In a just world, Kane & Lynch Games would play like TLOU2.
Did you smoke your own product again, Walt?
Nope, just the usual thorough, flawless scientific observation.
In a just world, Kane & Lynch games would be as highly regarded as TLOU2 and get a sequel!
Are you implying that Hitman 2, not the pretender. The real Hitman 2 Silent Assassin isnāt good?
Itās very good, but not as phenomonal as C47
Thatās correct. Itās even moreso!
That isnāt what the quote implies. You are breaking my heart, youāre going down a path I canāt follow.
H2SA has the Japan levels. Letās not forget the Japan levelsā¦ neverā¦
It has multiple, the first and last level in Japan are phenomenal.
The second one can go to hell.
I look forward to completing your training, soon you will call me Masterā¦ And Codename 47 a masterpiece!
Kept us waiting, huh? Hopefully it was worth it.
I donĀ“t think IĀ“ll be able to play this without a beer or two (or three) by my side
Gotta say the XGS trailer and the gameplay showcase during Ubisoft Forward alleviated my scepticism from the announcement trailer a bit. ItĀ“s certainly a good-looking game, and gameplay looks really good, especially the stealth stuff but also the melee seems to be pretty good/improved (couldnĀ“t help but feel theyĀ“ve implemented Souls-like elements into the combat?). Though whether it will actually feel and play really good remains to be seen.
I was also very pleased to see that there will be options to choose which character you want to play the mission with, so hopefully thatĀ“s a prominent feature and not just limited to a handful of story missions. Would like to know a bit about the story, but I guess that will have to wait until release. Though I wonĀ“t be playing the game upon release it seems
One thing IĀ“m really hoping for though is a (good) Japanese dub option.
PD is one of those series IĀ“ve never had the chance to play but wanted to. Got excited when they announced the reboot, then concerned when there havenĀ“t been any updates and rumours about development issues / cancellation surfaced earlier this year. Really happy to see that that isnĀ“t the case. From the trailer it seems like a blend of Deus Ex, Dishonored, and MirrorĀ“s Edge-style parkour, very much on the immersive sim side. Definitely looking forward to this one.
Having caught up on all the showcases from the past days, Microsoft/Xbox definitely put everyone else to shame. They had the most interesting stuff and actually focused on trailers with minimum speeches in between. Perfect Dark definitely got me the most excited, but other highlights for me included:
-
Avowed - Now, I absolutely love Obsidian, but the standard medieval fantasy RPG stuff rarely ever gets me excited, plus the game didnĀ“t really seem all that visually appealing in the previous trailer. Somehow this new one has made it much more appealing (both visually and gameplay-wise) and I suddenly really want to play it.
-
MGS Delta - Expected that during State of Play, so surprised to see it here. The game looks really nice so far from what was shown, but I hope to see some more gameplay soon. A little sad that theyĀ“re not using the Fox engine for this game. It deserved more. Also I wish theyĀ“d rework the faces a bitā¦ (Snake looks ok, but The Bossā¦)
- MFS 2024 - HavenĀ“t played a MFS since the 90s, not sure if IĀ“ll ever even have the time (and NASA supercomputer) to play this one, but fucking hell does this game look beautiful. Could feel my jaw dropping.
-
Fable - Never played a Fable game and as mentioned above, fantasy stuff is mostly out of my sphere of interest. And yet, the trailer got me intrigued and interested. Two games in one showcase? Now thatĀ“s sorceryā¦
-
Atomfall - A Stalker-like(ish) shooter set in Cold War-era Britain? DidnĀ“t even know I needed that. Yes please.
Honorable mentions to the new Doom (I havenĀ“t even played 2016 and Eternal yet and IĀ“m more of a Wolfenstein person myself, but it looks good) and BO6 (trailer was ok, seems to be your standard CoD, but the Gulf War is a cool and untapped setting and it turns out that Raven Software are the ones doing the campaign again, so IĀ“m rooting for them - BOCW was really good so IĀ“m glad they got entrusted with this one too).
Turning to Ubisoft Forward, I am cautiously curious about Outlaws. I have zero interest in Star Wars and the game could very well turn out to be the boiler-plate Ubisoft open world at its worst, but at the very least, the stuff that was shown in the showcase felt very atmospheric, and that goes a long way for me.
I have the very same. Immensely dislike the feudal medieval fantasy.
Pillars of Eternity/Awoved is a bit palatable though.
The world building is closer to the renaissance than anything:
- Pillars of Eternity 1 had powerful families in city states.
- Pillars 2 was full on age of exploration/colonialism/East India Company/age of piracy.
So, even if Iām not hyped, and not going to mark the release date on a calendar. Iām still curious about it.
Also MGS Delta seems cool.
I appreciate how they kept the old level design. I much prefer the puzzle, we prototyped them with legos, design to the organic-systemic approach they took in mgs v.
Maybe if I come across it on sale one day.
