Rumors about a new Hitman game - let's wait together!

You listening IOI? A reason to bring Victoria back and give her something interesting to do.

Coƶp is cool but this idea is probably gonna cause some critical response. Sounds like another Absolution story.

I am confident this is possible without making it sexually charged.

Here is my obligatory write-up of exactly that in the wishlist category:

Wishlist - A New Protagonist

The way Dishonored 2 did it has my preference.
Victoria already able. Just a choice to the player from the start.
Why complicate something that should be upfront?

Iā€™m open to new ideas, but didnā€™t this sort of get teased with Victoria and ended up with a negative reception from fans? As for Co-Op mode, we saw Knight and Storm introduced in Hitman 2 for Co-Op and then it was eventually brought to a close.

In my opinion, 47 works better alone, but thatā€™s just me :slightly_smiling_face:

I think most of us agree. Having a co-op gives a whole other feel than being a loneriding scary ā€œurban legendā€ out there.

Iā€™ve seen an idea for coop mode where lore wise 47 is dreaming of his old assignments, hence why 2 47s would work together. It would be pretty fun to customize your look and loadout and then play a mission with a friend or a random person online, plus the online aspect of the last few games would make more sense to be included this time around.

I personally want Hitman Absolution 2ā€¦.

Said no one ever.

But u dont really need Sir David Batesonā€™s voice for Agent 47? After all it could be done with AI cloning, right? 47 is a clone btw

I donā€™t expect a new game in a while. Depends on 007. If itā€™s successful, theyā€™ll probably make sequels. 47 and Dianaā€™s story is open-ended right now, they could be doing freelancer until their deaths.
What worries me is that if they decide to make another game 5 years from now and decide to pick up their story at the current time, theyā€™ll both be very old, specially Diana, a regular human.
I donā€™t know if theyā€™ll do another one. A ton of things can happen in these next years.
I have to add I have read somewhere the HITMAN series in development hell is being worked with again, maybe thatā€™s what theyā€™ll give us HITMAN fans in the meantime. This and random ETs until the end of service, which I donā€™t hope isnā€™t very soon.
Edit: Iā€™m seeing a lot of people talking about Victoria here, maybe sheā€™ll return from the bus at some pointā€¦ if sheā€™s needed.

Why? Why if Davidā€™s still working, and we have humans that could do the job in case David isnā€™t available anymore? AI is a tool, not a substitute.
Iā€™ll have to eat my words in a few years from now when AI becomes the norm (donā€™t expect anything less from the big companies, what separates us from that is time) and human input will be rare, but for now- AI is still just a tool.

I think Diana is also timeless. I canā€™t imagine 47 without her. Heā€™d probably retire or have a mental break down. They will always be mid 40s in every game unless IO decide to reboot.

Or at least keep the appearance of that age. 47 will probably only start slowing down once he hits his 80s, and Diana is gonna have access to the best medical care in the world, so she can probably pull a Cher and keep looking middle-aged into her mid-70s or so.

LOLā€¦ itā€™s the James Bond approach. It would be odd if she aged and he didnā€™t bc then eventually they would have to replace her and, much more so then M in the Bond films, she is critical to the story.

Pretty sure by the time Diana dies or gets old enough to quit, 47 will have had enough himself by then. The safehouse and the skills heā€™s picked up along the way show heā€™s branching out for the inevitable day he canā€™t do it anymore, and once Diana is done for whatever reason, heā€™ll hang up the Silverballers at that point, Iā€™m sure, and live in luxury the rest of his life. Assuming nobody cracks Ort-Meyerā€™s code and finally succeeds in creating a genuinely superior killer to 47 and he goes out as a target of a hit himself.

Not to totally derail but I fully believe they end up together in some sort of strange non physical relationship. :joy:

As far as Iā€™m aware, 47ā€™s story moves inside a timeline. Heā€™s doing things in our present, 2024, and both Diana and him have an age (47ā€™s 60 and Dianaā€™s 52 by todayā€™s 29/12/2024), so they actually age. 47ā€™s body is revealed to work like in his mid-30s in Hokaido. Hitmanā€™s story always has Diana and 47, but if they continue realistically showing their ages and decide to make a game in a few years which happens at the current time by then (like what they did with WoA), both will have aged physically and mentally a ton, specially Diana, who has regular genes.
The Hitman timeline has a ton of big gaps (this is missing HITMAN 3 but you get the idea), they could alternatively decide to fill one of those with one or various games, but they wonā€™t happen in the ā€œpresentā€ and so the problem I explained wonā€™t be needed to be touched upon because theyā€™ll be younger.
Of course, they could reboot the franchise (again) and throw the current canon out the window, but only time will tell.
