I miss both Edinburgh and Turkey. I hope both of you guys get to go to your chosen spot and that it’s just lovely. @SilentWraith i assume you will go have a pint or a dram and the Last Drop. I know it’s silly but it’s fun to be touristy for half an hour sometimes. @Hichkas where in Turkey do you want to go? I have only been to Istanbul and the base at Incirlik.
My plan is to work my butt off in July and earn some coin, we have some plans for music stuff this summer. Lollapalooza being the biggest, but no big trips planned. Maybe we will end up getting to go somewhere.
Istanbul, I had also been in the southern parts once but Istanbul has everything you need from Turkey packed; I’m mostly hyped for the lego land as I was unable to visit it the last two times. I’ll get violent upset if it get closed this time due to any reason
Anywhere in particular in Edinburgh you want to visit? Some of the historical places can be pretty cool. There’s also places outside the city you can go if you wind up driving here.
One more cool thing about pride month before we switch gears, Disney actually did something clever and substantial to celebrate it.
They produced a 35-minute musical special themed around pride, of which the cast and crew were comprised of mostly people from the LGBTQ+ community, and allies.
It’s the longest ad for Disney Plus you’ll ever see, but it’s well-produced and a unique way to mark the occassion.
I’ve been to Edinburgh loads over the years, but this is the first time my friends have gone so I’m acting as a tour guide
There’s a couple things we have lined up, Edinburgh Castle, open top bus tour, one of the whiskey or gin distilleries and climbing Arthur’s Seat. Anywhere else you would recommend?
Well, I’m a history guy, so I would always recommend some of the most historical aspects. National Museum of Scotland is big and has some impressive exhibits, worth even just a quick visit. There’s also the Museum of Childhood, that has a lot of great exhibits that go from the 1800’s to to the end of 1900’s. There’s St Mary’s Close, it’s a street literally buried under another street, you get a tour which talks about stuff like the plague and the plague doctors.
I’m going to work soon, I’ll try and think of anything else that might be interesting in Edinburgh itself. I know more about my area, East Lothian, than I do of Edinburgh itself to be honest. We have Scotland’s Museum of Flight which houses one of the Concordes.
MaximumPezcore and Agent 17 — two names I haven’t seen in a while. How have you both been doing? Sorry for the late reply, but as Quinn noted, I’m not really active on the forum these days. I asked ampburner in March whether he still kept in contact with Bert, Keyser Soze, Kitty, or monkeyman. I also asked about Sclera and Dr. Beatnik. I wonder how many people remember Crazy Horse (aka Durandal), The Cleaner (and his obsession with Grosse Pointe Blank), CosmopolitanSteve, Captain Steve, Logan1911, etc. (I could probably draw up a list of names.)
It’s been several years since I communicated with anyone from those days, Zoo included, but that does sound familiar.
Mr. Grey, whose token insult in 2005 is not repeatable in 2021. I think he rejoined years later as “Violence.”
I joined when I was 14 (December 2004), and I’m 30 now, so I can appreciate where you’re coming from. I fell in love, moved countries, got married.
