oh thank fuck, finally
I didn’t know if I should post this on the funny pictures thread, or in here. I decided here is best:
i feel that one, especially now that ive gotten into pvp duelling with friends.
I create multiple builds with different weapons and skills only to die because of my own lack of skill sometimes
“the worst she can say is no”
So I finally fucking reached the three fingers in my ng+, and inherited the flame of frenzy. So nice I’ve got my ending. Heres my consensus on ng+ so far. Its fantastic, its the perfect revenge and clean-up trip you can get in the lands between and its so fun to experiment with a larger variety of weapons and kill bosses in fun ways (like morgott jar cannon only)
It’s been a while huh,
A few updates from me. For Elden Ring I nearly have all achievements, only the 2 ending achievements remain. Whom will be dealt with shortly. Iam also really loving pvp against friends and cooping with strangers to help them out. This is the first souls game where I’m actively playing pvp and man is it fun to just duel like noble, or less noble warriors. showing off fun gear, weapons and outfits we created.
As for sekiro, I’m currently a bit stuck between two equally difficult walls, Genichiro Ashina & Juzou the Drunkard. I will keep pushing myself until I can kill Juzou as I’ve heard a full exploration of Hirata is good if yer stuck on Genichiro.
You may try to explore more on Ashina, Sunken Valley and Gun Fort meanwhile just to take a break. There is a funny npc who can help you beat the drunkard - distraction, he greets like - SEKIROOOOOO and hides in the grass.
Maybe try to pacify the kids of the Drunkard nearby one by one like Silent Assassin from back or lure him in the muddy grass. There is a weakpoint on the drunkard, I wont spoil it, gather more intel hehe.
Did you meet Spiderman ?
I did not
I may have to explore of ashina as i have 2 still living generals but i dont know what sunken valley and gun fort are
you may still explore till that end without defeating Geni 1 and meet spidey hehe.
Update - Other path leads to monk temple .
lol
Golden Order Totality has to be my favourite emote in the game. It’s been a little sad to see a bit of a decline in emote use (compared to DS3) in co-op/PvP because of the ability to teabag.
Id like your post if i could, but out of likes.
But yea golden order totality is amazing, they gave us an actual t-pose and im a bit saddened that more people dont use elden rings great new emotes
I showed you my deathblow pls respond. I played Sekiro again, It’s been a few days, but hey being busy takes its time off other games. I did some cleanup and killed a shinobi hunter in Hirata estate also grabbed the loaded axe, tried to kill juzou and failed, got a key from past owl for hirata aswell, though no clue where the key goes, killing both the generals i wanted to kill, one near ashina reservoir and the other in front of Ashina castle. So thats nice i got another hp and posture upgrade out of that and tried to kill genichiro with this new found longevity. It took a few tries but I finally got both his phases down. Thinking i was done a cutscene begins to play and I see this.
this made my courage drop into my boots a bit. I lasted a bit in this third phase but was eventually bested by a move i didnt see properly so… tried again and died in the third phase. I think now its a matter of trying to learn. Otherwise i can still attempt juzou or get further into senpou temple/ashina reservoir as ive found new bosses and paths.
Firstly, I would personally suggest to stick with Geni, and donot take up any other games or boss - the point is your reflex on your subconscious mind may forget if you switch.
Keep practicing by aggressively hitting Geni and when that danger sign appears when he leaps just dodge left and continue hitting him aggressively.
The aim to to not take damage till his third phase. You could use the sword-rush (or shadow-rush, forgot the name) move but keep that for the third phase.
Oh the Mikiri counter playes a very important role here, as he comes to slash you while another danger sin - just use the mikiri.
On his third phase - do you know why did he remove his armor - such that he could be insulated on the lightning. So do the same as phase 1 and 2. Just as he does the lightning strike, jump to stay insulated from the ground and slash back the electricity to him like a baseball or cricket bat. Trust me he is the most weakest in third phase without those armor.
On the other note, the drunkard is vulnerable to fire mixed with oil. But donot try the drunkard, because another annoying boss is after him.
@Screaming_Meat any suggestion ??
Exploration is always a great idea because of Sekiro’s “kill something to level up” system. Contrary to what zubin said, I’d say that if you’re really struggling, there’s no harm in going somewhere else: there might be a boss that you find much easier.
Genichiro is the first test of the game in my opinion. His fight has a great flow: attack until he deflects you, then deflect (or dodge if he uses a perilous attack) him until you find an opening to be aggressive again. If you can beat Genichiro, you’ve got the basic concept that From wants you to use, this measured sort of aggression, not backing off. Consider setting him on fire or using shuriken to stop his posture from recovering if you do need to heal.
You probably don’t have Shadowrush yet, so I wouldn’t worry about that. As zubin said, Phase 3 is by far the easiest: stay at mid range to bait a lighting attack, then jump + attack to reflect it for massive damage and a huge window to attack freely.
Juzou is good practise for fighting slower enemies, and there’re plenty of items + another cool (and profitable) boss after him. I’d recommend getting rid of all of his buddies first, then going in with your AI friend.
nothing better than either you or @Wolfhawk101 mentioned.
its been a while, but genichiro is like the game’s first real test. i would, however, say the boss after the drunkard is easier. it also gives you an attack increase, which is handy, so i would recommend doing that first.
with genichiro, the only advice i have is don’t worry about beating him, just learn and recognise his combos in phase 1. he uses these throughout the fight. it seems like he has loads of different moves and can feel overwhelming, but it’s only 8-9, iirc, and they are easily recognisable and can be countered. it will take time though.
you have to chip away his health first to reduce his stagger meter. once you have a good feel for his moveset, you want to really get in his face and aggressively deflect/counter his moves, getting hits in during his down time. his sweep attacks are a blessing in disguise because you can get a fair few hits in after bouncing off his head. once he’s not regenerating stagger, it’s a case of aggressive deflecting and countering. it took me a long time, but once it clicks you will feel like this:
the second phase has a few new moves, but you want to bait his lightning slam. jumping as it hits and then attacking before you land will throw the lightning back at him. it’s the most damaging move you can do to him at this point. otherwise it is just learning the combos.
there is an air sword slam thingy that he does during phase 2 that has three parts. the second part seems like a sweep but it can be deflected normally. you can either parry, parry, mikiri each part or side-step (attack), parry, mikiri it if you need to whittle his health down. you’ll know the move when he does it.
this is a hard fight and took me a long ass time to overcome, but it is amazing, imo. you’ll come out the other end able to take on anything this game offers.
good luck!
Ok wow, lots of useful advice and support! so thank you all for that, now for specific answers.
In his first phase I’ve noticed i can easily counter his jump up followed by a thrust danger sign with a mikiri counter for huge poise damage and a free hit on his health and in his second phase its a sweep i can jump counter. so that isnt much an issue.
I do not have that move yet sadly.
the lightning strikes are the difficult part for me at phase 3, though they seem like a thing i just need to see more of to counter. Also in the dms you gave me a lot of helpful videos that for exploration and bosses, so I’ll be sure to use those. (well except the boss cheese strats, because even though im a shinobi i like to be honourable) I also ignored your spoiler section in favour of choosing the choice i want.
Yup, I’ve found a lot of new places to go and do now.
thats actually something i havent tried yet, i was mostly using the spear to knock him out of some arrow/windup attacks and forcing him to deflect or take a hit.
yea and how to get around gank squads like a true ninja, I’ve actually tried the fight some more and its clicking, still not beaten though.
Oh that would be very handy, the hp and posture bar upgrade i got helped tremendously with genichiro so an attack upgrade to completely seal the deal would be great.
Im glad to say ive got phase 1 down to a tea and all his moves in that phase and the variations there on are of no threat to me anymore. atleast, if i dont make a stupid mistake.
On my first time getting to lighting cock he did this move first and i dodged it out of pure fear but still seeing the perilous thrust icon pop up. So i hope this means i got what it takes to dodge it when im not in total shock (pun intended.)
I haven’t beaten it yet but it feels like one of the best fromsoft bosses ever
