What's New....?

So, it’s Prime Day for Amazon Prime members. Amazon likes to hype this up but honestly everytime they do it, I’ve yet to really find any good deals, at least in things I’m interested in. Anyone else find anything they like at a good discount?

Yeah I bought myself a second Echo Dot, I already have one in my living room and now a second one in my bedroom, so I can listen to audiobooks or music at night :hugs:

Who designs those godawful Shirts?

Cant we have something nice, like the Artworks from the Games Boxes? Especially the HD Trilogy?

though something like that would be nice, overdetailed stuff like boxart almost never works on shirts, so simpler stuff is chosen over that.

That reminds me of this Steam profile background, for the game Surgeon Simulator.

I used to rock this one for quite a while.

(Also, uhhh, I’ll file those 2 shirts under “neat design, but I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing one in public”)

Someone stop him! Only one record we had and that’s almost gone.

He now has 109 goals in 178 games for Portugal - level with the all-time FIFA international record, held by Iran’s Ali Daei. If Portugal progress deep into the tournament, it is highly probable that Ronaldo will break that record during Euro 2020.

Portugal has qualified, so I guess the only way to keep the record is to send 47.

I’ve been using Stack Overflow for a few years now, but I hate it more and more as it goes. It’s like a bunch of professionals are sitting somewhere, mocking questions because they are “stupid”. Closing questions instead of answering them, downvoting (it can effect badly) questions because they find it simple/childish/worthless (but that could be an unsolvable disaster to someone else) and a lot else. But it’s a bit hard to abandon such a place, It’s like the youtube of software Q&A.

I also used the site to find solutions to the issues I encountered when I did the final project in college, but never registered an account to ask my question there. Or perhaps my issues were just not so unsolvable at all. :stuck_out_tongue:

I think the reason that there are way too much downvotes and negative replies is because those more experienced users expect the newcomers to search first. There are always problems for every programmer when writing programs, but it’s unlikely that only few will encounter a same issue. So the solution to a problem might be somewhere already, and if a newcomer asks a same/similar question, they will be mocked or even attacked.

What those professionals need to realize though, is that everyone starts as a beginner. Even searching for the right answer takes time and experience. So is the skill of asking questions. Maybe if all users begin to be nice to each other, the place won’t be so toxic. Still though, it’s highly impossible.

That’s how it works in the first place. Search for it. But one thing they have to consider is that different people learn from different sources in different languages. So the question might come up differently in their minds, really. I haven’t asked more than 2 questions, but have encountered dozens from others.

Eh, when pigs fly

Nope, this didn’t happen as quickly as I’d hoped.

Also, woke up 30mins late for a class today. I also had a group presentation to present. Thankfully someone filled in for me, but obviously that’s still bad. Hope my research and handout info makes up for some of it…

School had been draining me the past week with mid-term assignments and tests. I’ve traced the first image already and was starting to edit it, but even then, I’m getting art block

God I can’t wait till Sunday. One more day of work and then it’s a week of a break.

Back at work last night, I saw a trashcan that nobody put a plastic bag/liner in. And people had already thrown a few things in there. One of those items was a mostly eaten bowl of oatmeal. I dumped most of the other items out into another trashcan, then put on a glove and found a card to scrape this goo up. I did not smell it, only saw it… As gooey strings of it stretched from where I picked it up. And this almost caused a gag reflex since it looked so disgusting. :joy: I honestly can’t remember anything like that ever happening.

Betty Who was incredible!! The festival was SO DISORGANISED though. It took like an hour to get into the park than then another 20 min to get our 21+ wrist band and then another 40 min to get our first drink.

If you’re going tomorrow, see if you can catch the Vixen. I hear she’s an amazing performer.
