I said it before, but it was very experimental, and I am happy they fulfilled it till the end.
That really was disappointing. And the guard outside his room doesn’t even see you enter. It’s the easiest kill of them all.
Right! I really wish we could play this ET a few times and not just once. Got the feeling I missed a lot of cool stuff.
Shame they didn’t update the map in-game for this. Quite often, according to the minimap, NPCs are standing out of bounds.
i saw that in the ign gameplay video and hoped it was just a beta
I DEMAND A RETRY!! I suddenly died when I was standing behind the shooting range. I can’t fail my perfect track record because of a glitch.
I was standing right here where the two hackls are, the doctor was saying her thing and then dropped dead out of nowhere. The worst part is that I haven’t been able to replicate it.
@Combatglue is there a way to reactivate it?failing an ET because of a glitch is completely unfair.
Edit: I also want to clarify that i wasn’t in the line of sigh of any of the clones, i was in the middle of them
Really fun ET, the number of targets can seem daunting at first but after a few experiments in the arcade I managed to finish the ET itself in around 7 minutes (and I’m sure the timing could be improved). There are 2 big groups of clones and the ones in the basement are basically 6 free kills, so in the end it’s not particularly harder than a 5-target contract.
Don’t start killing clones before they turn red though, I learned that the hard way lol. It’s also kinda funny the explosive baseball kill counts as an accident like it does for Caruso
Highlights from my #TeamNoRestarts run.
Took my sweet ass time. I was probably overly cautious on a couple of the kills (notably the dancer, since I didn’t trust that the people watching him wouldn’t start freaking out) and I rushed the man himself because I was kind of paranoid that killing all the clones would trigger him escaping (or at least leaving the room).
Overall, (mostly) pretty easy, but really entertaining. As much as I haven’t liked certain decisions IO has made recently, this was well done and probably the most fun I’ve had in WoA since Freelancer released.
I had that happen to me, but luckily it was while the servers were still down and I was playing it offline.
This was a great, unique ET narrativewise and for the first playthrough, not much replay value for the Arcade, but eh. The unique kills were very funny, loved the splitting trash compactor guy and how he could be killed in two ways with it and especially the boiling clones, that was hilarious in its brutality. On the first try, however, I was stuck when I tried to lock two clones in the sauna. After pressing the prompt 47 would just stand there and the game even crashed before I even got to alt+f4. The sauna as the bodybag spot was also stupidly funny.
On the first try before I was hardlocked I also killed Valliant by grabbing him to the vent from his office (out of bounds) and having a guard wake him up after which he died of a heart attack hehe. On the second try I did the golfball thing because I knew of it beforehand and was able to get SA as well, not that the mission was that hard.
Loved this joke too, gotta be intentional.
Good to know I’m not the only one, so it’s definitely a glitch. I’ve been trying to replicate it this whole time with no success, I’ll make sure to post a video when I finally get it.
Once again, I think I’m on my right to request a reactivation.
Got it!!! I was finally able to replicate the glitch, I dropped dead for no reason.
@Combatglue sorry for pinging you again but this needs to be addressed, can I request a reactivation? Because failing this way is unfair.
Overall I think that while it’s a good mission with a good amount of map changes, The Splitter is a bad ET given how many targets there are to deal with. And since all the targets get marked on the map, how elusive is the target really?
My biggest negative outside of the number of targets is how restricted you are at the start going in. I would’ve liked some more options such as starting in a suit and figuring out a way to infiltrate the facility yourself or even disguising yourself as Mr. Pritchard and attending the meeting that way.
I’d estimate the average time for people to complete the ET is around the 45 minute mark. After already knowing what to do it took me 32:41. And with a long time like that I still managed to be 78th overall on the leaderboards!
Given The Disruptor had only a 47.2% completion rating, I’d be very surprised if The Splitter has an overall success rate above 33% and a Silent Assassin completion above 20%.
I’m fine with rerunning duplicate ETs each year (or in the case of The Undying Returns, twice in the same year) cause they have many different kill opportunities and can be completed pretty quickly Silent Assassin. But I have a feeling that this one will be annoying to replay over and over again cause of how involved it is and how there aren’t really that many different ways to take out the targets
Ohhh, man, I can’t wait to play this! (Though I probably won’t have time tonight. Watching the Game Awards with Silvereyes)
I do also want to stream it to help with the drops for people.
I was just browsing the Hitman subreddit, looking for people finding out about the coin and seasonal decorations, and kept scrolling past a few vague pictures and comments and bug reports of the new ET mission…
Seems they’ve heavily modified the ICA Facility.
There’s a training room somewhere??? That’s new!
There’s apparently a sauna now somewhere??? Also “new” for Chongqing at least… HUH?
This sounds like they put in a lot of work into editing the level, probably to the same level (or more) than the Drop and Disruptor. Gosh, the Hitman 3 team is really going above and beyond for these special ETs recently…
Yeah, I really like how much they’ve changed the facility. Will be enjoying playing this in Arcade loads (although the mandatory level 2 no disguise/no compromise complications are quite annoying for every celeb ET arcade we have had so far…)
I just had the exact same issue - two guys in the sauna, pressed the prompt to block the door and it just froze up. Didn’t crash but i couldn’t do anything except Alt+f4 anyway so same outcome.
The Block is completely deserted but still has an active surveillance system so you can run over there and disable the cameras before even setting foot in the facility
Next try and a bodybag was left in the entrance of the sauna so the door wouldn’t close. I’m thinking the sauna might be a bit of an issue…
Done.
It is fun.
Congratulations to the devs.
Ran it once in the Arcade first level. With the default loadout.
And did it by the flow of the tour, the mission story.
So by the time I arrived in the lower level, three NPCs were roaming there. I had two chloroform flasks on me.
But as I dropped one to knock a duo out, I realised my forgetting of it being now an illegal action. Two unconscious witnesses, no SA.
Did fiber-wire Valiant though. The classic.
So the Elusive run went this way:
- Run from the start to Valiant Office
- Sabotage Evidence Recorder, take Tier 3 Dongle, take Explosive Golfball
- Run to the gym, coin the facility guard (masked), new disguise
- Run to the Vats, the Embryonic Clones, detour by smuggle point, lone Core Engineer. Kalmer
- Wait for Diana to update the targets
Boil them, smash them, stick them in a stew (6/14)
- Talk to the two Core Engineer in front of the Defective Clone
Lethal Poison Syringe (I think he’s safe for any elimination, but to be sure) (7/14)
- Run to the mission story presentation
- Answer the 135 millions dollars question by sitting down just in time
- Follow the mission story tour up to the range
- NOT ENTER THE RANGE, because I saw @Guillermo_Murillo video
- Go to the gym, Researcher needs to use the bathroom, new disguise
Go out of my hair, Incinerator (8/14)
- Change back into street guard, catch back the tour
Live to entertain, Fight demonstration (9/14)
- Run to the range, place the explosive golf-ball in the basket
- Catch back the tour
Pitch in the office, distant explosion in the range (10/14)
Break Valiant sunglasses with a pen (11/14)
- Follow to the locker room the second range clone as the first one is dragged in the sauna.
Sulking, and a Black Lilly (12/14)
- Change back to the Researcher, check for the body bag in the sauna to be sure
Double Sauna (14/14)
- Emergency exit, 20 minutes, Silent Assassin
This was also my first play on my new console.
The jump isn’t a lot, but it is noticeable in texture pop-in and loading time. I think FPS improved too.
(also contrary to my old Xbox it doesn’t take 5 minute to boot, and doesn’t need a weekly factory reset, hopefully.)
And I got it right!

Silly idea that popped in my head
What if the six clones on the lower level were in cloning vats or other artistic equivalent?
Obviously those assets are from a C47 remake currently in the work…
Pretty happy with the map changes, considering this is ‘Just an ET’; that coupled with the high target amount makes me think this simply should’ve just been a paid (but cheap) Special Assignment maybe… would give you way more than when they were selling Sins individually (or the H2 Special Assignments).
As a modder I’m interested in figuring out how to best add it to Freelancer Variations, in regards to having all of Pritchard and Valiant’s scripts proceed without 47 being around, and whether to make any clones targets. Also interested in looking at Van Damme’s voice set and seeing if it can reasonably be ported into Accent Overhaul Mod, but I can see lots of lines are simply left empty so he doesn’t speak in a lot of situations, will need to wait for the hash list to be able to get a proper sense of what I’m working with.
Sadly there were bugs I encountered in my one arcade playthrough just now:
- Sauna door cannot be closed after it has been used once. This means you can lose SA because the sauna door is a body dump spot for guards, and they will see into the forced open door (This is what happened to me after I lured a second guy to the sauna, KO’d him then realised it won’t let me close the door and cook him so I had to suspiciously snap his neck in there). Also means you miss out on more sauna kills for no real reason.
- There is a random collisionbox here
- The ETA challenge says “Eliminate Max Valliant who is part of The Replication”, that’s exactly what I did by completing part 1 yet I did not get the challenge. If you mean “Complete The Replication” then say that.
- Even though the Tonfa is a usable weapon in the game they decided to make it unusable here?
- These guns float, and I have no idea why Valliant is using Crest Militia weapons
- I dismissed this guard and he completed his dialogue and yet wouldn’t leave (until there was an explosion, he went alerted, then eventually cooled down)
- This guy is an enforcer but you don’t see his dot because it turns out NPCs can’t see… through glass
But for free (even if time-limited) content this is pretty good stuff from IO, I can’t complain! Excited to get better use out of it in mods!
