I think I originally linked to that, plus a comment detailing how it worked.
I think the person said it was near-impossible to kill one, let alone both targets without moving away from the observation area (since Diana would walk away), but whoa, there actually is some very very convoluted and weirs way to do it! And they left the secret dialogue for killing both in too!
I really wonder if there were originally plans to have a meeting with Diana after killing the targets in the normal way, but most of it got scrapped except for that (since it’s just so unlikely to get). I don’t know if this is the intended way to get that dialogue, since it seems like way, way, more of a hassle than it’s worth.
I’m sure I knew this way back when, but replaying a bit of H2SA I re-learned that having the fibre wire in your hand is the same as having a pistol in your hand. The guards will lite you up.
H2SA was hard, but I wish the new games were a bit more like it. The no running thing is so good! You want run so bad bc you’re tired of waiting on 47 to walk but as soon as you think you’re out of sight you run into a guard who just immediately mag dumps his AK into your chest.
The bigger the map, the more critical it seems that a running mechanic is. In everyday life if I see someone running down the street that doesn’t seem like they should be (I.e., not in jogging gear), it draws attention for sure. I see no reason why this shouldn’t be the case in a game like Hitman. Running can be appropriate but there are times when it shouldn’t be.
Anyone running in a suit and tie is suspicious, automatically.
The suspicion meter in H2SA had a linger effect too. If a guard saw you running and then lost sight of you the meter would sit at 10% ish suspicious for a while and if he saw you again not running that would be ok, but if he saw you running again or you got too close and stayed there he would realise you’re up to no good.
This sort of suspicion meter would be ideal if it could be implemented in a consistent way. I imagine the problem you run into with the more complex NPCs of the new trilogy is that this becomes very tricky to implement in a way which feels fair and transparent to the player. Better for fun/unrestrictive gameplay, at the expense of the tense, claustrophobic atmosphere we saw in H2SA.
On balance, I think the new system is good. Particularly for appealing to a broader audience. We want more Hitman games, so it’s obviously great to see the success of H3 (and by extension the WoA trilogy). I’m guessing it would be a harder sell if HITMAN had opted for a less forgiving suspicion meter.
I do, however, like the idea of a Master difficulty having some of these features implemented into the suspicion meter. That’s something which does feel somewhat lacking in H3. Keep Professional as the consistent mode which is best suited to speedrunning, put extra complications in Master.
Same way professional mode handles suspicion when carrying an item you shouldn’t. It makes no sense to me how you’re able to carry the silverballer out in the open in any guard disguise.
That said, I miss how melee items get bloody and suspicious when you bludgeon someone with it like in blood money. You can massacre the whole village of Sapienza with a knife and still carry it around Marcello’s kitchen like nothing happened.
Hitman 3 omitting the Master Difficulty Challenges from H2 could allow for a clean overhaul to Master features with a implementation of New Master Difficulty Challenges (after a potential leaderboard whipe).
The H3 maps would benefit from actual guard/camera changes. Not to mention whatever new AI behaviors.
So, I just watched Analysing Every Mission from Hitman 3 - YouTube and when talking about Dartmoor, they mention Alexa staging her death. It’s not quite something secret someone found out, but, I just remembered; Wait a minute, didn’t all three members of providence stage their deaths in Hitman 2? Wasn’t all Haven the idea behind that? Or does the funeral in Dartmoor actually represent the staged death Haven did for them? Did I just discover a plot hole or am I just forgettive?
all 3 members of providence staged their deaths when they were found out at the end of sgail, thats why the 3 providence partners were laying low at the burj al ghazali. when alexa found out that the constant was stealing assets from providence she returned to her ancestral home to contain the damage. at her home a fake funeral was also being held because she faked her death.
