What's New....?

That is one thing that is annoying about Discord, it’s really hard to join a community. There’s always too many people to even be noticed for longer than a couple moments

I like watching shark stuff, and this video of an attack on a kayaker just showed up in my youtube feed. The kayaker was completely unharmed but it ravages his boat, it’s pretty scary. Here’s his description of the event via the Shark Research Committee site.

“I had paddled from the Breakwater ramp to Shell Street in Pacific Grove and was on my way back. I was hit off the end of San Carlos Beach about 100 yards or so off the Monterey Bay Inn - probably over Metridium. Suddenly, I heard a loud bang as my kayak and I flew into the air. I landed outside my boat, look back to my horror saw a large great white shark no more than three feet away had my kayak in its mouth. I could clearly see its 2-inch teeth and its black eye that looked lifeless. I scrambled away from my boat as fast as I could and started kicking towards shore. After five minutes I pulled out my Nautilus Lifeline and called in a mayday to the coast guard. They were having trouble hearing me. I spotted a sail boat and started frantically waving to them with my right arm as I operated the radio with my left hand. While this was going on, the shark was using my boat as a chew toy. I saw it spin with the boat at least three times. It started pushing the boat towards me and then left the boat and headed for me. Suddenly it dove. I put my face in the water to see if it was under me, but I couldn’t see anything. I looked up and saw the sail boat approaching me. After some very quick explanations I said that I needed to get into the small boat. There was no ladder or transom. I had been in the water for about twenty minutes. I was wearing a 3-mil, but had forgotten my booties and my feet were numb and I was running on nothing but adrenaline. I could not get up into the boat or stand up on their motor. I asked them to call 911 and ask for coast guard assistance. The coast guard showed up 5 minutes later and pulled me into their boat. All my gear was floating and was recovered. They took me back to the Breakwater. According to witnesses the shark was as big as my boat, which is 14 feet in length. Bite marks show that it had the whole girth of the boat in its mouth. My boat is covered with bite marks from end to end with multiple punctures. People told me that they could see the shark slapping the surface of the water with its fins as it mauled my boat.”

That’s why I usually join smaller community discords. It seems more organized and less chaotic which my simple brain likes. I feel like I can actually get to know people in smaller servers instead of seeing hundreds of people I know nothing about.

I miss the days where 47s feminine hands constituted debates here.

Did a job interview a couple weeks ago, finally got told I didn’t get it. Back into the grind of job hunting. Wondering if it might be a good idea to see if I can get a Christmas temp job while still working the main job just to get a bit of extra income in, I did that last year but by the end of it I was exhausted and miserable. Interestingly, Labour has come out and said that if they are elected, they will scrap zero hour contracts, which is what I am on. Would be good I think, would essentially mean that the company would have to give us fixed hours and proper break times, rather than the convenience of being kept late when it’s busy, being sent home early when it is quiet.

On the bright side, as I talked about earlier, Persona 3 Reload’s collector’s edition finally came up for pre-order in the UK, so was able to get that ordered. Quite happy, now just have to wait over 4 months for the game itself. Ah well. I want to start getting more merch of a few franchises I love, and this collector’s edition has a nice status of Aigis. Not really a figurines kindof guy, especially anime ones that I find very hit or miss. But the one in the box looks cool and has a nice pose. Want some more stuff to show off, want to get a few more Amiibo as well, I find they’re quite nice looking and affordable. (Well, the ones still in print are at least.)

Yesterday I unpacked everything from my bags, now my room looks liveable.

All it’s missing is my PC, I’ll settle for a laptop in the future after I buy something that I really need atm

Today me and a colleague went to the rathaus (local town hall) with our boss to have our paperwork made, good thing that me, my boss and the lady at the office knew English, things went smoothly

Wait, you unpacked your stuff? Mate they keep kidnapping victims in more furnished rooms.

Everything I brought is in there. I’ll find something in this old house to add in the corner besides the wardrobe to fill the empty space :stuck_out_tongue:

That air freshener(?) on the top almost looks like the Hitman fleur-de-lis.

Well I suppose it makes everything easier to clean.

Occasionally I feel a strong appeal to be in such a realm at night, running endlessly whilst a smooth background track is playing.

Late-night wishing…

Signed an NDA today. I’m about 3/4 of the way through the hiring process and it’s only for a seasonal position, but it’s exciting to possibly have a cool art job

Oh gosh, what a day… ugh, what a day…
I’m alone in the house this week since the parents are taking a nice vacation in London England.

Work is stressful as always, those high school lunch-rushes are no joke.

I also had a very rare early-morning long shift today. Usually my shifts are a consistent 4.75 - 6hrs long, and the longer ones start later, going into the afternoon.
Today tho, my shift was 7.5 hours long, from 7am to 2:30pm.

That’s a lot of stress in one day.

And it didn’t end when I left the building.
My dog Ponyo, whom I fed and let out to do her business at 6am since I was gonna be gone a while, didn’t do too well while I was gone. Had some sort of stomach bug or irritation, since when I came back, I had to clean up a few bunches of… ‘stuff’… :grimacing: :mask:
I’m not mad at her, I understand she didn’t mean it and was essentially trapped indoors for so long. (She doesn’t even seem guilty about it which is fine, she’s not the smartest ) The meal in the early morn’ probably didn’t help…
Still very happy to see me again when I walked through the door

Vacuumed and cleaned all the main floor today though. Silver lining being I was going to do that tomorrow on my day off, and clean my room today, but I can swap those.
Totslly ruined the chill/chores post-work schedule I made myself last night.

Ponyo is doing better, it seems. She seems fine when I took her on a walk.
Still, I feel bad I wasn’t there for her and stuck at work. She’s usually never alone in the house for so long that early in the morning though.

All in all, I salvaged it. Cleaned the first floor, everything’s okay enough now.
Having dinner. Ponyo is too. :+1:

I’m a little bored. I wold like to something new in my life, in my work. I’m tired to always the same things. For example, in my work as a journalist, I’m tired to write always and always about what happens in my city. I would to talk about something new. I wolud to do something new. Recently I helped another journalist to do a podcast about a terrorist attack in Rome 50 years ago. I would like to do a podcast, or a videodocumentary. I asked her to give me some advices and so I’m waiting for her. I also want to write a book (or more than one) and I’ve been studying and trying to do it since the last 11 years. Now it’s time to complete it.
And sometime I have the desire to do a videogame. But this would be, maybe, something impossible to do, too difficult

Why don’t you write a story for a Videogame?

Oh, that’s disheartening. I was rooting for you on it.

I am sorry to hear that, I know that this is so frustrating :slightly_frowning_face:

Because I’m a journalist. I’m not used to write fictional stories. I never did it and I don’t have so much imagination. The book I want to write is about history of local politics in Italian cities in the last century. Nothing interesting for a game.
However, sometimes I think about some ideas for a videogame. I watched a lot of Italian action movies of 70s. It was a kind of movies born in a particular decade. In the streets there was a lot of violence, because of fascist and communist terrorism, stronger crime groups, mafia families that begin the drug business. Sometimes I think that it could perfect for a videogame. But I wouldn’t know how to do
