IO's communication with the community

I would also like to not remove posts for the fifth time. :joy:

Hey I’d like to say something that actually relates to Combatglue’s communication with us:

Regarding your last Featured Contracts batch, it seems that you just picked at random contracts that were posted in the Fan made contracts of Hitman WOA thread, and by “random” I mean that you didn’t even check the contracts since 2 of them rely on absurd exploited glitches in order to complete them with a Silent Assassin rating.

My point is that you should pick contracts the average player is able to Silent Assassin and not just pick contracts at random. At the bare minimum don’t pick contracts that rely on absurd glitches because even with the simplest glance we can tell these 2 relied on absurd glitches.

A solution to the matter might be going back to the format of submission threads to pick contracts from or just make sure the contracts can be completed with a 5 star rating without any exploits.

Videos of the 2 contracts that require absurd exploit glitches to complete:

Honestly it would be really nice if you removed these 2 as a whole due to the glitches they require to complete them.

Gltches you say, huh?
Well, maybe I don’t know something, maybe I didn’t pay attention or didn’t do those like it was intented by creator(s) but as far as I remember, I didn’t notice any unusualities.
Either way absurd, utilizing glithes or bugs contracts should be removed from the game at all.
@Combatglue can you please make sure that mentioned contracts are playtested and removed from the game entirely?
Also can you get and share any info on reporting broken or insulting contracts are actually being checked and removed from the game? Because if they are not paid attention to, then this “report of a contact” option just useless

I linked a video of each contract in my post right here

In each contract you need to eliminate target/s that are placed outside of mission area with kill methods that force you either to bring them to you or to go out of bounds to them.

With contracts that most of the community might consider just “not fun” we can still argue because it’s just a matter of taste, but here with these contracts that can’t be completed with 5 stars unless you use exploits we have nothing to argue about, no reason for these 2 to be featured and it’d be best if these were removed.

The first contract can’t be completed SA without using a glitch to go out of bounds, and the second contract can’t be completed SA without glitching the target through the wall, you can easily see that in the videos linked in Switcher’s post.

While I knew about the out of bounds glitch (I’ve never seen the second one before seeing a video from the contract’s creator showcasing it), it’s not something people playing FCs casually would know, and even less be able to trigger consistently (like, even if I knew how to do it it took me dozens of tries to glitch through the station’s roof successfully).

Didn’t they say they wouldn’t pick “troll” contracts anymore after that Dubai apple kill one a while back? Or do I misremember that?

Yeah echoing @Switcher terrible choices for FCs, I don’t mind them being present in the game as I’m sure some players like that sort of thing, but should definitely not be Featured imo. Certainly not 2 in one batch. And in the same location no less. Feels a really lazy selection.

Unrelated to the topic of communication with IOI, but, boosts’ height is tied to frame rate, the lower the frame rate the higher the boost is.

If you wonder how it comes into play I’ll just cut it short, on PS4 the boost is very consistent and you might end up higher than enough to complete the contract and on PS5 the boost is so inconsistent to the point you might give up at some point, why is it related to frame rate, the game runs on 30fps on PS4 and on 60fps on PS5, btw I play on PS5 and the highest I’ve ever got was the minimal height to SA the contract while PS4 players consistently managed to get higher than the moon.

Yeah, seriously remove these contracts.

I don’t think IOI ever said they’d stop picking contracts like that. I think they’ve picked at least one more food contract since then.

But as the contract-creator, I do know a lot of the community reeeeally got annoyed by the Apple one…

I don’t think anyone has playtested FCs for a long time.

Remember the modded contract The Art Lovers in December last year that didn’t have an exit? Yeah…

Clemens did said that thrown coin contracts won’t be picked prolly same reason

How many times do I have to apologise :sob: :sob:

At least they fixed it tho, I was surprised they did that

I’m blaming IO for that, not you tbh.

They should be playing the contracts to make sure that they work, given the number of modded contracts that are out there now. They shouldn’t just be assuming everything is fine and dandy.

I think I’ll always remember your FC from H1, Bangkok, The Source, to kill Jeff and his partner with a machete. The hard part was getting the machete to the room they were in and you couldn’t just throw the machete through the window and I’ll assume we couldn’t put large melee items like that into a suitcase (yet). I remember trying to use a breaching charge to launch it in and through a window. I don’t recall how many restarts that one took, but it was at least far less rage inducing than Urben’s Paris Santa neck snapping behind the bar with no KOs FC.

As for the Train Ride to Hell (or whatever it’s titled, by Sany72Q)… It seems it’s another case of using a breaching charge boost to either get 47 at the top of the map, or get OOB to ride some cable cars and trains.

We knew CG was, harsh as it sounds to say, a newbie to the game. And it really makes me wonder how he came across these contracts, and what he did to finish them (if at all). Did he do the fancy tricks? Or did he shoot an leave and think it was done and dusted? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

(uh, why am I talking about these latest batch of contracts in this topic? well, anyway…)

I did figure out the electrocution art FC when I was able to get a melee lock-on on the guy and he fell through the glass and died of an accident fall. But I watched a vid on it anyway to confirm.

They appear to have been randomly selected from the Fan made Contracts of Hitman WOA thread. His first batch were contracts posted in thread in January/February 2021. This current batch were taken from January/February 2022.

God forbid there is a third batch, but if one does get forced upon us contracts from January/February 2023 will likely be selected.

Edit: Just as a note for combatglue - part of the reason why going this far back is perhaps not the best idea is that contracts that used things that were once possible in the game, but have since been patched out might be selected.

There have been at least 2 others where I’ve done some kind of exploit. For the Burning Brock/Isle of S’gail contract, I used a weapon snag and disguise swap (or whatever the terms are - you know what I mean), and I led the plain-clothed guard in Whittleton Creek with the Mixtape-47 on a rat poison. I didn’t bother pushing him down the well - it was out of a window in the for-sale house.

Granted, those probably didn’t need the “tricks”, but they seemed like prime examples for such methods.

I’m not sure about the Sgàil contract as I haven’t played that one but hate as much as you want the one in Whittleton Creek - there is no need to use glitches and there are lots of ways to complete it without.
Personally, I just used emetics on everyone, but faster players did it in legal methods too.

Oh no. Wasn’t hating. I kinda like doing them in unusual ways. Having him follow me is less effort than making bystanders sick. Not faster, but I’m not too hung up on getting the fastest time.

These were voluntary. I didn’t feel like it was the only way… But I am not sure of how else one would do the one for Isle of S’gail. Outside of leaving a trail of coins for him to follow, but that would likely require KO’ing way more NPCs.

There is an oil barrel in the morgue Prep Room for Janus, but I led him to the barrel near the helicopter.
