Winter Roadmap | Hitman 3

While there isn’t much evidence for it, TSF is strongly suspected to be a reused ET mission from 2016. They did pretty the place up a bit, which actually makes it feel more like a H3 Elusive Target. Federov does also have a unique AI script; He will not go near accident situations, so it’s not exactly “made in 5 minutes”. The lack of Voice acting is weird, not gonna lie.

I would say it’s the worst Hitman 3 roadmap because it’s the only one where there is no new content made by IO at all, they aren’t even involved with featured contracts. That being said, I’m glad to finally do Holiday Hoarders in Hitman 3, meaning I now have all possible suits unlocked that could be obtained in Hitman 2016.

However, some hopeful inferences can be drawn from this roadmap. The Elusive Target Arcade is more than likely going to contain legacy ETs from its launch. It would make no sense to hype it up and have it only contain Hitman 3 ETs when they were all just reran a few weeks prior. The ET arcade is also more than likely going to have suit unlocks, as the Florida Fit with Gloves, Casual Tourist with Gloves, and Suburban Suit with Driving Gloves have had no chance to be unlocked in Hitman 3.

I don’t mind this bc I skipped most of the H3 ETs so at least I can have something to do. Would be nice to have a second chance at the Procurers though since they blew me up with a buggy oven lol

I mean, can we try to look at the positives?

That moment when the YouTube comments are more positive than IOI’s fan forum :eyes: :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Let’s be honest. If you’ve been keeping up with the game for the past 5 years, there’s nothing really special about this.

If you’re a more casual player who comes and goes, only playing Hitman occasionally, this is a pretty nice roadmap of content.
All the H3 ETs in a month and a half is pretty cool too. Especially since we should have access to them again come Jan. 20th

Yes, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to @Clemens_IOI and everyone at IO

To your point about no new content, any new Christmas/New Years thing would likely be an escalation at the current time and any escalation is going to pale in comparison to Holiday Hoarders, especially if they’re released nearly simultaneously. I’d expect any new holiday specific thing to release during Year 2 (next December most likely) so it can stand on its own and possibly be more than just an escalation.

Really, though, it just tells me how seriously IOI seems to be taking Year 2 that they’d sacrifice the next several weeks like this. All the focus is on 2022 and I like that apparent commitment.

I don’t know what people expected given the major update coming just next year.

If there was a new December ET some people would complain that it’s festivities/family/holidays season and they’d miss it. So they’d ask for permanent content instead of an ET.

Obviously the permanent content is coming Year 2, not right now, so…
This roadmap is pretty fair and expected. I don’t see the problem with it.

:joy::rofl::joy: That’s why I don’t mess around with explosives in high pressure situations (if I can help it)!

They just on vacation already as of now

 That was the other possibility but, with them not even doing the contract selections, it seems like they’re going to use at least some of the next few weeks working on their more hyped Year 2. I’d actually assume they spent a lot of this year working on it once they realized the financial viability they had. Needless to say, a Christmas themed escalation, for example, no matter how “quick” or “easy” to make, would not stand up against Holiday Hoarders if they both came out around the same time. So, it seems like, to me, all the focus is on next year, especially when they had a few things laying around to rerelease.

This whole thread just makes me feel old (and I guess I am). I find the whole concept of buying a game and then expecting the publisher to keep giving you things (for free, no less) strange. I used to buy games and that was just what you got. There may be a single patch that came out a year later or so but now we have zero-day content releases that are just expected. If the publishers don’t constantly provide new ways to play the game after it’s released people are disappointed.

I love that IOI has provided ANY content post-launch. To have at least two years worth of post-launch content is simply amazing to me. I have games that I bought and played and then came back to up to a few years later and was surprised to discover that there was stuff in there that I’d never seen before. What a wonderful world!

I find Hitman 3’s base game to basically be perfect. Anything else is a cherry on top. 2016 was released episodically, H2 had an expansion pass to continue the story, H3 finished the story, and everything else was sweet sweet gravy.

Having post-launch content should not be standard. It should be offered, sure, it helps with PR and hype and keeping people engaged in the game, but it should not be given much focus until the game is complete. Hence “POST-launch”. IOI, even with 2016 and 2, make fantastic base-game levels because they prioritise that over anything else. As far as I’m aware, Sapienza was the only map that was ever made to facilitate for DLC, every other map jury-rigged it all.

I get what you’re saying, but bear in mind; they don’t owe us updates on a regular basis. We’ll get them when we get them, as they are working on so many things right now.

Irrelevant. It’s is playable content that we did not have without going back to a prior game. That is something to do to tied us over before they go into a full batch of new content for the upcoming year. If you personally do not enjoy that content that much, you’ll have to make do with everything else we already have until then.

Yes, but this part is not about you. It’s not about us who have finished them. We’ve all had our fun, been having it since release. This is about those who have missed out, and giving them the chance to catch up to the rest of us. Appropriate that is around Christmas time, as it’s giving to those less fortunate. The rest of us are not owed new ETs.

This map is about closing the loop; it is giving players who have missed out on ETs the chance to enjoy them, and giving the rest of us the remaining content we’ve wanted for this game, migrating over from the first two games. At the end of this roadmap period, H3 will be content-complete up to this point. Everybody will have had a chance to access everything that had come before since 2016 that can possibly be made available right now. And then, a whole new batch of content that none of us even knew was coming (but were hoping for) will be arriving. This is something to be grateful for as a community at large, rather than down that we’re not getting the exact Christmas presents we wanted.

The good stuff is coming, everybody. We just have to be patient, and let those who have only recently joined us have their fun like we had.

Perfect.

Lost in the looming long hibernation is that IOI has now repeated their claims of plural modes, missions and maps. I suggest we save any disappointment for if they don’t deliver plural.

I don’t know about everyone else but, for me, IOI hyping up Year 2 like they have and will only to then fail to deliver modes, missions and maps would be the real let down.

They spent the last week or so hyping me up for next year, and will likely continue to do so, and gave me no reason to expect anything crazy for the holiday this year. They gave me what I was looking for, plus a little more because I didn’t even think about featured contracts, for this roadmap. On the other hand, they’ve made actual promises and have me expecting a lot for 2022. That’s when I’ll be really looking to make sure they deliver.

It looks like a “best of the game” roadmap and I’m quite happy to know that this will be the franchise first impression for all the Holidays newcomers. :christmas_tree:

I understand why some here would be a bit disappointed by the roadmap, but one the other hand : two permanent events for the new players who just started this year, so I’m happy for them. And all the ETs will be great for them too (and the Christmas new arrivals).

Personally I will use those almost two months to clean up the last challenges, finally do the patient zero campaigns now that we’ve had all the year 1/7DS unlocks.
I partially thought beforehand that a calmer roadmap would arrive for the more regulars players, all in sincere anticipation for year two.
And for me, I was getting a bit burned out by the game, so a two months breathing time is alright. I get why it wouldn’t be the same for everyone though.

(and congratulation to @Urben and the F7SC for the contract making)

Not “new updates”

Permanent events

How much do you make working for IOI?

If you miss an overly hyped , ET, I don’t think you should be able to replay it. That’s the whole idea….

The roadmap is a mess except for the FCs and to suggest otherwise is a little crazy.

Sorry, was away for some time. And now so many answers. Congrats to @Frote7 and his community and to @Urben for being chosen as curators! Well deserved! (where do we submit contracts for you guys to consider? And where do we send the bribes?)
