Aw really? Well that’s a bummer, thank you for letting me know though as I’ll definitely keep that in mind in the future. And thank you so much for making a new profile pic for me.
edit After reading @TheChicken’s post, I’ve decided to just go along with the rainbow pride flag until this stuff regarding the pan flag settles a bit. Thank you to everyone who notified me about it.

I looked up some references to this, and ended up on this thread from the creator of the pan flag.
Seems it’s all just controversy and lies fabricated to cut them out of the community, for whatever reason.

Also this is pretty useful too
this specifically is a great rundown of it all
edit: one more fuel for the fire
I’m not familiar with the pan community so I’m not really sure who’s trustworthy and where are good sources, but I’ve found the general consensus has been “its been debunked, people keep trying to smear Jasper for god knows why”
All I really know is the pink is for femininity, the blue is for masculinity, and the yellow is for non-binary (or can be interpreted as whatever else isn’t in the “gender norm”)

I don’t think any flag is the “new pan flag”, sorry for spreading misinformation I will try to do more research next time

I think everyone is always susceptible to falling for misinformation. You were very careful about it and didn’t claim it to be as the truth:
Don’t worry too much about it. I should be the one thanking you for clarifying this which was how I started to research about it a bit and (possibly) how @TheChicken managed to find some more information.

decided on this pride icon!
initially, I’d wanted a nonbinary flag behind it, but every which way I placed it, it was barely visible in the icon. Cheers to such a welcoming community

Don’t worry, you didn’t do it maliciously and didn’t know the specifics behind it. I get why you might have been worried if someone mentioned that the creator was a bad person.
It actually helped me learn a bit more about the pan community and origin of the flag so that’s a happy accident!

I just noticed @v1deost has an ear there. I originally thought it was a nose when I saw it.

It’s pretty cool to see all the pretty colours lighten up everyones avatars. I won’t be taking part cause I’m not LGBTQ. Although it does remind me how the character in my profile pic, Whisper, from the Sonic IDW comics has a ton of people shipping her with fellow IDW newcomer Tangle, and also how the person who is taking over the IDW writing has stated they want an openly LGBT character in the roster. Just depends if Sega of Japan will let them do it.

I’m not LGBT myself (at least as far as I know). Is it offensive to be wearing the flag?

I am not LGBT+ either and I made mine an endorsement for Pride Month. I mean allies have their own flag if you want to include that in some way.

I am a gay and whatever feels appropriate to you, I say do it. If you want to have a rainbow background as a gesture of allyship that’s great but if you don’t no pressure.

as a gay enby I think any appropriate form of allyship is good, if you want to add a pride flag into your profile picture that is great, just make sure it the appropriate flag eg: Lipstick Lesbian Flag
, Sunset Lesbian Flag

I was wondering how did you add the rainbow? did you do the hard work yourself or is there some kind of online service that does it?

I used blood, sweat and tears for mine.
(Also a lil Google search for reference)
You can display the flag as a sign of ally-ship.
The first big step to inclusion is normalization, and the only way that happens is if everyone as a collective starts using it as if it were normal.
This is also why openly sharing pronouns has seen a large uptick in recent years. Regardless of whoever’s straight, cis, whatever, including them opens up a more inclusive environment where others who don’t fit the “gender norm” of He/Her pronouns can use them and be respected for it.

There are some online services that put a rainbow overlay on any picture. Like this one.
If you want it to look a little bit more professional, I suggest Photoshop or a similar program. I use Photopea. It’s got almost everything Photoshop has. But it’s free, online and doesn’t store any data.
There you go, @Norseman

Thanks, I’ll apply it later today.

I’m also not LGTBQ+ or whatever, I just like the rainbow.

@Norseman made a clearer one for you. Now the right side of the face is included.
And about the “How”, I’m not sure if this is universal in android phones but newer version Samsungs have a crop tool, which you can crop in any shape you want with.

The current one is fine for the purpose, but thanks anyway.
