The big version of your new pic shows that 47 has an interesting way of reloading. He either finger tips the magazine or bends his fingers so the mag is between the outside of his fingers and the pad of his thumb. The former is more likely but both are totally strange 
another moment where a game fan is looking way to far into a detail that is likely not meant to be that way

Herein is Northstar most commonly regarded as the first gay superhero. This was his coming out in Alpha Flight #106 (The EiC (Jim Shooter if I recall) really didn’t want LGBT themes in comics, it was bad for business) but it sold out when it hit the stands despite Alpha Flight being niche.
