Temper your expectations folks. If IOI saw the reaction to ETA and is taking a period of radio silence to make tweaks and improvements, great! But you know what also might be a possibility? That they’re not doing that.
Also, as I’ve joked before, half y’all are gonna finish Freelancer mode in a day and start saying there wasn’t enough new/different/groundbreaking content. Like… yeah.
I’d rather be proven wrong than proven right, for the record. Bring on the proving me wrong I say.
I find it distinctly unlikely that anyone is going to beat 16 campaigns in a day unless they are super committed and have no prior engagements. Even if it’s super easy, surely after the 10th one in a row folks will get bored and try more another day.
I don’t know if Freelancer – by nature – would be able to be “finished”. As long as they offer a diverse selection of objectives, and the missions are varied enough in targets, I’ll be happy.
But yes, I’m not expecting any change to ETA, I just find it strange how Year 2 still has some stuff going on, apart from the video announced things, that we haven’t been updated on early.
Last year Hakan promised “some surprises our community has been asking for a very very long time”. So what could it be? “surprise”, so it might not be something already revealed, right? like freelancer, arcade or Rocky. I used to believe H3 would keep on giving new content, but is seems there’s only ET and Fetured Contracts every month… though I’m still waiting for that “surprises”
Surprises that the community had been asking for for a long time could mean anything to replayable ETs through Arcade mode to a patch that fixes a minor bug people have complained about for a long time. Don’t read too much into the language, it could mean basically anything in a very broad spectrum.
Not necessarily. Probably, but not necessarily. It could have been something as simple as fixing the quality of light on a certain map that had been asked for months on end; that would technically meet the requirement and IO would not have been lying about it. I mean, everyone was asking for a new map, but nobody was asking for Arcade or Freelancer. It never even occurred to anybody.
Replayable ET is a very much requested feature, and while the mode does not provide it in a way many people hoped, it indeed has some elements people wanted.
Safehouse and the currency system are highly requested features.
Yes, but those are only parts of what those modes are providing, and they are not what people had in mind when asked for. Arcade mode and Freelancer, as presented, were complete surprises until the announcement.
bigmooney06 will upload video in which he fricks up massively @Khakiasp will maybe make some artwork of targets? eh
I’ll probably buy it anyway, even tho I will be complaining about IO not giving us enough stuff for our money…
Idk, but for me, the freelance won’t be just a thing for one day, I’m sure it will be get through year more missions and development.
Let’s see what we’ll get today. Generally new contents drop on Thursday.
Maybe featured contracts from IOI or nothing? Currently nothing about new H3 content announced on IOI twitter account.
That’s what I’m saying though. If Hakan says they will have “surprises the community has been asking for”, and we look at what the community was actually requesting back then, what do we see?
We see people asking for replayable Elusive Targets. We got that in Arcade, just not in the way that most were requesting.
We see people asking for new maps. We will get that in the new map that is supposed to come out later this year.
We see people asking for safehouses like the previous games had. We will get that in Freelancer.
I don’t know that a lot of people (maybe none?) were asking for the Freelancer mode itself, but the ability to use the existing maps in new ways, with somewhat random targets, and replayability built in was certainy something that a lot of players were at least suggesting they wanted. Back before Hitman 3 was even released they said something about being able to use all of the maps across the three games in new and innovative ways. That’s what Freelancer is.
It may not be strictly what players thought Hakan meant when he said that but I can easily imagine that what we are seeing this year is what he was referring to and, issues aside, that content does seem to fill the requests that players were making, on the surface at least.
What about the Ghost Mode?It has been deleted for a long time.I know not so many people want to play it.But I don’t want this game to be a single player game.I want it to have an online model similar to the Assassin’s Creed. Players work together to assassinate. Or just like the previous GM.
Ghost mode is dead. IOI pulled plug on it and called failed experiment. Sorry, but they don’t plan on reviving it. Also, wow, they actually did add roadmap. And holy shit, support for Patient Zero campaign? That’s something we’ve been asking for years! I’m looking forward for them.
