Yes or No...? 2

Apex Predator no doubt. Hitman games have something about raves and nightclubs that are always so memorable and the mision itslef is for me the best in the whole game. Also the club mix ost is sooooo goood.

Was being pro-active. Last time I made an argument about war on another forum, someone who thought they were smarter than they really were had to pipe up about how none of that would happen if women were in charge. Wanted to nip that blatantly false line of thinking in the bud before anyone got a mind to bring it up. That was a long two weeks at that forum.

ah, okay. which forum was that?

probably 4chan by the looks of the argument

I can’t remember it’s name but it was one of the earlier forums dedicated to the Batman Arkham games. I think it went down in 2011 or 12.

how the hell did the topic of female leaders come into the equation, were they talking about the harley quinns revenge dlc or something

christ. that sounds awful.

Like I said, it was a topic about war, and somebody brought up that view point. I’m pretty sure it was an off topic section of the forum, and that’s why we were talking about war and not Batman. Can’t quite remember how it started. But yeah, it had nothing to do with female leaders until that opinion was shared, and I learned a lesson: be sure to take that into account if you get on the subject of men starting wars.

For whatever it’s worth, my wife thinks that men are nearly infinitely less likely to start wars than women.

I doubt there’d ever be a full-on world war 3 in the future, at least one that involved nuclear weapons for the reason that most countries, even the ones that are really out there, recognize the futility of starting a nuclear war. Every combatant would eventually be dead and there wouldn’t actually be a winner.

No, not a direct war, but instead we’ll just see smaller proxy wars, like Syria.

There are never winners or losers in war. Just whoever is left.

And those who profited.

Agreed, but in the sense that Germany “lost” World War 2, the U.S., USSR, UK (etc) also “won” it. Future wars are unlike to have winners and losers. They’ve Losers and “those who didn’t quite lose as much”.

it’s not a recent change, but did you like it when they removed the slow-motion from instinct?

  • yes
  • no

i remember some people using it to their advantage when aiming, but mostly it was annoying. Absolution’s instinct had slow-motion, which is why i’m guessing it was this way in H1 as well.

I didn’t even know slow motion was removed from instinct, I got so used to aiming with it it became instinct for me to use it when aiming.

Yeah. Instinct alone shouldn’t slowdown time. But I can see how it might be useful while aiming. Then there’s the slowdown of time of Point Shooting - which was way slower.

Surely this has been asked before, but if not…

Would you like for time slowdown while aiming and/or the ‘Point Shooting’ mechanic to return to the game?

  • No, neither should return to the game.
  • Yes. Reimplement slowdown while aiming, but no Point Shooting.
  • Yes. Reimplement slowdown while aiming and Point Shooting.
  • Yes to reimplementing slowdown and Point Shooting, but make it a perk for specific firearms.

I suppose another poll choice would be to make it toggle’able via the options, but… Meh.

And making it a specific weapon perk doesn’t make a lot of sense since it would be 47 doing it, not the gun, but when have games ever made any logical sense?

You forgot: Yes, reimplement point shooting, but no slowdown.

it’s cool seeing people mod the game to bring back point-shooting but I feel like thematically it doesn’t suit HITMAN at this point in time. it’s not the stealthiest approach, although it was lots of fun in Absolution

I still think it might be useful to quickly shoot chandeliers, cameras, vehicles and bullet distractions, especially those that have a very small time window. Point shooting still has room in the newer games, less for clearing out bad guys and more for setting up traps and distractions.

In addition to what v1deost said about the tone of the game, point shooting also feels like a mismatch to the design of the game.

Point shooting is great for a room by room, a puzzle at a time, do and forget/progress, five minute gameplay loop design like in absolution. But for the world of assassination trilogy game design I don’t think it would mesh well.
I even think it would even break some of the level designs (granted it wouldn’t be the first time, hem…briefcase…hem)

It’s certainly a nice bonus in mod, but giving it vanilla as a core possibility…
