Things About Hitman You Just Found Out

What!? Never seen this! But then again I’ve never explored the Safehouse and its surroundings so far. Just been in the basement to prepare for missions and starting every mission there. Only been outside whenever they put me there at the beginning or if I need a new syringe. Will explore all of the Safehouse when I finish all the challenges…

The MoC aka the ‘Master of Ceremonies’ is actually slang for Penis and was used in the 1890s.

Poor fella got called a dick without knowing it

When you hook an NPC with gun lure trick and change disguise but then change it back to what were you wearing while hooking, the NPC will continue to follow you to the Moon

In Dartmoor, when walking on the staircase to top floor, there’s a ledge that can be climbed. Using it it’s possible to sneak past the guard who stands at the top of the stairs.
This makes the staircase usable for SASO runs with 0 distractions/KOs needed.

Another Dartmoor find of today is related to the Collector ET and how blowing up his car will make him panic and start running away on foot. I haven’t yet tried to see if he can get far enough to fail the mission.

Excuse me if this question is stupid but what is hooking?

An (non guard) NPC will spot a weapon on the ground, they will stop momentarily… Then proceed to the nearest guard to tell them about it… BUT, you can (as he put it) “hook” them to go to you if you pick it up at the right moment… And not just go to you… they will follow you until they catch up to you all to tell you to “put that thing away”.

So with them going to you… Or rather the disguise you were wearing (let’s say a server) when they started to chase you (if you happen to get WAY AHEAD of them)… You can switch to another disguise (let’s say a guard) and the NPC will still go to that disguise (the server). This has the potential to isolate an NPC for remote kills like explosions or sniper kills.

But it’s still possible to switch back to that same disguise (a server) , and they will continue to follow you without it breaking (because they were still headed towards the server disguise). The only thing that will “break” the chase or hook is if they witness something that would panic them.

In simple words it’s forcing an NPC to follow you everywhere when he sees a lying weapon and you picking it up at the right moment. You can suggest more suitable word to describe this action
@Tetrafish_21 gave an excellent description, thank you.
I will just attach my showcase video of the trick

On Mendoza, the winery tour can be initiated (with 47 as the Chief Winemaker) despite the wine tanks being sabotaged. Nobody on the tour comments on it, and going up to the top of the tanks themselves reveals that seemingly no wine has actually spilled out of it (or at least the one the mission story indicator suggests you visit).

Just realized that the following 3 Elusive Targets are individually the first ET in Season 3, Season 1, and Season 2.

I select syndicates with Colorado so seldomly that it took me 50+ campaigns to find out that safes can spawn in the tornado shelter (which required the face scan as usual).

The Examine prompts on the walls were greyed out btw.

Megaduck looks better in the daylight.

She’ll even stay there during the brief exit cutscene.

Not sure if this is ever mentioned before, but it looks like the Codename 47 Suit from HITMAN 3 is based on an earlier version of Codename 47.

I didn’t really just discover something new about the game, per se, but I just replaced my computer (Core i5 with 40GB of RAM and a GTX 1660 Super video card) with a new one running a Core i7, 32 GB of RAM and an RTX 4060 TI. I can now manage ray tracing and DLSS and this game is really good looking at max settings! The light rays coming down in the New York bank, the reflections off the water in Haven, and the overall feel of the game are much improved!

Not so much something I just found out, but something I just realized, or considered in a different light.

In the Absolution mission King of Chinatown, 47’s intel summary on Birdie takes special care to mention that Birdie’s services won’t come cheap, that the man is a merchant, he operates on quid pro quo, and that everything has a price for him.

Setting the second half of WoA aside, where he’s operating on principle more than anything, does anyone else find that mildly and amusingly hypocritical of 47 to think about another person, considering his profession as a paid killer who doesn’t take action on a request for his services until a fee has at least been negotiated if not paid outright, and who once wouldn’t even help his own handler escape with her life without demanding payment? I mean, he’s not necessarily judging Birdie for it, but I find it interesting that it’s something 47 has to dwell on, even if it’s just for the sake of the player, considering his own requirements.

Typically “Quid Pro Quo” has been used to highlight characters who have lesser moral character (or are very poor Birdie is both), Biridie is duplicitous and opportunistic character and his working on self-motivated exchange is one of the ways IO communicates his low moral character. Working that way means Birdie never has to give anything upfront, it means he can decide to welch even after the bargaining service has been done and it allows him to control other people which is something he seems to actually enjoy on some level. Of course it also means he never has to use actual legal tender as well.

It intentionally contrasts with 47 as payment legitimises the work 47 does, establishes an actual level of trust and duty with a client and highlights it is an example of trust people have in his ability even if it is illegal, 47 takes great pride in his work and payment is simply proof of the few skills he thinks he has. Plus he is basically a contracted employee, it just so happens he works at a highly illegal and very shady enterprise. He has the right to ask for a fair pay for services soon to be rendered just as much as the employer and the client have the right to both fix a base price for his services and the right to negotiate said price.

Thanks for the info on the poll, I think if any hitman fan comes to know about this poll, he/she will vote to 47 anyway.
