OK. So is the MetaQuest 3 is considered higher end VR headset gear than the Playstation VR2.
But the MetaQuest 3 VR of Hitman looks like low res-potato head cartoon-like people in a pastel washed out environment.
The upcoming PSVR2 release of Hitman 3 looks like typical Hitman.
Why is the MetaQuest 3 version rated so poorly as a VR game and looks potentially much worse than the upcoming PSVR2 VR title?
(A) It was a cheap ripoff, created by third party, XR Games, whereas the PSVR2 version is created by IOI?
(B) The PSVR2 tech is better than the MetaQuest 3 for Hitman VR?
(C) The port to the MetaQuest 3 was difficult because the hardware is not as good a match to Playstation who has Hitman 3 both for Playstation 4 and for its own headset?

The Meta Quest 3 is a standalone headset, a cheaper entry point into the VR sphere, and from what I know, is lower-spec than the PSVR2. (the VR2 is required to connect to the PS5 to function, and the PS5 is a pretty powerful console.)
Granted, the Quest isn’t such a huge downgrade in hardware compared to it.
There are plenty of games on the headset that look great and even impressive for the hardware! Max Mustard, Assassin’s Creed Nexus, Resident Evil 4 (2005) VR and the recent exclusive Batman Arkham Shadow are all titles I’ve heard being very fun and good-looking for the headset.
Whatever the case may be, we can all only speculate. But given how detailed Hitman’s levels are, the amount of NPC routines to track at once, the expansive levels, the team at XR must have needed to downgrade a lot of the visuals to get it to properly run.
But did they need to do it so severely? Maybe not? Maybe it just needs more work?
We can’t be sure of the reasons why, but the Quest 3 is very capable of rendering games at eye-catching quality.
Important to note that the Quest H3VR Reloaded is basically a port of the PC version of VR, and the PC version also looked on par with the flat game.

So PSVR2 is more powerful than the Meta Quest 3? OK that must make the difference, especially with the power for the PS5 tethered to the headset. Would a PS5 pro make it much better?
I just got the Meta Quest 3 and started Assassin’s Cred Nexus. Tried the first hour before I got loopy. Looks awesome though.
What also makes a difference here also is that the full Hitman World of Assassination is available on the PSVR2 headset, which is pretty incredible.
I might consider a PSVR2 headset if Hitman with the PSVR2 is as good as it looks.
Plus it has the dual wielding which is found also in the Meta Quest VR reloaded.
