, and a lot of the Deluxe stuff we’re going to get Day 1, so it’s worth it there for me and we know exactly what the value/money it is.
Just as a game, no. I appreciate the entertainment that IO has provided to me since 2016 and for that reason, I support them via the purchase of the Deluxe Edition. Most other companies I would have bought regular.
Unsure how to quote you properly as I’m on an old iPad at the moment. I was unaware the discounts varied between both the PS4 and 5 (wow wtf). I am indeed stalking the ps5 version so you’ve completely cleared my confusion as to why I’ve witnessed both of these differing prices in the ps5 store oddly enough. Thank you for that.
It indeed burned my arse feeling like day one supporter meant day one sucker lmao. End of the day though I’ve enjoyed enough hours to warrant the dollars spent. Looking forward as well to having our content drop day 1 with no further expections via maps or what have you.
Now if they surprise us with goodies going forward that are yet unannounced… I mean I wouldn’t have much to complain about haha
I’m in Canada and the store states both the deluxe for PS4 ($95) and PS5 ($85) are discounted from $110 with a ps+ membership. Standard being $79, grabbed the deluxe for 6 more dollars. I’m hearing others have to shell out 50% more than their countries’ standard edition for the deluxe. No options for discounts at all.
Edit- looking at the pic you provided it shows a tiny yellow ps+ besides both deluxe editions. Will that price change upon release I wonder? It states that the discounted price will discontinue on the date of release here.
Well, since IOI has announced that PC players who already own Hitman 2 shouldn’t have to buy it again, I will say that I’m now alot more likely to buy the Deluxe edition. I feel more willing to pay the extra money now that IOI has gone back on something that was anti-consumer, and as such, I don’t feel bitter about the idea of buying the Deluxe version.
So yeah, mind you I literally get paid hours before Hitman 3 goes live, so I guess it depends on how I feel by then. But with the 10% discount from GMG, yeah, I think I may go for the Deluxe version.
It’s hard to say whether the Deluxe Edition is worth it since we haven’t seen what makes these escalations/suits/items “Deluxe”, or if they’re just regular things shoved behind a paywall for money and have no new information since they first shared Deluxe details.
Will be interesting to revive this thread in six months/a year and see what the feedback is then.
