Hey everyone,
I am stepping in as Global Community and Social Media Manager for ioi,
I will try to be the new bridge between the players and ioi.
I have some really big shoes to fill so bare with me while I get onboarded and try to catch up.
Here is a short introduction of me:
Work-related:
In my two-decade journey through the gaming industry, I’ve had many roles—from the face-to-face of retail to the thrill of esports and the creativity of marketing, dealing with both indie gems and high-profile AAA titles alike. I have had the privilege of being involved in and collaborating with incredibly talented and diverse teams. Some cherry-picking of the fun experiences during my career that have made me exceptionally proud:
- I started and led the MFFs (Malmö Fotbollförening) esports team to victory during the maiden season of eAllsvenskan.
- During the Bloodhunt release, the company faced an unexpected yet negative twist. I orchestrated a backup plan that raised $146,000 for Save the Children and catapulted the game to a top-three position on Twitch during the event.
- Designing and creating the Bloodhunt booth at Twitchcon Amsterdam which caught the eye of and got praised by both competitors and Twitch staff.
- Hosting a party at Twitchcon Paris, which became the talk of the town of conversations among content creators and being mentioned in their end-of-the-year recaps.
Personal:
Outside work, I love streaming on Twitch as a partner for fun. I play all kinds of games except sports and cars. Fun fact: I ranked 8th in Tekken Dark Resurrection and top 16 in Tekken 6 in Sweden.
I’ve also been on stage playing Magic the Gathering against Hall of Famer Shuhei Nakamura in front of a massive online audience of 25,000+ viewers.
I am a huge anime fan. I miss Jujutsu Kaisen and can’t wait until the new season starts.
I’m into music, movies, and TV series when I’m not gaming. Oh, and I’m a cat person.
I have tattoos from 3 different games, if you can guess right on 2 of the games, lunch is on me!
I have a Ragdoll who hates me with the fury of a thousand suns because I travel a lot instead of serving him food.
I look forward to continue the work Travis and Clemens has done.
Best of regards
Samir
