It’s possible to smother Silvio Suit Only, by KOing Lafeyette with a Tranq / throwable object or by using emetic tools, it’s a little buggy though because it was probably not intended, but still kinda cool to do.
My cast has been removed this week , so I could play Hitman game. I did some tests on Hitman Blood Money:
Mission: Till Death Do Us Part
- It is impossible to ring the bell by shooting on it.
- The redneck by the bell is very nervous. The first time 47 rings the bell, the guard yells at 47, asking him to leave. The second time 47 rings the bell, he scolds 47. The third time, he directly shoots at 47.
- The priest outfit is very powerful as it allows 47 to even enter the Papy’s room. Papy doesn’t take care of 47’s presence when he wears priest outfit. It’s a way to kill Papy silently.
Mission: House of Cards
Did some tests about the secret meeting
- Schmutz goes two times in his room before meeting the Sheikh.
- If the DNA briefcase is taken out from Schmutz’s room, Schmutz enters a panic state, staying still in his room, looking around him.
- If 47 leaves the briefcase in front of the open door, Schmutz runs to it and puts the briefcase back in his room.
- If Schmutz sees 47 with the DNA briefcase, he directly shoots at 47.
- The other briefcases present in the hotel can’t be taken. 47 can conceal a bomb in them, but he can’t grab them.
- If the diamond briefcase is stolen, the carrier is driving mad and is running inside the scientist’s room, seeking for the briefcase. It is a softlock situation, as the meeting (between Sheikh and Schmutz/47) can’t advance.
- If the scientist’s bodyguard is killed or neutralized, the meeting is “blocked”, as he is the carrier of the briefcase. The meeting happens but in a softlock state (like the previous situation).
- During the meeting with the Sheikh, 47 can’t leave the meeting (w/ or w/o the diamond briefcase). If 47 leaves, the bodyguards directly shoot at 47.
- However, 47 can leave the meeting w/o trouble with the diamond briefcase, either if the Sheikh is dead or when he’s away answering the phone call. And obviously, when the Sheikh goes back from the phone call and everything is good.
- During the phone call, it’s possible to kill the Sheikh alone. When he is going to the balcony, 47 can distract the guard with a coin. He can then enters the stairs w/o being seen and he’s alone with the Sheikh.
- Once the meeting is completed and over (between Sheikh and Schmutz/47), it’s impossible to redial the Sheikh.
- Once the meeting is completed and over (between Sheikh and 47), 47 can’t go back to the VIP lounge. The two guards at the entry don’t allow 47 to pass.
- The Sheikh’s bodyguard outfit is almost useless on this mission. Surprisingly, this outfit doesn’t allow 47 to enter the VIP lounge section. The two bodyguards refuse the entry.
On Sgail, there’s a box at roughly this location that can be vaulted over, in order to reach the exit without risking a camera or custodian witnesses if 47’s disguise doesn’t give him access to the room.
The earpieces that ICA agents drop in Berlin attract NPCs’ attention as if they are coins.
There is little use to this, as you cannot place or drop earpieces yourself, but still interesting.
Here’s an oddly fitting interaction with Montgomery. “Damn!” - as if he realises an unattended earpiece means that one of his agents is taken out by 47. “Excellent, good job” - with grim irony he congratulates 47
I only just learned that in New York, in the deposit box areas even though visually the bars have gaps on them that you can see through, the NPC viewcones treat them as though they are solid walls and can’t see beyond them provided the door is closed.
Don’t know why I never thought to test this out until now or how I missed the obvious hint either since one of them literally has a body bin in it…
If you switch off this fuse box (and even after turning it back on) the camera above the door stops working:
Iirc same deal with the camera and the fuse box in the clothing storage area in New York
While trying to do a (relative) speedrun of Paris, I started as a Tech Crew member.
Old way of taking out camera: go back and left and shoot the camera through/between the boxes.
New way of taking out camera: go towards camera, but go to the left by the wall and behind box and shoot from there.
New way of taking out camera + detonating the fireworks: The guard will see you even though he has his back turned to you. You can see the yellow sus meter grow, but you go into combat once you fire the gun.
This almost seems like a bug.
Edit:
It’s not a bug. It’s the camera seeing me holding the gun.
Anyway. ^That’s what I “found out”.
About the run… This is pointless, I’m sure. But I immediately go for and detonate the fireworks.
Shoot the camera from the right side with shoulder swap (and out of the view of the guard this time)
Run over to Viktor, lethal poison poke.
Climb up to Dalia, 2nd lethal poison poke, then to helicopter.
But I imagine a faster route would be to “get to da choppa” and shoot her from there through the balcony railings(?). Unless the angle is bad.
There is a key to ice cream shop in Icon, right next to entrance to lawyer’s office.
(I actually knew this for a while but just remembered it when replaying Badboy)
In Berlin, this bartender smoking behind the juice bar has bright blue hair. Only clocked it once I saw him in the bin so it’s a slightly odd screenshot
There’s light guitar music that plays in the gelato shop in Sapienza. Never heard it before in normal gameplay, only in Freelancer yesterday. I suppose it’s always played there… maybe the main mission music had always overpowered it prior, so I never noticed it
Update on at least Mumbai: The fuse box doesn’t work anymore. At least it didn’t for me in alerted Freelancer. Too bad.
They mentioned that in the patch notes
Oh, haven’t seen them. Ok. It’s a shame.
Just found out (after a few weeks of work) that you can’t buy the following items in Freelancer:
ICA Outstanding Service Coin (of course)
Assassin’s HWK21 Covert (kind of understandable)
Bartoli 75R (really strange, although you’ll get this gun in every map for free)
If anyone is interested, here’s the complete list of every Freelancer-Weapon and -tool and the price:
Map: Ambrose Island
Mission: Shadow in the Water
There is an oil canister in the workshop. It works like in Freelancer. Didn’t know this exlusive-freelancer item was present in the regular map.
Contract: The Blocksmith
Carlton Smith is a special NPC as he literally dies when 47 throws the oil canister at his head. Normally a NPC is knocked out in such conditions.
He dies from pretty much anything, including Kalmer darts, banana peels or an apple in the face because he only has like 1 HP. IIRC the other NPC with him in the jail behaves the same.
The prisoner in Marrakesh is another one of those NPCs standing on death’s door, but his behavior is way weirder: he only dies when someone finds his body. Like, sicken the guard in the room, shoot the prisoner with the Kalmer, he’ll be KO’d like anyone else but he will instantly die when the guard comes back in the room :x
Could it be that the prisoner is considered out of bounds/unreachable by the other NPCs? That could explain why he dies when someone finds his unconscious body. It also happens on that one rooftop in Marrakesh if you push an NPC over the low wall, and if I’m not mistaken one of the skylights in Berlin.
OOB death is not immediate, it takes a few seconds. The Marrakesh prisoner dies instantly when found.
