A definite improvement, nice work
Thereā€™s something about the eyes thatā€™s deeply unsettling to me in H3. Uncanny valley, almost. In H2 his eyes had more life in them. idk if that makes sense but thatā€™s my main issue with his H3 model. You handled it well though.

You have no idea how right you are. Even if we leave the model from H3 unchanged, but take the eyes and his gaze from H2, we will already get a nice improvement. Here:

I dunno. Itā€™s just likeā€¦ he turned into a puppy from a seasoned wolf. He really become lifeless, no matter how ambiguous it sounds.

Yes, lifeless is the right word. With his Hitman 2 model he looked more like the character he is- you can see the years of pain in his face. That is totally lost in the Hitman 3 model.

And I think the H2 model looks more ā€œrealisticā€ than the H3 model.

I think it just makes sense to ā€œreduceā€ his quality since he is barely visible in H3, we only see him close enough during DubaĆÆ, but I understand yā€™all are sad he looks different

Hmm. Devā€™s have a tendency to slightly change characters (hello, 47) from game to game. We can see him close enough in ā€˜ā€˜reflectionsā€™ā€™ (Romania) and not only during cutscenes. Iā€™m still inclined to think that IO tried to make Grey look like ā€˜ā€˜newā€™ā€™ 47 (theyā€™re brothers, after all). But the problem is that THIS appearance doesnā€™t fit him

Maybe IO cut corners to reduce the gameā€™s file size as much as they could and since Grey model was used only for low quality videos, it was an easy picking.
Itā€™s not like he was important or anything :upside_down_face:

I wish we had seen him in this as well:

Yes, that coat looks very cool!

Seeing that concept he looks more elegant there IMO and not that contrite (I hope thatā€™s the right word )

@Mini I remembered your note on Tumblr about his eyes and I thought it would be better to sort out this moment here. In short, he has amblyopia in his left eye. A ā€œlazy eyeā€. This is not confirmed information, I only appeal with the facts that I have. You can catch a glimpse of this in the ā€œOld friendsā€ cinematic:

His pre-render model also has this detail (however, it looks unconvincing here).

Before I started taking screenshots of him myself, I thought it was a bullshit. However, shots from the front angle say the opposite.

In most cases it is not so noticeable, since he still looks around. But from some anglesā€¦ yeah.

I donā€™t presume to say that it was conceived, Iā€™m not a developer after all (I probably need to look better at his face in H3). But if Grey really has amblyopia, and it is not fault of 3d-artists and animators, this is doubly cool. One more detail to the fact that he is not as perfect as 47

Wow, thank you!

Well, when he had this in Hitman 1 Iā€™m sure it was planned, when they let it stay in Hitman 2. I must watch the cutscenes from Hitman 3 again to see if he has the lazy eye there, too.

If yes, itā€™s a pity they never got deeper into his health issues (the elbow, the eyeā€¦)

I will not speak for the cutscenes, but I took pictures from all possible angles in ā€œReflectionsā€. It looks like his eyes are okay now.

Unfortunately, this is the only location where I have access to his model, and the lighting there is disgusting (there is simply NO lighting there). Therefore, I slightly tweaked the brightness in the photo editor. My only hope now is that someday someone will make a mod with a model swap. I donā€™t have as much time now as I had two years ago, so I canā€™t afford to mod the game myself. Iā€™ll just go crazy, because I can take one screenshot for three hours. And if before that I have to spend the same amount of time to replace the modelā€¦ :joy:

Shame they donā€™t have more characters with more unique features. The gun shop owner with lung cancer that uses a device to speak, Travis with the prosthetic hand and Grey with a lazy eye :grinning:

Is that a screenshot from him in that coffin?

Maybe you can ask @Luiluix I think he has a mod from the Hitman 3 model if Iā€™m right? Sorry if I got that wrong, I really have no clue on mods haha

Parvati has the prosthetic hand, the new ET is missing fingers. I think IO does a good job in general of making targets look and feel unique (at least visually :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:)

Donā€™t forget the extremely menacing Lhom Kwai from the Hantu Port sniper mission

Holy moly.

But hey those details about Grey are cool, doubly so if it was intentional.

We also had quite a few targets with eye patches. Probably because itā€™s easier to put an eye patch onto an NPC than creating a limb prosthetic.

But speaking of limb prosthetics, there was also that one scientist in Absolution who had a metal leg. And Letā€™s not forget Cayne, the wheelchair bound villain of Blood Money.

Robert Knox with his scarred face and Maya Parvatti with her prosthetic arm also come to mind.

Alma Reynard with her smoking hot voice, perfect facial features and divine legs, comes to mind as well. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Wait, what were we talking about?

Lucas Grey also has a smoking hot voice, truth be told. I could listen to that man calmly threatening me to death and still enjoy it somehow.

Okay guys, hear me out. Lucas Grey is alive and he became a teacher! Meet Mr. Grey!

He is kind but also severely.
