You’re right! I totally forgot about their previous suits!
When I discovered them and the Sanguine store for the first time, it was an interesting feeling, regarding how they connected topics of the previous level with Sapienza. Perhaps it was a way to convey to the player that there will be many references in the upcoming levels/ games.
One of them, Daniel Samper, is still present in the map: now he’s guarding the evidence recorder(previously unguarded) in the town hall, near the Hippie’s room.
Not sure about the rest of them, they could be moved elsewhere in the map, but I could be wrong.
He is even present twice now as recording station guards (with that name). Forgot at which the other is.
As far as I know, on Sapienza there were added three guards on each security recorder (excluding the one in the church): I’m not sure, but my bet would be the one on the bio-lab. I need to check it out.
I am sorry if someone mentioned this but they added a Moroccan soldier in Marrakesh that patrols the bazaar near where Pamela Kingsley is
I’ve been going through 2016 and I just noticed that the NPC who you meet during the mission story as Mr. Jason Portman is wearing a doctor disguise, but in Hitman 2 and 3 he’s wearing a surgeon disguise. Apparently he was originally a surgeon in 2016, but he was changed to a doctor for some reason, making it much harder to get the surgeon disguise outside of starting undercover and making the mission story kinda useless in 2016. I’m very glad they changed it back in the later games.
I’msurprised, that nobody mentioned the flare smokes in Marrakech…
Also, this is an out of bounds detail, but still visible, when the ‘outro’ cutscene of Paris plays: the bus stop in H(2016) and H2 displayed (correctly in french, I might add) that there’s no bus traffic. In Hitman 3 this is absent.
Finally, not a map change, but the name of an npc: In Hitman 2016, the reporter next to the fountain in Paris wasn’t called Pam originally, though I’m not 100% sure, I’ll check that out.
In The Showstopper: A CICADA Bodyguard (Emmanuel Bourgeois), the Super Enforcer who patrols the Bar and Terrace area, doesn’t exist in Hitman 1. Must have been added in Hitman 2 to show/teach the newly added crowd blending.
Also the water bottle he drinks from on the Terrace is also not in Hitman 1.
I hate that guy everytime what outfit you wear he still knows everyone
It was an awful change and a lot people didn’t like it at the time but was never reverted.
I guess they failed to visualize what effect deleting certain evidence had. Also did being recorded in area 1 and delete evidence in area 2 got you back SA? I can imagine that was a bit buggy as well. But it is too long ago to remember.
From what I remember it wasn’t buggy at all and worked fine. The only issue I recall is it not being obvious in any way in-game what was going on - all they needed was some dialogue from Diana if you wiped the wrong footage ie “47, the footage you just wiped did not contain the footage of you. You’ll need to find another recording station”.
Getting caught in Area 1 and wiping Area 2’s footage didn’t restore SA either - I remember deleting footage in a different area to where I was recorded and initially being confused as to why I didn’t get SA in a run in Sapienza. It wasn’t until I went to reddit and saw a thread that I figured out what had happened. I then re-did the run exactly and wiped the right footage and got SA.
That shouldn’t even matter, half the stuff in Hitman you only learn by fail and error anyway. It isn’t like Hitman is a game you can glance at and understand instantly, you get the basics but the deeper mechanics require many many hours of play.
I can see what you mean but I found some old footage on YouTube and this is the only message that appeared. There was absolutely nothing to indicate that the correct footage hadn’t been wiped, which is a bit of a flaw in the implementation since there really should have been some sort of notification - even if it was just changing it to “Biolab Evidence Deleted”. Giving absolutely nothing to the player and expecting them to just figure it out is pretty bad imo.
Nowadays with the SA tracker, it would at least give you a hint that you have gotten something wrong - but back then you had no idea until you exited and its too late (unless you loaded a save to try figure it out).
I mean Hitman 2016 also had the feature where if your target saw you as you killed them you lost SA. So SA tracking in general was awful in early Hitman 1.
The SA tracker definitely helps and communicates to the player if they’ve fucked up or not. Hitman 2016 was a crap shoot every exit.
Isnt she Lindsey something?
Idk why they didnt just use the name of one of the deleted guards
