A few weeks ago I vomited an enormous amount of blood and frankly it freaked the shit out of me, until I remembered I’d eaten watermelon a few hours earlier.
The day Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is at a discount, I’m 15 USD short.
Still, I’m debating if to get it eventually or just wait until the Volume 2 of the Master Collection releases with it and the other games.
Last night, after work and dinner, I went into the bathroom, and spontaneously decided to shave my head. I said I would go bald once I hit 30, and I just turned 31 last month. Just suddenly got the urge to do it, especially looking at how thin I was in the middle and how grey and dead my hair was at the temples. Went to the barber today to get them to clean it up. Now just need to stay on top of it. Also my scalp is pretty dry and red in a lot of places, got some cream from the pharmacy to help it, hoping it will clear in a few days.
bald gang rise up!
That’s great news! Happy for you.
Yesterday I was watching TV with my mom, changing channels to see if anything was good to watch and ended up on a channel that was showing a movie based on the Titanic. Not sure of the name of the movie, it wasn’t the 1997 one which my mom loves and watches it every time it’s on. It didn’t take long for my mom to say “I’m guessing this character is Rose.” to which I replied with “What do you mean, Rose?” and she was like “You know, Rose and Jack from the Titanic sinking and the Heart of the Ocean, the old lady watching the documentary…” and that’s when I realized that all these years she actually thought that Jack, Rose and the characters related to 'em from the James Cameron Titanic were actual people. I had to tell her that they were made up for that movie while everything else in the movie was 90-95% how things actually happened. It was pretty much like telling a young kid that Santa doesn’t exist . She looked really bummed about it.
Funny thing is that for the past few days I was actually in a Titanic mood, binging on documentaries and such, even rewatching the 1997 movie and planning to watch A Night to Remember so the timing for this was just too perfect
6 minutes and 21 seconds that prevented me from earning the Big Boss rank for the first Metal Gear Solid. PAIN
Still I’m happy I managed to beat it without rations and saving Meryl. And that 47 saves, perfect.
Unfortunately there was rain yesterday at Zurich as well, took an overnight bus friday night and a guided tour from 10 am to 4 pm but all on rain (thankfully had Umbrella).
However the Lindt Chocolate Factory tour was good (as it is under the roof). The interesting part was just while returning at 8 pm, the clouds were all gone.
I brought a Swiss knife and engraved a legend’s name from this showroom.
Got two gifts for my daughter -
Big Boss rank, No Rations and not using the special items for the OG Metal Gear Solid. This was a mix of fun and infuriating.
So like 2 months ago in the excitement for House of the Dragon Season 2, I read Fire and Blood. Then, that got me to actually bite the bullet and read the main A Song of Ice and Fire books. And today, I’ve finished A Dance with Dragons!
I’d highly recommend reading the books, they offer quite a lot more depth than the Game of Thrones show, which even at its most faithful still cut a lot of details out. It’s also a much better experience reading them for yourself than simply watching a video summary of things that happen on YouTube. Even incomplete, the excellent writing makes reading them worth it.
And now I can join in with the millions of other fans of the series who for the past 13 years have been waiting for The Winds of Winter to come out. It’ll be out any day now!
Fixed it for ya.
I just had a fun experience with two different animals. I took my dog (Bismarck) outside just now and as we got to the garage door a deer was standing next to our car. Bismarck started pulling on the leash trying to reach it (despite being miniature sized and only pulling in vain). The deer then got scared and ran away. Then as we walked to the side of the house a orange cat was just laying on the grass vibin. Bismarck hates cats and keeps growling and trying to reach the cat as well. Unlike the deer the cat showed zero interest in Bismarck and just kept laying on the ground watching us as we passed.
Was the cat wise? Or was this just typical orange cat behavior with zero survival instincts? We may never know.
Today I begin a new job at a kids’ summer camp as an art specialist. It’s exciting and scary. In preparation, I’ve had to wrangle 40+ DIY arts and crafts to do for this summer, compile a schedule for said crafts, and make a document with instructions and supplies to send to the bosses. I’m quite nervous now since I’ve never taught kids before and there’s not really any templates to follow. It’s a lot of winging it with no script. It also doesn’t help that I’m the most boring person in real life who looks like the face all the time. Gonna have to work on that… And this morning as I prep the first craft, I’ve had to take breaks to breathe because I’m going lightheaded and my stomach is doing flips. Oof.
Anyway, this week’s theme is “rubber ducky week” which is oddly relevant to this forum, so that should be fun to maybe sneak in a harmless reference or two lol. Might share some of the art later.
Edit: Went well. Can’t share pics but the kids listened to instructions and enjoyed crafting their non explosive rubber duckies today
If you don´t get two more pooches and name them Roon and Moltke, I will be seriously disappointed…
How exciting. Try and have fun! I’m sure so long as you are then the kids will too.
Congratulations! Most things seem a little bit scary when you do something for the first time. As time passes you’ll probably grow more comfortable with your new job.
This is also me. Eventually I just learned to put on fake smiles when talking or interacting with coworkers or customers. You just sorta learn to force it over time.
Aw that’s super sweet! (Meaning cool!)
Great of you to find a creative arts job that’s in a field you so passionately love. I hope you enjoy it this summer, and I hope the pay is decent!
Artists sharing art and art skills! Woo!
–Hey can you uhh… send me one of them rubber ducky templates?
Thanks! It was a lot yesterday, but fun in its own way. Still sorting out the pay because apparently I’m listed as a camp counselor and not a specialist. I have to speak to someone about that, but it would pay well as soon as that’s sorted.
That sounds more empowering when you put it like that! Enter a World of Imagination
Haha it’s just free-handed ducks cut out of cardboard. But you’d be amazed at what you can do with it.
