There was a Kings-Kraken game a week ago with 17 goals :joy:

We have had far too many NFL games this year with baseball scores too )=

Passing! Touchdowns! That’s what fans want to see.

Of course Shane Wright scores his first NHL goal against us

Johnny Kovacevic got his first in return though.

Winning too many games though. Need to start losing for the lottery

Is the NHL on a draft lottery too? I knew the NBA was and I think is bollocks, especially since they didn’t use to show the actual lottery. My understanding is they do now and all non playoff teams have a chance at it. People still think it’s rigged* lol. They should just go in inverse order by win loss record for the non playoff teams and by playoff results for the teams that make it.

*I mean people think the whole NBA is rigged.

Yes but only for the first two overall picks (the 3rd pick used to be a lottery pick but that was changed last year). Only the 16 teams that miss the playoffs are eligible for the lottery itself, although now the most any team can move up is 10 spots. So if the 14th placed team wins the lottery, they can’t pick 1st overall, but they do move up to 4th overall, and the worst team still picks 1st.

Fred Vasseur moves from Sauber CEO and Team Principle to become the new Team Principle at Ferrari. Andreas Sidel leaves McLaren to become the CEO at Sauber replacing Vasseur but will not be team principle.

It’s like team boss silly season. Sidel has to find a team principal for Sauber still, Williams needs to find one because Capito quit last week (he was rumored to be taking the Ferrari job), and McLaren will have to replace Sidel. I have never seen anything like it. Usually the teams promote from within or go get a racing guy who is wasn’t leading another F1 team and there isn’t this giant shuffle around like with the drivers.

Last night:

Habs regulation loss :white_check_mark:
Canucks win :white_check_mark:
Coyotes win :white_check_mark:
Panthers regulation loss :white_check_mark:
Blackhawks win :white_check_mark:
Blues OT point :white_check_mark:
Ducks OT point :white_check_mark:
Predators OT point :white_check_mark:
Flyers regulation loss :x:
Columbus regulation loss :x: (to the Blackhawks though, so not terrible)

Makes us 25th in the standings. Looked shaky for a bit but yup, we are in fact terrible enough to tank. I’m confident the Sens pass us when they get some injured players back, and I think Philly isn’t bad enough to be bottom 5. So the real competition is Chicago, Arizona, Anaheim and Columbus.

Arizona is getting better as the season goes on. Anaheim shouldn’t be this bad, and Columbus has a lot of injuries. Chicago though. Oof. Single digits in wins still. I don’t think it’s gonna be possible to do worse than them. Though if Florida keeps crashing, two top 10 picks at least are great.

Also, Columbus and the Blackhawks played for 6 minutes last night without a single shot on goal for either team. Hilarious.

Pro skateboarder Leticia Bufoni doing some crazy Redbull promo out of my old aircraft.

TCU leads Michigan 14-0 after the first quarter. :man_facepalming: A pick six, getting stopped on fourth and goal on a busted trick play. Michigan looks like crap. :weary:

Halftime update: It’s 21-6. Michigan had a chance to turn the momentum around taken away when the refs erroneously overturned a called touchdown and Michigan fumbled the ball at the goal line on the next play.

Michigan has been a dominant second half team, but TCU has been playing really well and Michigan keeps shooting themselves in the foot. It’s not over, but…I wouldn’t bet on a comeback. :disappointed:

End of the 3rd: 41-30 TCU. Michigan’s offense, other than another pick-six, looks like it’s old awesome self and the defense just recovered a fumble at the end of the quarter. They’re toying with my emotions.

Final: 51-45

Michigan got it within 3 and had TCU at 3rd and 7…and gave up a 70 yard touchdown. I’ll say this, for a game where Michigan was trailing the whole way it was entertaining as hell.

I guess the only thing left to root for is for Georgia (or, if necessary, TCU) absolutely demolishes Ohio State. :smiling_imp:

Ohio State missed a game-winning field goal…badly.

Georgia will play TCU for the championship.

I hope this guy makes it. Bills just gave an update 20 min ago and he’s still in a critical condition. I’m also 100% shocked they suspended the game. If you had asked me yesterday how they would handle a situation like this I would have bet a months salary the NFL would play on.

Of course we are. There is nothing else like it. The NFL has made nearly 50 rule changes in the last few years to make it safer, and concussions are down 25% over the same period but it is inherently a gladiator game. They could make it flag football, but then it wouldn’t be fun to watch.

The average NBA Finals game and MLB World Series game average less viewers than a normal non playoff NFL game and the SuperBowl is one of the worlds last enourmous spectacles.

Second only to the 3rd period of a Vancouver Canucks game

He can move his hands and feet and when he woke up he wanted to know only one thing… he asked if they won the game!!!

PK Subban is being honoured before tonight’s game, coincidentally against the Predators, who we traded him to. With PK there was no middle ground, you either loved him or hated him, and I loved him. Entertaining, fun to watch, generous. I thought the way he was traded was disgraceful. Thankfully the old management is gone and the new management is eager to mend fences, starting with PK (they also apparently wanted to honour Andrei Markov tonight as well but he presumably couldn’t leave Russia in time to make it) I hope we get to see him and Price do one last triple low five.

Here we go again. (Still the :goat:, though.)

Fun fact, Tom Brady was the last active athlete drafted by the Montreal Expos.

End of an era.

Kinda crazy how players from my two teams have both broken all time scoring records within a few days of each other.

Just a pity neither of them are going to win anything this season :joy:
