IO interactive Bad Faith Business tactics

I just recently started playing The Hitman games. I play on Xbox series x. The first bundle I got said it included Hitman 3 when it did not. I contacted Microsoft they told me he was the developers issue not theirs. I contacted the developers at IO and they told me it was microsoft. Of course both are passing the buck. I finally talked to someone at Microsoft and they explained to me it’s just like a demo. And I suggested if it’s a demo then you need to say demo. You cannot say it includes a game and then not include that game. That is fraud. IO Interactive knowingly commits fraud on a daily basis. So after I realized it was just a demo I refunded it and dropped over $100 on the ultimate package world of hitman. As I’m playing this game I keep getting dropped because of the servers. I’ll be right in the middle of a game and the servers will drop and I’ll have to start all over again. So I decided to go in and turn the the game to offline. I figured that would fix the dropping problems. I didn’t understand why it’s online anyway to begin with it’s not a multiplayer game. So I just played the next mission and Hitman 1 because that’s what I’m on now and after I finished it it took me a couple hours. I realized there was no challenges there. No points being added to my character. Nothing unlocking. And then I found out that you can’t do any of that stuff when you’re offline. Are you kidding me? You’re telling me I have to be online to actually play part of the game. To actually get experience points and upgrade my character I have to be online are you kidding me? This is got to be the worst Developers I’ve dealt with. And that’s saying a lot because Ubisoft is horrible. And then on top of that I try to go play one of the other missions and it said if I fail it I have to wait 12 hours. Are you kidding me? You’re going to put a time limit on a product that I paid for. And not just a little for I dropped $100 for this and you’re telling me that I can’t play it I have to wait 12 hours if I fail. You know who fails you fail. I will interactive fails. Their upcoming Bond movie will also fail because they do not know how to run a company. All the reviews on all their games on Xbox are negative. How are these people still in business.

Some people keep dropping over 100 dollars left and right despite themselves.

Which edition did you buy? If you were able to refund it my guess would be that you bought Part One. If you bought that edition, as the description states, you were buying the missions from the first third of the game. If you did buy the demo, then it was a free purchase and I don’t really get why you would be able to refund it.
(PS: all editions of the game include the full game, the content is just locked unless you buy access to the content)

If the servers keep disconnecting you, that’s likely an issue with your internet, unless the servers were doing poorly that day.

Yes, all challenges, XP, and Mastery are tied to the servers. You can use your unlocked items offline, but you have to be online to unlock them.

That would be the Arcade gamemode, the entire gimmick is that instead of being permanently locked out of Elusive Target missions upon failing them, you are only locked out for 12 hours. Furthermore, they were added to the game in a free update, so unless you bought a celebrity DLC pack, you did not specifically buy the mission.

IOI is a fairly successful company, I don’t think their new James Bond game is going to fail because you don’t like their most recent Hitman game.

No, only some of them are negative, and most of those negative reviews are from people who did not read what they were buying before spending their money.

Because they have several very successful games and a dedicated fanbase on various platforms. Your experience with the game does not mean that everyone who plays it has the same issues.

In closing, I would suggest that you read a bit online about a game before spending a hundred dollars on it. If you spend that much money on something that you know little to nothing about, then the fault lies with you.

I don’t think you need to debunk every point one by one, there are some legitimate grievances here. the way the store is set up is confusing (but probably unavoidable since there are so many combinations of content people can own). the paid ET arcades being time locked is silly. the always online is and has always been horrible. I understand the way the original post is written isn’t exactly classy but I don’t think we need to get all snarky “should have read the fine print” like we’re IOI customer service

I wasn’t intending it to come across like that, I legitimately think that people should read about what they are buying before they buy it so that they do not waste money. I have made that mistake before and it really sucks when you lose money and only have yourself to blame.

Oh yeah, 100%, but it’s something that we (the players) just have to live with at this point. I feel like Arcades can and should lose the cooldown timer, but so far IOI does not seem to have plans for that.

I’m just trying to make sure that people know what I’m responding to with each sentence.

I agree. However, I believe partial faults lies with io as well. Albeit creating wonderful games, they didn’t treat the fans well moneywise. I bought H6, and I had to pay for its maps again as part of H2, and then again as part of H3. This shouldn’t happen.

I might be wrong but I think the maps should have been free if you owned them previously? you had to claim them using the ingame store (i.e. to get the H2016 maps in H2 you had to claim them through H2016)

Really? I didn’t know about it. Shame on me then

Arcade Mode is a mode where players can take on the challenge of completing selected Elusive Targets with additional complications. It’s an expanded version of the Elusive Targets mode, where you only have one attempt at the mission—if you fail, you can’t try again. In Arcade Mode, they introduced a 12-hour lockdown. For anyone familiar with the Hitman series, this mode is self-explanatory.

But indeed, from the perspective of new players, the concept might be completely unclear. There’s a small message explaining the rules of this mode, but not everyone reads it ;). Nevertheless, there should be a more detailed introduction to what this mode is, similar to the Freelancer mode. That said, it’s still an additional mode and not the core gameplay, so you shouldn’t have any complaints about it.

Uh, no. It’s offered by the game, therefore allowed to be criticised, which it has been in the past. The very birth of ETA was criticised for as it felt limited due to the “Hide all Bodies” complication, which got removed on all but one contract at the time, and has never re-appeared as an objective since.

That happened specifically because we, the audience, complained.

There is two bundles on the Xbox store and both include Hitman III, so I don’t know what’s gone on with your purchase?
