What's New....?

Welcome back Quinn I guess.:+1:

Hope everyone had a good USA thanksgiving and ate lots of good food.

Hope you can have a good black friday season (month) and find great deals.
I sure know I did. Iā€™llā€¦ maybe embarassingly post a picture of a set of games I got once itā€™s all shipped.

In other news, chicken is sick today. Dry throat in the morning, thought it was a cold at first, went into work in the afternoon, then felt reeeally lightheaded and weak about an hour in.
Could not work like that, so I asked to go home.

Just had a nap. Feel a little better, still weird. Gonna drink some soup.

I got the 3D Printer. Itā€™sā€¦ Heavy! :expressionless: I had a (relatively cheap) folding table I was thinking of putting it on but I donā€™t knowā€¦ Iā€™m very likely going to have to use something more sturdy. Or find a sheet of plywood (cut to size) to put on top of the table. Iā€™m sure the legs could hold it up, itā€™s the (plastic) table itself I wouldnā€™t be too sure about. But for now, itā€™ll have to stay in the box it came in.

I know youā€™re shocked that my recommendation is a bar :joy:. This is the best bar in Japan though. Itā€™s unfinished. You can see the plywood on the walls. They have electricity but they only use it for the music (which is always fantastic). What little light there is comes from candles. Cash only and they let you smoke in there, but because the giant windows open itā€™s not smoke filled or gross. Itā€™s also not open till 8 or 9 pm and stays open till about 6 am.

Perfect, as a smoker Iā€™ve just saved this for my travel plans :joy:

Iā€™ll warn you itā€™s a drinkers bar. They have no taps. A few beers in the bottle. They can make a few basic cocktails but nothing too crazy. They have hard booze and they want to put it in a cup for you with ice slash they can add some soda in it too if you want :joy:.

Sounds like my kind of bar. Probably going to find a hotel near this place now!

Just donā€™t plan on going to do the orange gate temple walk the morning after. Youā€™ll want to be at that place super early so the path isnā€™t too crowded. You can do it at night but I think getting there at like 5 am is best and youā€™ll want to not still be drunk if youā€™re going all the way to the top.

Thankfully :crown: :dragon: :fire: made sure I was sober and not hungover for that bc it was a pretty spectacular thing to see and experience. We also have a couple photos on the gate path with no one else in them which is basically impossible after 8am.

Other recommendations include finding this place that has emojis as a logo and only emojis on their menu. We had a super expensive wagyu beef meal and another pricey fugu meal, but this relatively cheap :duck: :ramen: place was the best meal of the trip. Maybe of the year. She got :duck: :ramen:  and I got :cherries: :duck: :ramen: :yum: or something like that.

Itā€™s got seats for 10 customers maybe so they donā€™t do reservation. Expect to wait in line bc they are instagram famous, but itā€™s worth it. You also canā€™t order more so go for the larger size if youā€™re hungry.

The Osaka aquarium is great, and a Japanese baseball game is always fun.

For todays issues I have that some people might also have:

My pants ripped mid shift, I had to clock out and now Iā€™m trying to find pants that actually fit my size

Dude! sorry that happened to you but a minor aggravation one day makes for a funny story the next. Itā€™s wild I was just talking about my recent Japan trip bc that happened to me the night we had the wagyu meal. I sat down in the uber on top of the female end of the seatbelt. Immediately I knew it split my pants. We got out and thankfully it was high enough up that the back that my sport coat covered it. I just sorta walked super slowly into the restaurant bc they were black slacks and I was fairly certain my boxers were gray :grimacing: I sat against the wall and I believe no one noticed, but we did have to make a pit stop between dinner and the bar so I could change.

one of my favourite longtime youtubers NerdCubed is doing his annual Games of the Year awards.

Today, he shouted out Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth, that I know @Silvereyes has been interested in playing to get fully caught up by the time the Pirate Yakuza game releases .

But uhhh, apparently, I should warn you (or he should) that this game is monumentally big. Not only is it your typical Yakuza game with a massive story, massive intricate world, dozens of minigames, but thereā€™s also tons of fully-fledged side activities that I didnā€™t know about. Big time-sink activities such as:

  • An Animal Crossing Inspired game!
  • Pokemon-style Catching game!
  • Pokemon Snap-style game!
  • A Crazy Taxi delivery-style game!
  • A whole procedurally generated Dungeon crawler mode!

Likeā€¦ what??? That sounds like loads of content for people who;d enjoy it.
Gosh, I gotta get into Yakuza Zero sometimeā€¦

What a very subdued way to describe all of those activities.

Hey, Iā€™m just going off of what I know which is very little.

You should really play the game, it is so good.

You fight a Roomba (twice), a shark, a giant squid and Danny Trejo.

Wait, are you talking about Infinite Wealth?

Iā€™m a total noob to the series, I think Iā€™d wanna work my way up to that!

I only know of clips and strange moments of the series like this

Yes though I forgot to mention they fight construction equipment (for the third and fourth time) Actually I am an idiot it is actually the fourth and fifth time that happens in just two games.

Honestly you can start from Yakuza: Like A Dragon. The first six technically seven games are good but play different to 7 and 8 while also being seven games that are the same beat-em-up.

You might be a little lost in parts of 7 and 8 but you can always fill in gaps with a wiki if you have no clue what is going on or you can go play the previous games.

You canā€™t merely ā€œwork upā€ to a Yakuza game, I legit think (and in no way is it a bad thing) there is a huge disparity between the Pre and Post Zero crazy.

And the thing is Majima Everywhere (as you can see that is Majima and he is everywhere) still isnā€™t the craziest the series has to offer.

PSA

The word crayon is a one syllable word that rhymes with the word ran, and also rhymes with the name Dan. That is all.

Thatā€¦ is technically true, but only when pronounced in a particular way, usually in American English.
