I’d like to elect mimic tear as the best bossfight in this game for the simple fact it made seeing my character twice on the same screen possible

also its really fucking trippy fighting someone that literally has the same moves as you, despite how easy it is.

The best part of Mimic Tear is BY FAR the messages everyone writes.

Pathetic sort ahead therefore seek introspection

Victory! Therefore defeat?

Didn’t expect weak foe, sadness…

Elden Ring’s messaging is peak messaging. The old but hole jokes are still there but there’s a bunch of other running jokes the community has started, from edge lord to dog to fort, night. The vastly increased library of gestures definitely helps, too.

I made a video of it, that I didn’t upload due to me wanting a drawn thumbnail. And being busy with school made that very difficult, I’m still busy with school but i found some free time to squeeze out an okayish looking thumbnail of Harry Nagbottoms.

Yaaay !!! Finally completed Elden Ring. Beat the final boss only once and did all 4 endings (around 10 minutes) LOL.
I have completed the game and just realized there is a crafting tool which I never used :frowning:
It is a Masterpiece.

You mean the rannis rise, or the two fingers deathsite?

Both as well as ranni’s rise’s site of grace after completing the game

I already went back to rannis rise, and though it was satisfying seeing the sniveling Seluvis have his back cracked like a cracker it was less fun having to kill Blaidd, though funnily enough I absolutely destroyed him and took zero damage. I only took emotional damage

Personally I feel the key to beat Elden Ring is optimizing your build(stats to level up). Sometimes we have unwanted points in non-usable category like for Magic - points on Arcane is not needed. And for that there is an option to rebirth using a limited key item (known as L***** Tear). I wish not to spoil how to reallocate points / rebirth.
With this you can rearrange the points and spend on required category.
For me, I found the following INT+STR build/two weapons very reliable -

Short Range (Attack):

Ruins Greatsword (with Wave of Destruction)
Required Strength must be atleast 50 points

  • the more Intelligence point, the more damage Wave of Destruction does.

Long Range (Shoot):

Lusat’s Glintstone Staff (Comet Azure)
Required Intelligence must be atleast 52 points
or Meteorite Staff (Before reaching required points)

Summary:

Vigor - as much as you can
Mind - as much as you can
Endurance - as per Equipment Load
Strength - atleast 50
Intelligent - more than 90
Ignore Arcane and Faith (less that 10)

For this, I used a little not so honest  method on From Software PS4 save file trick to only learn the game without wasting the limited rebirth item (L***** Tear).
The aim was to change stats points by allocating to a specific category using one L***** Tear, try a big boss - note down the damage it causes by testing the weapons - revert/reset back the save file try another allocation and note down which is the best weapon with stats allocation.
I used this technique to reuse limited items before great bosses and a checkpoint to do multiple endings in one game run on Sekiro - this helped me reduce my anger and rage by 50% LOL - The Guardian Ape really pissed me.

I am sharing the From Software Save Trick which might be useful your you all (Please ignore if you already know this trick):

  1. Take a flashdrive and format it to FAT32 in a computer (learned from a note on this forum for taking PS4 screenshot)
  2. Insert the flashdrive to USB port of PS4.
  3. To copy the PS4 save files as a back up - On PS4, Settings > Application Saved Data Management > Saved Data in System Storage > Copy to USB Storage Device.
  4. To copy the back up save files to PS4 - On PS4, Settings > Application Saved Data Management > Saved Data in USB Storage Device > Copy to System Storage Device.
  5. You may need to check Elden Ring game if you have multiple games on your PS4.
  6. Be careful if you take a backup to USB and replace that with a used item save file - best is to copy the USB to your computer.
  7. It is not possible to copy multiple save points to a single USB, so best is to make multiple back up to your computer.
  8. This is for all games who doesnot allow us to save multiple save points in one game run, so we are using it for our advantage - ha ha

I would personally suggest to use the above trick and find yourself your best weapon and how to optimise the stats points to take the best profit out of it.
Lastly I found Black Knife Tiche a very helpful companion Spirit.
Enjoy your Game !! :grinning:

All play styles can work, but some bosses are designed to be more punishing towards specific builds. I’ve pumped 50 into Arcane and been doing plenty Arcane Bleed damage especially after the recent buffs Arcane is scaling properly and isn’t uselessly broken now.

Agree with you - I meant for Magic build as an example. Honestly it will take a lot of time and farming to make all 99 points. For Arcane, I used a bleeding Katana on Malenia.

i dunno, there are people - strange people full of time and lacking responsibilities - that complete these games without upgrading their stats at all. you can have a non-optimal build with stray points here and there, and still comfortably finish the game, i reckon.

the key to beating any souls game is less about numbers and more to do with knowledge; mainly in the form of pattern/animation recognition

(that and patience. unending reserves of patience)

the main upgrades happen in the player’s brain, not the attributes.

to throw my hat into this ring, i think the key to beating a souls game is having fun. if you have a build yer comfortable with and are having fun with you’ll surpass any challenge because it is fun to play with that build. Being optimal never really mattered in these games because like @Screaming_Meat says its more about recognition and knowledge

I think there is a lot of trade offs with NG Builds. You either invest in being able to use the Comet Azure for Magic but it’s at the sacrifice of things like Vigor or Endurance.

While a meta does exist especially for PVP all PVE Play-styles will work within a PVE Environment. It’s just all a matter of fact how you want to get around the lands between. Use your fists? Dual Wield Giant Hammers? Or shoot out a glorified laser beam. The world is your oyster.

But I personally think what makes one’s build come together is the Talismans one uses which can if used properly make a build better.

Clothing can also play a factor since they can have passive effects, but you will actually have to read the descriptions to see what they do too.

The White Mask headpiece for example is really good and betters your bleed.

Yes Talismans play important role.

I have a general doubt regarding multiplayer. Is playstation plus subscription needed to see other player’s hints ?
I was able to create/view other players hints in Sekiro when I played 2 3 months back without subscription.
Hint is the recording players make on finding an item/beating boss such that it helps other players.
I am not able to use any multiplayer item nor create or view any hint recordings in the elden ring game.
Can anyone please confirm in ps4/xbox/pc ?
