HITMAN 3 - Technical Support

I’m on PS4 and the constant disconnections from servers are very annoying. I love this game like I loved the two previous ones but this is the only problem that makes me dislike the game in a way.

You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar: This works like a dream. Did lose my in-game settings (not the ones in the launcher.) and there’s still the odd disconnect but oh my god I can finally play the game again.

Description : Impossible to connect to the server. Running fine until yesterday (01/22/2021) around 10:30 GMT then the game crashed. After no connection. It says on startup: connect, authorize and once syncs, then displays the message “Unable to retrieve profile”

By checking my status on https://profile.hitman.com/carryover I noticed that my last connection on EPIC was on the 21st and not on the 22. I went to Steam to test, not only I connected without problem, and I was level 882 as during the transfer and yet yesterday I was level 894 on EPIC before the crash …;

Steps to reproduce: Unsure how though if it helps was on the final level of Hitman 3. IOI ID is CNC97 if helps to check your records.

Ok, so I tried pretty much every combination of which AppData/Roaming/IO to delete, cloud upload to or download from Epic, reinstalling and verifying instalation and NOTHING worked.

What worked for me: removing the IO folder, RESTARTING EPIC LAUNCHER, launching Hitman 3, uploading to cloud.
Seems like restarting Epic Launcher was the crucial step for my case.

I’ve got the exact same problem as all of you. I’m on PS4, and have no idea whether attempting a reinstall will do anything.

Update from my post earlier on this thread still having problems connecting on the Xbox series x and IOI still hasn’t even announced anything as far as fixing the problem . There was a statement on the hitman status website saying many people are experiencing issues but I’m not sure if that was always there or just put up today. I understand IOI is hard at work trying to fix this problem but it would be nice to have some clarification on the problem.

First time I tried this it didn’t work, but because I’m a stubborn person and seeing people here saying it works I tried it a second time, deleting the folder (but keeping a backup in case) and choosing to upload my own files when prompted to cloud sync, and it worked! though I still had to reconnect 3-4 times before the servers decided I was good to go.
Seems this might be a duct tape solution at best until IOI looks into this proper, but thanks for the fix!

Tried this as well; restarting the Epic launcher made no difference for me. Still failed to connect.

I own all games digitally and have 2 and 3 currently installed. I can play hitman 1 levels but not hitman 2. It just links to the store to buy the £54.99 or £79.99 access pass for hitman 2. I can play the hitman 2 expansion levels too, just not the main game.

I also have the same issues as others being unable to receive an email confirmation to create an account to link my progress

Not sure, I think the problem is that the access pass should be free in the store as I own the games

Out of interest, are you on PC? Has anyone attempted a successful re-installation on console? :slight_smile:

Nah I haven’t been brave enough to uninstall and then reinstall my entire game for the hope that it may fix the issue. The most notable reason I haven’t done this is because I know as far as consoles goes it’s most likely a server issue and there’s nothing we could do on our behalf. We just gotta be patient and either wait for a response from IOI or wait for the problem itself to be fixed.

Trying it now with a full cache clear on PS5. will update when complete

According to hitmanstat.us the servers are fine since days.

But still reinstall might not fix it if these user files are not located within the installation but another place, like it is for PC users. Some other console users might have better insight here.

It’s possible to clear the appcache on a PS5 by shutting it down and unplugging it for a few minutes.

I’m currently trying this on my PS5. Deleted the entire thing, including saves and DLC, cleared system cache, and I’m reinstalling now. I tried with no DLC installed, and just the “play now” portion downloaded, and I no longer get the profile error, but “failed to fetch online content”

Waiting for my download to finish and I’ll test again, but it’s not looking great so far

I am not sure that is an equivalent then. Developers would not store profile data in RAM, as this appcache seems to be in.

Unless the console actively detects that as an user attempt to clear these files.

Ok thanks for the help. Also it looks like they are investigating possible server issues so hoping I’ll finally be able to play today.
