What happened to Travis' left hand?

In the very first mission, Prologue A Personal Contract, when we see Travis in the helicopter talking to 47, we see his left hand near the side of his head and is fully intact and a human hand. Later in the game (not sure exactly when) but it’s on the boat in the Gulf of Mexico and Jade is with him, you see him smoking and the cigarette is in left hand and it is a prosthetic hand.
So i am asking the obvious question, what happened to his hand?

47 was meant to shoot it in the first mission, and this was shown in Travis’s trailer. But as Absolution’s story is such a mess, this was deleted in the final game without explanation.

Perhaps we could consider it a lifelike silicone or rubber “glove” that goes over the, eh, robotic looking parts.

Maybe ICA punished him for losing 47 under his watch, after having Diana go rogue, also on his watch.

Thank you, never knew this detail, and that prosthetic hand does look creepy though…

You have missed this then. Quite interesting including the other similar videos.
Absolution was meant to be great but… :man_shrugging: They changed so much the story and puzzled it back making at the end something that doesn’t make sense.

Mandela Effect or whatever you call it.
I thought it was the right hand.

I always loved that trailer. It sorta presents Travis as a more competent and serious character and they give him an interesting military backstory. While in the game proper he comes across as completely reckless and he acts dumb through the entire story, and he gets clowned on all the time lol. So you wouldn’t know he was an army professional at all.

Then again in said trailer they DO mention his dishonorable discharge and how he failed his psych monitoring. So the seeds of his unstability were still there. Just wish they had wrote that part of his character better that’s all.

I never noticed his hand was normal until you pointed it out, but yeah as someone mentioned Travis was suppose to confront 47 which results in him getting his hand shot and need it to be cut off and replaced with a bionic arm

I always just assumed that, in the final product, Travis was wounded while serving in the military or something, and that any scenes with his hand being normal are just him using a more normal-looking prosthetic that he only uses while in the field, so to speak.
