Me personally bought Deluxe on Epic on first day for 1,190 in my currency (it was about 49 dollars or something), and now I have to pay 1,598.
At this moment in both stores
You should have clearly realized that the current one is a demo, not a free starter pack.
EDIT:It seems that if IOI fixes this problem, players can just click the âfree playâ button to add H3 to the library and inherit the previous H1H2dlc and archive, just like before.
The problem with the Free Starter Pack is twofold:
Hitman 3 (paid) and Hitman 3 (Demo) have different AppIDs. The entitlement system is trying to grant you DLCs for the Hitman 3 (paid) AppID, which then fails, because you need to own Hitman 3 (paid) to redeem itâs DLC.
Even if this does get fixed, the free starter package would still remain functionally broken in other ways
. A demo cannot have paid DLC, so people who download free starter package cannot buy the legacy packs before they buy Hitman 3, nor they can even upgrade their existing content (GOTY/Gold legacy upgrades)
In short : setting the Free Starter Package as a demo broke everything, it needs to be done the same way Hitman 2 was.
I understand that locations will get imported - if you only have Hitman 1, will it import from there, or do you need to add them to Hitman 2 first and import from that (even if you donât own any Hitman 2 locations)?
Other question: progression importing. Do I need to log into an IOI account to do that, or will it somehow import from my Steam copy of Hitman 2? I already had to replay all my Hitman 1 stuff in Hitman 2 and honestly I didnât mind (because Hitman is fantastic), just looking for clarification
And what about the regional pricing? Why everything went up 50-100%?
Hey ! I imagine someone already talked about that but, why are they selling hitman 2 (a 4 years old) game at 70 ⏠? Oh and you must have H3 to play it so 60 (90 if you want it with shitty DLC) so 130 or 160⏠and you donât even H1 in the game. I mean itâs either pure marketing genius, or thereâs something iâm misunderstanding
If I have everything installed - HM1, HM2, HM3, and every single DLC/sniper/whatever map - how big is the install size on disk? I remember in HM2 the bonus Columbia/Mumbai missions required you to download the entire level again for dumb reasonsâŠ
The same as if you have the demo: ~64gb
Maybe IOI uses some kind of compression technology. I remember that steamH2 has more than 100g of memory, but in H3, it is only about 65g. Obviously, a lot of maps and elements are added, but 40g is missing???
Yeah I wonder whatâs actually included in the download? Surely it wouldnât just download all the maps if you didnât own them, that would make piracy too easy. I remember when Patient Zero came out for Hitman 1 I could play it in offline mode even though I hadnât purchased it.
But that is the case. 65GB is all content there is. The access depends on the online connection.
No, they have made a new system with shared ressources, they talked about this prior to release. Instead of every map having their own stuff, bloating the size more and more, there is now one big pool of assets that all maps use. This removes a LOT of duplication.
(might not be 100% technically correct, but that was the idea iirc)
It seems that IOI still hasnât solved the problem that steamH3 doesnât have a Free Starter Pack.
Sadly itâs not even in their list of known issues yet
I suddenly found a problem: the tone of IOI seems to mean that they just fix DLC canât use in demo instead of changing the demo to free starter pack.
It seems that they donât want H3 to become âFREE TO PLAYâ. (however, on EGS, the Free Starter Pack is only a separate DLC)
Dark Souls 2 on Steam offers a discounted upgrade to its remastered version if you own the original. Maybe they could do a similar thing for Hitman 2 owners and offer a 100% discount on a Hitman 3 starter pack (i.e. import locations only), since the technology already exists.
I mean, the technology already exists for them to do a starter pack the exact same way Hitman 2 did it lol
